EXCLUSIVE! 2009 Venture preview
Freebird replied to spear's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
FINALLY...one that Muffinman will want. -
I've done that before but sold the snowmobile a couple of years ago.
-
Yes, and you do that from Windows Explorer. Don't actually open the image, just go to the folder where you have the image and right click on the file name and choose "resize". Choose the default, 640 x 480 for uploading pictures to the forum.

Very nice bike and I'm glad Kit is getting to put some miles on it. Looking at the pictures depresses me.....all sunny...looks warm...then I look outside here and see a frozen snow covered pond.

Just picked up the new (to me) bike

You might try Pinwall Cycle Parts for the trim. He has a couple of wrecked RSVs that he is parting out. The problem will likely be that those front fairing parts that you need are often the first to be damaged in an accident. He has an Ebay store at: http://stores.ebay.com/PinWall-Cycle-Parts-Inc and also a telephone number posted there. As for your elevation and the popping. I've not heard of any of these bikes needing the carbs re-jetted due to elevation. In fact, I've ridden mine in Colorado at elevations around 10,000 feet and had no problems at all. Most likely just need to sync them real well. That's pretty common on these bikes. Don -
Nicely done Paul. Glad to see that you included "Image Resize". That's a GREAT little program that anybody who posts pictures here should use.

Wanted to post this for all of you who contributed so generously to the fund for Cliff's son. He sent me this via email today to share with you all. http://www.regards.com/getgreeting.cfm/648-4056659-0108

Hey....don't think for a minute that you are ever going to live this down. I'm PRETTY SURE that you are the only one who has ever done that. Glad things worked out.
-
Gary, I can't say much that hasn't already been said. I know that you have loving family but don't forget that we are here for you also. Anything you need, just let us know. We've missed you.

I'm sure you will really enjoy it. I actually tried to buy a new Wing a few years ago. Had it all picked out, accessories chosen, final negotiating was done. Went in the sign the papers and thought it was a done deal when suddenly they asked to see my AARP card....WHAT???? Didn't have one, wasn't old enough at that time. Who would have know that it was a requirement.

Received my CD today and just wanted to again thank Kevin for doing this. I was on my way to town when I stopped to check the mail and there it was. Enjoyed listening to it while running some errands. Very nice "feel good" songs sung...and some written I think...by one of our own.

I want to thank all of you who were able to contribute to this cause. The auction for the bells have ended and did very well I think. They brought about $150.00 each for a total of about $750.00. We also had several donations sent by PayPal and by snail mail. I sent Cliff a nice check this morning that I KNOW will be much appreciated. Far short of what they need but at least a good start. KR1 is still offering his CDs with 100% of the proceeds going to the cause. There is a sticky thread at the top of the watering hole with the details. Thanks much to Kevin for doing this. Don

No problem...it hasn't always worked this way. I added a new feature a while back that converts the links and plays them right here. Actually, it might have been OK if I had just added a note to the top of the post about the language. Then those who didn't want to see it could have just refrained from clicking the start button.
-
You know....that WAS funny but the language is a bit rough for this site. For those of you who are OK with the language and want to see it, just go to http://www.youtube.com and search for "downfall", including the quotation marks and it will come right up for you.

WOW....that looks like the new fuel injected/turbo charged one. You are going to have your hands full. Congrats, hope all goes perfectly for you all.
-
I'm sure that's not a piggy backer. Looks like a fiberglass trailer. Very nice.
-
Very nice indeed. I mean...it's not a RSV but hey....we don't mind you slumming it around us.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a new OEM seat or aftermarket. There are still aftermarket seats available. Corbin for one: http://www.corbin.com/yamaha/ventmenu.shtml There website is terrible now but I think that Saddleman still makes their RoadSofa for the first gen also. http://www.saddlemen.com/metric/metric.html and there's the Russell Day Long http://www.day-long.com/new_pages/yamaha.html

A lot of the new phones have an entry "ICE" programmed in. You just add the number that you want used.

I really don't think it's "spin" and don't know that it explains everything but I think that a big part of it is that most universities here now are ultra left wing in their teaching and ideologies. One of the left wing ideologies is strict gun control.

hmmmm.....sounds like a pretty darn good deal. As for using the cyclegadget cable, the problem is that my headsets are AirRiders and the microphone is integral with the left speaker so I won't be able to cut the speakers off. The speakers are too tight against my ear so I wouldn't be able to use them with the ear buds. If I have to, I'll just buy a cheap J&M headset to play with.
