Good Post! I always like to read someones opinion, thought, information, or questions. If everyone cared what others thought, there wouldn't be any posts. I guess that is what makes it a community? Keep the posts coming and I'll keep reading. Cheers,

Just when I watched 2 guy's noodling down south for a 76 lb catfish, and thought that was crazy, you then come up with something....more? You certainly can't say there's nothing to do down there. Wow! My

True! Even that woman a few months ago that was applying nail polish while driving, and then ran into the back of a stopped motorcycle at an intersection, killing the female rider. Everyday, she likely thinks of the rider and the kids that are now left without a mother? At least I would hope so. What will it take for all politicians to take the blinders off and see the logic and necessity? I don't want myself, or one of my family or friends to become a statistic of this ignorance!

In the news today, Virginia Tech Transportation Institute has found that drivers text messaging increase their collision risk by 23 times than when not texting! On the cell phone when driving 6x the greater risk. Why are drivers doing this in the first place? Why would they want to live with the nightmare of being responsible for the injuring or the fatality of a bicyclist, pedestrian, motorcyclist, etc... Some states it is illegal and others it is not? Why? My opinion...all governments need to place huge fines on these people using these devices when driving. Thankfully, I don't know of anyone yet who has been involved in an accident, due to using a cell phone while driving.

I think you'd better get two of them...put the second one in front of the first and call it an AIR BAG!

An amazing trip! If you tend to get motion sickness on the water, take some Gravol about 1/2 hour before boarding. The day I went; the back deck had quite a few sick looking people out there and the washrooms were constantly full too. While there in Bar Harbor check out the State Park...what a fantastic view! Enjoy!

Sorry...but I have to disagree. If there's a will; there is a way to keep them loud. I may be old school but I don't agree with emission controls on bikes either. Seems to be a government control thing that bothers me the most. I've debated this emission/pollution control topic with a couple of PhD's on vehicles and they didn't have the answers nor were they interested in finding them. They seem to go with the flow of the government logic no matter what. Hmmm...I wonder if they're still using their Briggs and Stratton lawn mowers? Just my opinion

I have one that I use to check out my own cars and trucks. Simple to use. Some of the error codes I need to look up are on the web to find out what they are. Under $100.00 is not a bad price since it pays for itself the first time you will use it. Just my 2 cents!

That is amazing to see, what a meet! About how much did you raise for the charities?

One summer, I accidentally left a pair of progressive lens glasses in a case in the glove box and couldn't find them. When I did 3 days later they were shattered...I figured from the heat?

Looks really great! But where do you put the kickstand?

Right on! My opinion, which isn't worth much...just ride safe, trailer safe and safely store it. Whatever you do with your bike, enjoy and don't worry what the others think. Life's too short!

I guess that "Depends"? I'm glad you are ok and I pray that you have a quick recovery. Get plenty of rest, relax and try to enjoy some time off.

Glad to hear you two are ok! No one expects anything like that to happen and when it did you managed to keep the bike under control. Great going! Anyway, count your blessings...God had his hand upon you both!

Great to hear that she's feeling better and I hope she has a speedy recovery. See you both at MD!

That's really good to hear! Brenda wants to know...did she wear her new helmet? Looking forward to the next meet and eat. Maybe see her in Ohio? ;D

I agree. That would also be a wide load depending on what you are carrying. Driving down the road over some pot holes, with the amount of weight/leverage, makes me I wonder what the shock load rating is? Interesting design. Just my thoughts.

Cut down windshield
1 Canuck replied to BigBoyinMS's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When I purchased my Midnight it came with a tall Clearview windshield. When sitting on the seat, I am at the point of slightly stretching upwards to see over it or when sitting normally (slightly hunched over) looking through it. To see over the windshield in my normal sitting position, I was thinking of possibly cutting the top of windshield in a wide "U" shape, similar to that of the 2002-2003 BMW 1200 CL windshield. This will likely make it look pretty stupid or butt ugly, but I'm more into the functionality. I don't know anyone that has this model BMW to contact to see if this feature actually works. I also don't carry a passenger so I'm not worried about the buffeting. If it doesn't work out, or has adverse effects, I'll just continue to cut the remainder off the edges. -
Once the wife buys her own ride, they never go back to two up. Great choice of a bike for her.

840 Miles / 15 HRS. Manhattan KS to Marshall MI, I-70 to I-69 on a 2000 Kawasaki Concours I saw too many dead deer on the side of the road at night, and I thought I may adding one more (+myself) if I kept going.

Avon tires and the cold weather.
1 Canuck replied to sarges46's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Because of this thread I went and checked my new rear Venom-X tire. This tire as well is starting to crack around the rim, on one side only. The cracking is staggered around the rim with the largest cracks being about 3" long. It was installed last November and I have only driven about 300 miles since. The tire is inflated to 36psi and the bike had been in cold storage on the center stand all winter. I've notified the dealer and he's looking into a replacement from Avon, so I'll have to wait and see what his answer/solution is. Hopefully it is just one of those things? Right now the Kumho tire is looking better all the time? The wife says maybe I'm too heavy and I gotta lose weight...but then again she'll use any excuse. -
This is just one of the things that has attracted me to this site. I think it's amazing! Riders that are always looking for something newer, better, faster, louder, cheaper, etc, and then let the other members know about it. I haven't seen this amount of knowledge and enthusiasm about bikes anywhere else on the web, that I can learn from. Also, I not much into joining clubs but I enjoy being a member here.
