That is a pretty bike! Almost as pretty as a blue Venture. Congratulations on the new ride! I'm sure you will love it. It appears that the Popeye Virus can lead to another medical disorder from which I, and many members here, suffer: MBD (Multiple Bike Disorder)! Maybe we should start an MBD support group..........Oh wait, we already have that, called VR.O!

Yesterday morning at 9:00 it was 22f with 70 to 80 mph winds! Of course the winds were because I was riding my bike on the highway!

Yeah, eBay's probably your best bet, JB. So, do you now have a parts bike? .
-
OK RiderDuke, where are you? .

While you are in the "Reply to Thread", scroll down and you will see a button that says "Manage Attachments". Click on that and it will open a new browser window, find the picture you want to post and double click on it. That will put it under your post.

Dang, Swifty, I didn't realize that you were such an optimist! .

You stated your problem in the first part of your statement: "following Squidley`s instructions"! .

I had heard that about the stock discs as well Jerry, so I went back with stock. No, I didn't add an extra disc; I'm talking about the large, round, metal spring that puts pressure on the clutch plates. I just added a new on on top of the old one (kind of like they are "spooning") after replacing all the fiber discs and lightly sanding the metal plates. I also left the half disc and retaining spring in it. I believe that is supposed to keep the chattering noise down. It works great.

Got back from the show at about 6:30. Since it was cold and we were in a cage we decided that a pitcher was in order (OK 2!) on the way home, along with some hot wings. The show was good. The Raider does not look like a 1900cc Motor Cycle! It looks fairly small until you sit on it! I like it, at least for running around town. Saw a new type of swivel hitch. In this case it is actually the ball on the bike that rolls from side to side, and not the hitch on the trailer twisting. Interesting concept. Got to meet ediddy and his wife. They came up from Albany (pronounced All-Bain-Ee!) and we met at the Star booth along with Blackjack and his wife. Grey Ghost showed up for a few minutes as well. Then we went our separate ways to finish off the show.

Sounds like you should be riding again by next Saturday! I have learned over the years that there is a lot of heat in the handles of tools like hammers, saws, rakes and shovels! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_11_5v.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_10.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_11_4.gif . .

Gene, when I did my clutch, at 90+ thousand miles and after talking to Rick @ Buckeye, I decided to go to with the stock plates and add one extra spring. It makes for a little stiffer pull, about like a cable clutch, but holds tight. Tight enough that it broke this loose easily: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Extra%20Junk/todd005.jpg So I think that fix will be good enough for the power a second gen puts out.

What We (or at least I) Do Around Here When It Snows!
86er replied to 86er's topic in Picture Folder
The roads were still warm (over 32 anyway) and with the haircut I was only gone about an hour and a half. No ice on the roads and no salt/sand to worry about. Now tomorrow I have to go out at 9am for some testing at Fedex (wish me luck!) and it's supposed to get 18 tonight. It'll probably be about 23 to 26 when I leave. The roads are dry now and no precip expected so all I have to worry about is water leaking onto the road and I should be able to see that stuff. I draw the line (usually) at riding in the dark below 30, 'cause I can't see the ice. But it has been so dry around here for so long that no outside watering is allowed, which takes out the idiots that leave their sprinklers running out on the road.- 16 replies

I'm headed out for the show in about an hour. It's 19 degrees here right now so the people I'm going with don't want to ride. Go figure?!?! Gotta stop at The Varsity (a drive-in opened in 1928!) to get my fill of burgers, onion rings and grease on the way! A lot cheaper than eating at the show. I'll see those of you that show up at 2:00 @ Yami's booth. I'll probably be there by noon and I'll have some $2 off coupons, so anybody that's there then can call my cell (listed in VR Assist) and I'll give you one.

Go Riding! I'm actually giving a thumbs up, NOT what it looks like! (Well, except to Swifty!) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1302.jpg Yep, 26 degrees! (The 25 is the direction on the compass) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1305.jpg This is why I like to be able to see over my windshield. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1303.jpg Ice! Glad your home. Are you guys supposed to get snow from this system as well? Can't tell from TWC. It's up to 20 or 30 flakes now, a regular blizzard! Biggest problem with going for a ride today will be getting down and up the slope to my garage! You know what that's like, Jeff! Maybe I'll just go run around catching snowflakes on my tongue. For you Yankies, that's what people that only see snow every few years do!
