  1. I think you just answered the question. The Bridgestones can be VERY noisy. At the end of last summer, I had just about worn out my Michelin on the rear. Another member here had a Bridgestone with only a couple of thousand miles on it that he gave to me. Actually, it was the wheel that I wanted, he has converted to a trike, and the wheel happened to have the Bridgestone on it. I truly do HATE that tire. The noise drives me crazy. It will be coming off before riding weather.
  2. Really sorry to hear the news. While the most important thing is that you are here to tell about it, I do understand the loss you feel about the bike. Hopefully we can help you come up with the parts to put it back together...or help you find a new one. The important thing now is to take it easy and let yourself heal properly.
  3. I think that most are "stud" mounted. There would be a nut on the bottom of the mount that you would just loosen. That's the way that mine and most that I've seen are.
  4. Yes, I've got to get some new small patches ordered. Been out for a while. I'll get on that soon.
  5. Yes, the play on words with the old double mint gum commercials was intentional. I thought it was fun. Yea, I knew it was a Royal Star engine but I liked the 4 pipes that make it obvious that it's a V4. Nobody will care about the carbs. I'm thinking of other text for other shirts too. V4, TWICE AS NICE is one that comes to mind.
  6. That would be my first thought also. Some brands REALLY whine when you get them off dead center. Bridgestone is very bad about it and even my Michelins do it a bit.
  7. I understand about the text on the front. Maybe just VentureRider.Org Here is a better picture of the picture on the back.
  8. I understand but if I have shirts made, they ARE going to have our club name on them.
  9. There can be any kind of sleeves you want. It is purely an idea right now. I am working on other designs also.
  10. Folks...I'm working on some shirt designs just for fun. These pictures aren't very good but what do you think of the general concept?
  11. With what you listed, I am sure you will be just fine. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
  12. I've pulled a trailer behind my '99 since '99. Sometimes loaded WAY heavier than it should be. It has never caused a problem with the shock or anything else.
  13. I've pretty much got to agree with the others. 15,000 out of a rear tire on a motorcycle is darn good. I have never pushed one that far.
  14. Well...if that's the case...I'm turning off the aerators and hoping for a winter kill.
  15. LOL...this would be fun. You would end up with a oil stained empty crate.
  16. By the way...I also have a motor out of the '83 that I parted out. It is complete. I never heard it run so don't know much of anything about it.
  17. No problem. I can also crate and ship it if you end up needing me to. Whatever you decide, I'll do whatever needs to be done.
  18. Don't know what year this is but it's only about 20 minutes from my house so if any of you buy it and need me to pick it up and store it for you, that would be no problem. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-1300-engine-take-out-vmax-nice-cond_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35595QQihZ014QQitemZ330211706797QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  19. You guys are talking about the Pilot light bar. I was wondering about the Diamond R bar. For the Pilot bar, I just used spring type "bar clips" that I got at Home Depot. They just snap onto the chrome rail under the trunk. Been holding mine on for 9 years.
  20. I have not installed one of these. I THINK that they simply bolt between the helmet locks. I recommend that you email Diamond R to be sure. I'm almost sure that no drilling is required though. As for the wiring, It has to be very simple. Whether you wire under the seat, trunk, whatever, it will just be three wires to splice into the existing ones.
  21. I actually have an article in the tech library of one that I did back in 1999 I think. It was made by Pilot and I picked it up at AutoZone for about $20.00. To use it as a brake and running light though requires adding a resistor and diode. I've also been told that they don't even sell it any longer but have not checked locally. If I were adding one now, I would just get the one from Diamond R. It is ready to mount, works as brake and tail light and look nice. I think the price is fair. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/yamaha/proddisplay.php?name=15%60%60%20Slimline%20LED%20Lightbar

    Gas Cap

I wish I could remember who I gave the gas cap to. If I remember correctly, it didn't work for him. Maybe he will see this and offer it up.
  23. You can also check with Rick at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com He probably has them. He could probably also hook you up with Stainless Steel.
  24. The link back to the old style is right at the top of the page. Look for the line...about the third or so line down that says "Welcome to the NEW Ebay Motors"....right beside that is a link that will take you back to the old style.
  25. Now THAT is the right vacation for these winter months. Glad you had a nice time. A cruise is high on our list during the next year or two.
