  1. When can any of us,that love Yamaha's, get a real nice bike for under $5000 .......I wouldn't be ashamed to have that in it. Just my opinion..............JerryK:Venture:
  2. They are fine like they are......no need to change anything. Just gently pull to gain a little bit more and slide risers in from side....no problem. JerryK
  3. I had 2000 Venture lowered just the rear with Barons parts....I liked it and bike was totaled at 86,000 miles.....Made it easy for my short self to ride. I now have a Midnight Venture and just lowered the front by sliding tubes up 1". Handles better than the rear only I had and is a lot better at low speed handling.......I rode lowered rear about 50,000 miles now have ridden lowered front about 40,000 miles. :Venture:My 2 cents worth Jerry K
  4. Are you sure you don't have a front tire problem.......flat spot from lots of highway miles or air pressure? With front tire center wear it feels like you start to turn then have to steer harder to get over lip........just some thoughts:Venture: Jerry K
  5. No you couldn't have traded trucks first..............had to be in your name and titled, insured and licenced for 1 year with proof........if not anyone could have bought a $500 junker and got $4500 for it.....loop holes were covered. :Venture:JerryK 30 year Chevy sales
  6. :Venture:I had a couple Roadie II's ,and I had 2 Audiovox Express....the Audio Vox is too moisture sensitive....I have a Delphi SkyFi 3 now and like it well.......I mounted sideways on right side of handlebar and it's big letters are great for my old eyes. I like push buttons on the cradle too. JerryK
  7. I:Venture: have a Delphi SkyFi3 coming........Who's been their done that? Hot tips or advice Jerry K
  8. What air pressure did you run in the Avons while you had it? I have ran Dunlop,Metzler 880 and 3 sets of Avons......Avons are the best I've ever had and handle the best too.....I run 43 LB of air front and back and get over 20k on front and 16-19k on rear. Something else I do every couple months [because I run the interstate] is take the bike to a BIG parking lot with new sharp black top and run about a 25 mile/hr tight figure 8 for about 10 minutes......that will knock off the edges you get from super slab riding. I learned this trick with a trip to Deals Gap a few years ago. Tires were much better after running there for a day. Flat center was gone! I think that running my back and forth trip to work on I-75 at 75-80 mph daily helps my long tire wear.....The bike is pretty light on the tires at 80 mph! JerryK:Venture:
  9. Just back from maint.day What a beautiful day we had! My first trip......Freebird you have a beautiful place....with the exception of the broken swing....My side didn't break even with my heavier weight.....LOL Many thanks and what a great turn out...it was great putting some faces and names with some members. Later JERRY K

I agree with the tired of it....but it's funny when most of the guys that knock Jap or any none Harley used to ride our brands! I always answer the question with 'Why do you think you have to have a Harley to be a Biker.....I ride with some Harley friend often and his 2 Harleys do well and so does my Venture.....But some fools just don't get it.....A RIDER OF ANY BRAND IS MY FRIEND......just some want to be's get on my nerves.......:Venture:Jerry K
  11. I ran a 2000 Venture and lost 2 coils running in water cover street.......their are 2 under the bike and 2 elsewhere.....I forget where the other 2 are....but my bet is coils under bike......I think they are the 2 rear cylinders. Maybe a plug boot ? Hope this helps JKerry K
  12. How can I tell if my dues are showing paid? I know....probably a dumb question but I meet the specs.....LOL Jerry K:Venture:
  13. I got the part # from Yamaha customer relations......My 2000 Venture that was totaled in 2005 had factory CD when bought at dealer new so he got me the # STR-CDCHG-11-00 COOL JerryK
  14. The part # is STR-CDCHG-11-00 I got it cause my totaled 2000 had it installed at dealer when new......Mark at Yamaha got it for me.
  15. Good News......I got the Yamaha # for factory short cable STR-CDCHG-11-00
  16. I have factory CD changer from totaled 2000 Venture I had and need the Yamaha short cable.....does anyone know how I can get just the cable from Yamaha? JerryK
  17. Lube up your shift linkage. That I bet is your problem. It's hard to get to it all but when you do I bet that changes it. Jerry K
  18. I did 1024 miles in 23 1/2 hrs......Troy Oh. to Texolla Ok.......with 4 hrs. sleep in Ok City.....then went on to Gallup NM total of 1570 miles in 37 !/2 hrs.......On Goldwing 8 yrs ago......Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 and Bunburner 1500 on same ride......That ride convinced me to switch to Venture......Goldwing was easier to stand up and run high speed for a few miles though......Utopia on my Venture lets me stand on back of floor boards and stay off seat at any speed too. It was harder than you think it is to do......Haul butt for a tank of gas then stretch and drink and bathroom breaks kills your avg. JerryK
  19. I think you should ask him why he can't be a man and ride the better bike the Yamaha instead of joining the sheep that think they have to have a Harley.....Be a man not a Tavern to Tavern follower. Harley riders are mostly TT rides.....Tavern to Tavern....that way they slowly gather parts that have fallen off instead of a truck load after a big ride.....plus in a Harley ride you always get to stop and rest more when someones Harley quits or needs parts tightened. Maybe he's gettn old and needs all the rest breaks! Didn't you say you liked him better when he was his own man rather than a follower....I'm sure I heard that under their somewhere. What car does his friends want him to have......LOL......I agreed in 2001 that Yamaha built a better Harley when I rode the Roadstar at 2001 Bowling Green Ky Star days. After my wife and I climbed off we really liked are V-Star and Venture better than ever. My Harley friends respect me and my Venture......My best riding friend tells them all that I ride with him everywhere and for long distances....Not those little TT rides his Harley friends ride......They say they want to ride with us till they find out what our day ride will include.....They just go have another beer and strut around with $500 worth of Harley foo-foo cloths on. LOL Jerry K Ps....Can you tell I like Yamaha's?
  20. I'm a proud everyday user of this sight. Just Sunday I lowered the front of my Venture with info from here that made it easy.....I'm about to add on a Stebel horn and have been gathering input from here for that. Don is like our dad for this great sight.....Don't go messn with the head of our family. Yes "Z-Factor" has a right to say what he wants.....But I have a right to disagree with him and I do. If you jump on here a few times a year you should check things out and quietly come and go. It was said on here that "Z-Factor ask a question a while back and then just disappeared again with out even looking for an answer.....Thats cool but not a typical member. The rest of us who live in this neighbor hood will do just fine with or with out "Z-Factor" and his lack of participation. JerryK:Venture:
  21. I think Z-factor or anyone who has negative comments should go away to some of the other sights that he says he belongs......Most of us are reacting as a family and doing the right thing.......every family has an *******......and Z-Factor I'm making you are official *******.........Be proud.....every family has one! JerryK:Venture:
  22. Does anyone have radiator cowlings [black midnight]......I noticed today I have a tennis ball size hole in left side. I also have a 2000 Venture trunk bottom new in Yamaha box [red] to trade or sell.
  23. Don't get mad but I'm laughing my butt off at this post.....Trying to make a Chopper out of Venture........COOL.......Sometimes lower doesn't mean lower.....Does it? Jerry K:Venture:If this is the worst mistake you ever make your darn near perfect!
  24. Sounds to me like you should be riding in the back....LOL:Venture: Jerry K
