All the connections must be perfectly clean, thats the biggest problem with installing them. Also too your talking about a 20+ year old starter that might have been sitting for many years of it's life. You probably should go through the starter and refresh it, the battery also could be on it's last legs if you haven't put a new one in since you have owned it.

Back in your face! I have had a few other donations come in and now we are up to $1864.77....keep them coming!!

The Avon issues are few and as mentioned only occur on certain 1st gens. I have run the Avons on my G2's with no problems, the Michelins are a great tire also, I would have no problem running either of them on my Venture

No...Thank you Deb

Let me suggest that one of the 1st things you get is Carbon One's lift adapter http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/69/cat/7 These are so handy to have it's not even funny, you can change the oil in the bike with it attached and if you do your own work it's a must to jack it high in the air. I wouldn't want to work on a G2 without one

Ken, If your going to the west side, then follow the coast up, it's all beautiful over there. There are some cool places to stop like Holland, Saugatuck, Grand Haven, Muskegon and so on. Can't help you with lodging as I'm on the east side, but I'm sure you'll find some if you hit on line. Have fun and a safe trip

Were good Bro, seems as if it skirted south of our place, never lost power or anything. I do hope the folks that have lost power will get it back quickly. Lonna still hasn't heard anything from her mother and sisters in Texas so she's a bit anxious.

Thanks for the info Tom, can never have enough choices when it comes to the RSV -
I hear E3's are a good tire, nearly identical tread pattern as the Avon Venoms....which has been the same tread pattern for better than the 4 years I have been running them.. AVON VENOMS

The 1st gen has many quirks just like the G2's, warranty work is only as good as the dealer you take it to. The CLASS system on the royals is 1 trouble spot, weak frames on the 1200's, frame flexing with the soft motor mounts, 2nd gear problems on the 1200's. There are many small minuses on both of the bikes, it's all in how you choose to look at it And I have owned 3 of each generation

Keep trying to convince yourself of that SS I'll bet you a hundred dollar bill that I put Rose on the back of a G2 and she'll want to ride on the back of that one than a 1st gen

If your going to go aftermarket go out and buy new, dont waste your time with a used radio. I bought a brand new Pioneer for my car at Best Buy for about $150.
