They are free, guy at work bought a hd and got 2 sets of mufflers with it, along with the aftermarkets on it. But I also have a bid on some 2000 road kings on ebay. Hope I don't get them now, unless the road kings are better.

Have been offered a set of 99 hd electraglide mufflers, how hard are they to make fit? Is it even feasible? Any advantage as to mileage? Thanks

I have both, 83 1st gen and 08 2nd gen, am finding I may leave 08 at home, a lot, just a completely different bike. Wife has even commented about the difference. And I don't think mine is really running 100%, plus repairing after deer strike, need gold fairing.

It has nothing to do with being a girl, have seen many guys not even attempt their oil change, take to dealer. Won't do anything mechanical or where they might get dirty. Keep it up!

Fuel level warning light
Holly replied to venture2008's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Sounds just like my 08, most of those warning lights are not that accurate, my truck will run another 100 mi., my car about 50 mi. Was a little disturbed when it first happened, to me it is not worth fretting about. -
came up fine, but what a load, no idea what they have,

Also old mech, NIASE certified, books I have are still saying use c-clamp or other device to push piston back. Have seen too many people lose brakes from broken hose after using vise grip, not smart enough to realize not to pinch thru, hate seeing anyone open bleeders if they don't understand air in lines also, will check with some buddies still doing repair to see what they are doing up here.
-
and when you pinch off the line with a needle nose vice grip, you damage the hose to cause failure in the future, that is not an accepted practice in the automotive repair field,

We will wait and see where these guys came from, locals or otherwise, many in Sioux Falls think the small towns are Barney Fifes. Too bad!! http://www.keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,81928

Used parts available for 1st Gens
Holly replied to Dragonslayer's topic in First Gen Parts and Accessories
Overall ok, bumps, bruises, broken right big toe and index finger. What a combo!! Came up out of ditch and run across in front of me, no time to brake, just hit it in the neck. 4 pointer. No more trips this year. -

Still have the rearend / differential? Mine went 5k with 2 tablespoons of oil!! -
Got back from "the Hills" yesterday, had a blast. Should be able to got to the rally next year. Would love to get a M&E going for then. Saw 2 Ventures while we were there, one like mine, twice, but couldn't get his attention, and I think an 87 blue one in Keystone. Gave him a thumbs up and told him my 83 was up the block. Was over 1000 mi. in 3 days. Rain and bad wind coming home. But an awesome time.
