I purchased mine with the Elite III on it. Seem fine to me, but I haven't ridden in a few years. Looked brand new then, have about 4k on it since. 2 months now.

Mine wants to go to the Black Hills, yet this summer, and son in law wants to go to the Field of Dreams movie site, both over 300 miles in completely opposite directions
-
It had been 20 yrs since I rode, and that was just very short trips, honda CB450T, a real vibrator. Only had Venture 2 months now.

Am thinking I will need trailer on next trip to haul the souvenirs that the wife wants to buy

Was tired, but not real bad, did over 400 today from about 11 am to 8 pm. Rode 2 up, wife's knees are sore and she went right to bed. I really think it helped keeping the helmets on almost the whole time. Last week Sunday we put on over 200 miles to help her get a feel for this trip she wanted to take.

Just got back with over 1000 miles under my butt in 73 hrs. From home to Spillville Ia, House on the Rock, Wi, Wisconsin Dells, Eau Claire Wi, visited grandkids in Eau Claire, then around Lake Pepin on the Mississippi, both sides, Red Wing, Lake City and Wabasha, then to Rochester, Mn, Owatonna Mn, Sleepy Eye, Mn then the quickest way home as it was getting late. Never before tried this, Venture performed flawlessly, I didn't tried to kill on some uphill starts, and redlight goofs. Had lots of fun trying to get a motel room this weekend around here, as Sturgis riders, both coming and going were filling most motels along the interstate. Had lots of fun. Daryl

Which bulb should be in the headlight, owners manual say 65w/60w and service manual says 60w/55w. Could that keep my headlight icon on. My bulb says 60w/55w. Just wondering Thanks for the batt icon help, it is now off.

115 mph and room to go further...
Holly replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No problem at all to make 100, still have fairing and standard windscreen, lots to go -
83 VR bought less than 2 months ago, just over 40mpg, daily ride to work 55 to 70 mph, pretty much the same 2 up.

And she didn't learn a thing, again. Should be sent back to drivers training.

About 50/50 and when I do it is a Snell approved, cost a little extra but much better than a DOT. Snell are tested and must meet specs, DOT follow guidelines enforced by manufacturer.

But both hi and lo work, can see difference when I use the switch. Am confused?
-
It is the larger one, if someone replaced the light with other than stock, would it bring the icon on?
-
Now how about the headlight icon showing all the time? Thanks for the info about the battery icon, now can get that off. Maybe I can take the tape off that blocks the flashing red light.

Deer whistles work under a small set of circumstances, most of the time they don't. Ripped them off mine when I got it.
-
Thanks for all the help, now know what to get and where to put it, but found out filter not the problem. One carb is plugged with junk, need to work on that area, looks like fun.
-
Mine does the same, never know for sure what is setting it off, most warm days it works good, cooler not so good, let me know what you find if anything because ti good be in the chip not just solder joint:080402gudl_prv:

The brackets appear to have been cracked for awhile, rust at the break point, no brake fluid leaks, checked it out pretty well when I got home.

99 Trunk Needs Major Repair
Holly replied to FROG MAN's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mine is about that bad. Was going to get some scrap alum from work and bolt it to bottom, and seal it with silicone. Appears to have enough clearance on bottom to allow 1/8" thick piece to work. -
You are soooo right, Snaggletooth, That is why I quit the computer repair business, even there you have too many morons, but I would join your "Protection corps". If they want to be stupid, let them.
