Very nice. Love the style and it goes well with the RSV.

I used Pledge on my stock windshield for a long time and it never hurt it. I've used it on my Clearview for several years now and no damage to it either. You should be just fine.

That's as good of news as I've heard in a long time. Very happy for you Gary. I know you would RATHER have '99 SILVER but hey...you got the second best color there is.

What bike are you riding? No info in your profile.

The first year I did this, I think there were about 18 people here for maybe 3 hours or so. There are now over a hundred folks and it seems to grow every year. Last year people started showing up on Friday evening and didn't get out of here until Sunday.

Over 12" here this morning and still coming down hard and steady. You guys be safe out there.

I don't see the problem with this thread. It has been a decent discussion. Some are adamantly against and some have run car tires are are very comfortable with it. Some are on the fence and want to hear the pros and cons. That's why this is called a "DISCUSSION" forum. We discuss things. People should feel free to share their thoughts and opinions on such important issues. Then each person has the right to make up their own mind. If somebodies opinion differs from yours...so be it. Take it or leave it. The only other thing I could do is to start deleting all threads where there isn't 100% agreement. That would sure save on server space. There have been several threads lately where people have sure seemed to get upset over things that should NOT upset anybody. I think that PMS is really starting to set in now. Everybody just take a DEEP BREATH...we will all be riding again soon. This tire issue seems to be almost a moot point anyway. NOBODY has come up with one that will for sure fit the RSV.

It is pretty much over with on Saturday but a number of people didn't actually leave until Sunday.

Unfortunately it's not like Indy. It hasn't stopped snowing here all day. Light but steady. Probably about 6-8 inches already and no sign of stopping.

No engine noise with my Mic Mutes either. I did have engine noise a few years ago but that was before the Mic Mutes install. I don't think it will cause engine noise but if you have it already, you will continue to do so. A slight moving/rerouting of my cables under the left side of the gas tank got rid of it back when I had it.

The funeral was yesterday and went just fine. We kept it very small, family only and everybody ended up back at our house when it was over. I think it was a day that would have pleased her. Internet is back up for now. We are supposed to get about 12" of snow starting later this afternoon. Unless it's ice again, hopefully my service will stay on. Ordered the Verizon DSL but the self-install kit will not be here until Monday.

Just a note here. If the Oberlin Inn runs out of rooms. I have never been inside the Sunset but from the outside, it is pretty rough. Don't think I would recommend it. Plenty of room to camp at my place for those so inclined. If the Oberlin is full, several members have stayed at the Days Inn in Amherst. Only about 17 miles up the road. I use the standard "Battery Tender" on my Odyssey battery. I keep it plugged in all the time when the bike is in the garage. Been using it now on this battery for about 4 years. No problems at all.

I'm back in town again. I did find out today that DSL is now available to my house and it is ordered. It will take about 4 or 5 days before the equipment arrives though. I will install it and try it for a while. I'll keep both services until I see if the DSL is reliable. My service is still down. They said it's just a matter of how fast the ice melts.

I don't know how often I'll be able to check in today. We got slammed with an ice storm and it took my internet out. I have a wireless service at home and apparently the transmitter on top of the tower somewhere is encased in ice and has my service shut down. They couldn't tell me how long. They can't get up the towner to clear the ice. So...I'm sitting in the car now in town where I could get a WIFI signal to check my messages. I'll check in when I can but if you have a problem, please understand that I may not reply as quick as I usually do. My mother in law's funeral is tomorrow so I'll be pretty much tied up tomorrow also. Step father's funeral was yesterday in Texas. I didn't make it but my brother has reported that all went as well as can be expected. Thanks to all of you for the condolences.

passanger highway pegs?
Freebird replied to big_mike's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've got the Diamond R passenger pegs on mine. I did change out the actual pegs with some KuryAkyn's that I had. They work pretty good. -
Really sorry to hear this news. I sure wish that they would find a cure for that horrid disease. We lost my sister in law and now my mother in law to it over the past couple of years and this weekend. Now we found out yesterday that my wife's aunt only has a day or two to live due to cancer also. Way too much of it in this world. If anybody has a good picture of Greg, please email it to me at dnelson@axcesswave.com so that I can use it in on our memorials page.

How do I know if I have a bad rear shock?
Freebird replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It may go high when you pump it but should drop back off as you retract the plunger for the next stroke. You want to read it while you are not pumping. -
Eck, Your procedure on this is posted in the Tech Library. Very well done I might add.

I don't think that's your problem. I'm running a 1.86 GHz processor on the notebook with only 1 GB of RAM and they all open and play fine for me. Unless you are running a LOT of stuff in the background, memory shouldn't be the issue. OH...and I'm running Windows XP and Firefox but IE works fine also.

I honestly don't know how it COULD have happened unless you just created a new profile. -

I've merged the new name you created with your old one. If you do not remember the password for fixit, email me and let me know what it should be and I'll re-set it for you.
