  2. Yep you could try an old car radio antenna. It will need to be the right diameter. Then you will need to cut it to the correct length with some room for adjustment within the loading coil. Make final tests and adjustments using a SWR meter. Mike
  3. It seems to me if someone wanted to pin the source of the noise down one of these would be handy. http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1/page_28342_103/j_s_products_steelman_06600_stethescope_electronic.html Mike
  4. I think they are within the law so long as they are not selling the photos, rights to the photos or use of the photos. This seems like one area where a union would be helpfull. Mike

  6. I agree with the above posters. Oil does make a difference. I switched to Amsoil once and switched back soon after. There are a couple of roller bearings involved with the clutch basket assembly. Has anyone ever looked into whether one of these could be the culprit. Mike
  7. It is not necessary to break the wire. The ends of the wire go through a small hole and are accessable with a needle nose pliers. Just squeez the ends and work the wire out of the hole. It can then be reused. After removing the wire pay attention to the order of removal of components. Mike
  8. If you go to the tech section Freebird posted a complete instruction on changing the pumpkin. It includes a link to purchase the unit all set up and ready to install. If you check out the link I posted above there is also a reference on purchasing the unit ready to install. It is really not all that complicated just check out the links that have been provided to you. Mike
  9. I just installed the Barnett clutch and the SR-2 conversion. The barnett did not have the notches in the clutch disks. Works fine. 306-90-20082 / 511-90-10002 Mike
  10. That would probably be the fan or a hard drive coming on. Is the hard drive light coming on? Whats the room temperature? Is it warmer than in the past? Finally could it be the fan has just become noisy? Is there a disk in the CD player? Check 'task manager' to see if any applications are running. Good Luck Mike
  11. It's the automatic valve stem lubricators doing their job. Mike
  12. Usualy I just say I got a chance to practice lifting my bike. Hahaha Glad you didn't do any damage. Mike:322:
  13. Water cooling is more efficient. Large changes in oil temperature equate to changes in oil viscosity and lubrication. The engine must be designed to handle this. With todays leaner mixtures, emissions and fuel injection, it just makes me wonder how much further they can push the air cooled envelope. Mike
  14. Prayers sent. It looks like there are a lot bad things in that gully. Thank goodness he was wearing gear. You taught him well. Mike

  17. Ok I went out and rotated the SR-2 spring plate as suggested. And now everything is working as it should. So does this mean I don't get a refund on my $12.00 ? I love it. The people on this site are great. Mike If ya can't do it right the first time, just do it again.
  18. Prayers sent. Very sorry to hear this. Mike
  19. Thanks guys. That answers my question pretty dog gone well. I will go back now and do it right. Thanks Mike
  20. I am installing a Barnett clutch pack #306-90-20082 and SR-2 kit in my 08 venture. With the spring plate torqued in place and the cover ready to go on. I still have considerable play in the clutch pack. It feels like I am missing one or more discs. Is play normal here or should torquing the spring plate have tightened everything up? Thanks for any guidance. Mike
