Ditto, there is so many you can not go wrong. Enjoy ! Brad

GA, Are you keeping us in suspense are you buying the bike ? Brad
-
Agree it is an electrical issue. Tracing something that is not acting up all the time is almost impossible. I was thinking an ignition switch. Seems similar to some of the other posts. The Royal star Tour has a different switch than the Venture and I do not believe it is a common problem for the TD but possible. Good Luck Brad

Now if you lower the front and rear 1" you will get 1" lower seat as well. BRad

Gary you did good, looks real nice. I am sure your happy with it. BRad

I get about 12,000 miles on the rear and pulled them off with about 1/16-1/8" left to te wear bars and that was the same for two tires. The front has have gone 23,000 miles and needs to be replaced. I do a lot of two up riding and pull a piggy backer. I will get another set of D404 WWW Brad

Gonna go out on a limb here. It may not be the tongue weight issue but it could be that the weight in the trailer behind the axle exceeds the tongue weight. Try shifting the load around, heavier items directly over the axles. try and lighten the load that is at the rear of the trailer. PS. 30 lbs of tongue weight should be adequate. If the above was not the answer I would be looking at the bike for some issue. Brad

Ignition switch failure
BradT replied to jrcain32's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
This makes the most sense. Brad -
You could always mount something cosmetic (useless) where the trunk was to give it some shape, may even help with airflow. Like the idea of the cooler rack on the tongue. A single wheel trailer just needs to be fixed so that it leans when the bike leans. Brad

Ignition switch failure

Even if someone used the bypass switch you will still need the key to start the bike. That is if you only bypass the 10 ga wires. It will crank over but not fire up. Someone would have to take the tank off and jumper the other wire as well before they could actually start the bike. The bypass wire just sends power around the switch (in laymans terms). THe heavy wire carries most of the load on it burns up the switch contacts. Brad -
Carl, Brown ? Do you think Rhonda would like her bike BROWN. Not a chance, I am smarter than that. Kevin you look like Mother in the Woods ! Steve and all Thanks Brad

We were there in 2005. The road in the some corners were not there just a big hole filled with gravel, which was washed away. Brad

If they have not fixed the roads watch out for pot holes. Take your time and enjoy the ride. BRad

How much fuel in Liters or gallons did you put in, that is needed to determine your mileage (remember Cdn gallons are biggger than the US ones) Higher speeds change the mileage quite drastically, Brad

2nd Gen Rear brake life

I would tell him they owe you a really good deal on a rotor. Brad -
I did that as well, still not done. I am going to try this method, hoping it is that simple. Brad
