    I agree oils are alot better and not jumping on you but I couldn't sleep right going 8k. I think that is too long. Same as the ones changing it 2k I think is too soon. It is what you feel safe with I think as long as you change it regular although I think 8k is pushing it a lot.. I like every 3 to 3500. How did this one start?? Wasn't it a easy oil question??

    No Sea-foam since last year? Time for a little stronger dose. But could be a ring? Or weak plug wire? Wire will fail at times and check fine.

    Good Thread!! I still use the old Dino castrol 20/50 and probally won't change. I change it about every 3500. you can tell by the way it shifts when it needs changed I think. a question while we are here. On the old engines 100k was the standard a lot of us went by on autos. 100k + we considered it done or wore out in most cases. What is the measure you go by now? with the new oils and better engines what can you expect out of one? My old Buick had 210k purred like a kitten, still roared pretty fair when asked to and didn't use enough oil between changes to notice. Wanted to see how many I could get out of that one. How long will they go now???

    Warden making threats if I ride that thing but when isn't she? I have looked out window about a 1000 times at that empty place. I can hobble around a little now if I keep weight on heel. It don't take much to push brake... What Doc don't know won't hurt him!!! Over cautious anyway I think. he probally has a guard to keep him from falling out of bed.

    Thats what I use with same resaults. But I only change about every 3500. I have had some leaks on older bikes. I've also heard STP is a bad thing for our bikes??

    Hate to see you have to part with it. I can't afford another right now but 2nd gear will hurt it. I have a 85 I bought out of desperation because I wasn't getting to ride. Not regreting it now. How many miles on yours and what color? Any extras on it? Got pics? See it is a job to get rid of them. Just kidding but if you list everything we can help you more. As for getting booted off didn't you read the fine print. You are stuck with us. Good luck with whatever you need to do with it.

    Mattress is almost flat but I got enough 1st Gen parts to stay ahead of those 2nd Gens for years. But that don't take much!!! Read Steve's post about his ride on her and "Ugly" is still Knocking them dead without even trying!!
