  1. I was NOT at the table so don't try blaming that aura stuff on me.
  2. Try http://www.coolbulbs.com
  3. I'm not a trucker but I admit that is a beautiful rig. Almost makes me WANT to be a trucker.
  4. See this thread. There is a link to the site right at the bottom. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=992
  5. I saw your question and sure wish I could help. I have the Flanders Bars and not the risers and don't have that piece anyway to do any measuring for you.
  6. It is very handy. I have all my cds on the IPOD. I used to have a CD changer on the RSV but then had to decide which cds I wanted to take and etc. With the IPOD, I can choose from my collection anything that I want depending upon the mood that I'm in. I can also create playlists that contain different artists and types of music. I can do that before I leave and don't have to search while I'm on the road. Finding tunes is very easy. You can sort by artist, cd, genre.....etc. I love it.
  7. OK folks...we have decided to give away another new Bushtec trailer this year at the International VentureRider Rally. As last year, you DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. The winner will be awarded a gift certificate for their choice of the Bushtec RoadStar or Turbo II trailer. You will be responsible for picking up the trailer from Bushtec or paying for shipping. Please see the rally page at http://www.venturerider.org/irally for complete details and to order your raffle tickets.
  8. Aura??? I'll bet Brad stepped in something..... OH....you said aura...I was thinking ODOR.
  9. OK...you've got my vote....now getting my MONEY...that's another thing altogether.
  10. This is not the company that I requested a quote from but have done so now. Doesn't hurt to get as many quotes as possible. Thanks.
  11. I agree. If you are talking about a second gen. I've owned many bikes and the RSV fits me and my long legs better than any I've ever owned. I was NOT as comfortable on the first gen but opinions vary about that. Condor is taller than me and says that the first gen fits him perfectly.
  12. How much memory does it use? Built in memory or Chip?
  13. That is correct....I have to change it for you but then all posts, galleries, etc. will be updated to the new name automatically. No problem.
  14. By the way...I can't remember if I posted it or not but I ended up taking back the LG Venus. I liked the phone but it was NOT ready for prime time. I wanted it primarily for the 8 GB MP3 player but though it recognizes the 8 GB chip, you get a "device full" error at less than 4 GB. Verizon and LG have found no solution to the problem but they still continue to market it as an 8 GB phone.
  15. and there you have it. IPhone, Ipod, seems they always end up with a battery issue. Wonder how the new Air Mac or whatever it is will fair? No thanks.
  16. OK folks...I may again be getting myself into something that I will regret but I'm getting pretty used to that. I've tried for years to find and buy a scale model of the RSV. Die cast, plastic, whatever. There is simply nothing available. So this evening I got on it again and this time I found a custom manufacturer who is interested in doing it for me. I asked him to give me a price based upon quantity, detail, etc. I've seen samples of other projects that he has done and they are fantastic. At this time, I have no idea about the cost. He is supposed to get back to me early next week with all the details. I sent him a lot of pictures of my RSV and he said that he will be reviewing them over the weekend. So....there you have it. Is there any interest?
  17. I've never built one but I do have those plans. If you haven't bought them yet, I can try to scan them and email them to you. After I got prices for the steel and other components, I found that it was cheaper for me to buy one Haven't done that yet either though.
  18. There are two posts that question how I could lose respect for somebody because of a difference in political issues. I can't really explain that without getting into a deep political discussion. The simple fact is that 20 years ago, I wouldn't have felt this way. Now days though, there is such a huge difference in what some on the far left believe as opposed to what some on the far right believe that I readily admit that I cannot respect some views and when I know that some people do support some views which I consider extreme, I do lose some respect for them. There are a handful of issues that I simply cannot understand how people can think the way that they do. That's all I can say about it. It may not seem right to some of you but I'm just being honest. So...maybe it's time to close this thread. There's not a lot more that can be said without getting into the exact conversations that we wish to avoid.
  19. You are right about that. I have looked extensively for models of our bikes. Die-cast, plastic, anything. There is just nothing available. I even contacted some manufacturers about having some made and was willing to buy a bulk quantity of them to re-sell but never even got a response from them.
  20. That's pretty neat. Now she needs to make a model of your bike to go in it.
  21. I should re-state my response about Swifty's post. I don't want to get into any details but I do need to say that though my opinion about this differ from his, that is not to say that there is no basis for what he says. Like I said, I base my political beliefs much on what I have experienced in my life. Having been raised in Texas, I have lived and remember well the segregated schools and etc. I was in the 7th grade when my little town first started desegregating the schools and it was my freshman year in high school when they were completely desegregated. So, I've experienced both. I know first hand the problems and advantages of both systems but to get into it here would go against all that I've stated as to the rules on this site. So, I just want to say that I do understand where Swifty is coming from but I think the issue is very complex.
  22. Once upon a time, I had planned to go with one of these log homes. At the time, I lived about 40 miles from their headquarters. They have a community of their homes there and some of them were fantastic. http://satterwhite-log-homes.com/
  23. The cabin is neat but a LOT more work than this old boy wants to do. I would like to have a fence like that across the front of my place and down both sides of the driveway. Very nice.
  24. No, there is no power plug for the CD changer, it get's power from the single cable that plugs into it. The plug you see is what Yamaha calls the rear power receptacle. If you look on the left side of the bike, same place where the rear air stem is on the other side, you will see a removable plug. That is a place to put another 12 volt accessory outlet. I installed it there and then ended up just cutting the white connector off that you see and wiring the receptacle with those wires.
  25. There is so much wrong with this entire statement that I wouldn't even know where to start. I would have to get political though. Not going to go there.
