    Well, only made it to Joliet Ill today. Mama got tired of riding. Holed up in a Super 8, not the most luxurious but the price is right. Bought a 6 pack of some good local Porter type beer in Wisconsin and enjoyed a couple. Also bought some cheese to enjoy this weekend watching football. Met a couple at the Hotel this morning that live about 50 miles from us and ride! He has a Harley but hasd to admit that the trike looked waaaaay cool! Then as we were gassing up a guy comes over and asks if that was a Venture. He was with his son, and rode a Strat whilke the son has a V Star 1300. Gave him the address of the website so maybe we will have another new member. Gonna try to make it close to Cleveland tomorrow and find a nice hotel to stay in like a Hampton...

    ***SIGH*** PIP is over. Had a super great time, seeing a few old friends and making some new ones!! Followed Bubber home but he said he already had a dog and didn't need any more pets so we continued on the journey. Got out of Minnesota into Wisconsin and made it all the way to the same hotel we stayed at on the way down! Only difference is we are taking 3 days to get as far as we got in 2 days coming out here. Wisconsin is strange! They name their highways with letters instead of names! Also found a 8 3/4 Avenue! 8 3/4??? Why not 8.75?? What's up with a fraction in an avenue number??? Hoping to make the Indiana border by tomorrow evening...

    Just remember Bubster, what goes around comes around!!! Found out the hard way that all the hotels in Chocolate Eclaire are west of 53 on I94 so we ended up back at the Orange Moose again!!!

    Thank you Shannon! David is a wonderful person and known and liked, no, loved, by anyone who has met him in one way or another. We all are concerned and are praying for his full recovery! Thank you for keeping us updated!

    Well, didn't get as far as we nhoped we would due to missing the exit for I90 on the I355, and found out the first two entrances were towards Chicago only! Ended up getting baack on course at I39 in Rockford Ill. We would have kept going but the heat really knocked us for a loop and we lost a good hour or two in northeast Ill. Bubber, sent you a PM, may give you a call later on... There's a giant orange moose in front of our hotel!!!

    We're up and getting ready fdor day2 of the journey! We made it halfway across Indiana yesterday and are going to try to make Minneapolis/St Paul today, or at least to Eagleeye's who offered us a room for the nite! So far the worst issue was somebody at the dealer switched my petcock over to normal instead of reserve and I lost power on the interstate!! Didn't know it at the time so I thought I must have had bad gas, so I put my extra gas from the can in the trunk in and cxontinued on our merry way. Last nite I spotted the petcock in the wrong (for me) position...

    Awwww, darn!! I was hoping to see you nguys one more time at the PIP!! We are almost half way there already, halfway across Indiana. Oh well, next time!! Sure was an honor having you as a house guest!!!

    Unfortunately Route 66 isn't like it used to be back in the 50's and 60's but still an experience anyway. Let me know when you do it and we might want to ride along part of the way. Come riding with us WNY riders and pick up a few tips from us, from what to pack to what to check out before leaving.     Summer isn't summer without a hot dog! And of course have to have clams, any style! Don't forget watermellon! Fruit salads and potato salads and mac salads are a must as well! Let's not forget Big Tom's staple, ICE CREAM!!!

    For those on the ride today, my problem source was the driving light switch itself!! The light on the switch was not lighting, and when I re[placed the switch everything seems normal now!! I'm betting that the bulb in the switch is shorted out...

    Yah! I'm thinking uneven oil in the shocks, like one side is dry. When you lean, the side you are leaning to gives in more than the other side, so the side that is squirely is probably trhe dead strut...
