Squid....Looking for a trunk luggage rack for my Venture. I see that someone else in the "Want To Buy" is looking as well. No sense posting there until he gets his. Eck....Thanks for the link for the free stuff. I'll go over the listings later today. Regards.........Boomer

Good grief....I just found it. If it was a snake I'd be dead by now. Sorry for bothering ya............ Boomer....the blind.

Very nice job! Have you given any thought as to how many LEO's will be pulling you over to check the trailer contents?
-
Is it possible that a "Wanted To Buy" section could be set up here on our Site? Yes I'm looking to buy a Venture part !
-
That should be done as you are in the process of signing on for Insurance IMHO. I drove my Agent nuts for 3 hours with QUESTIONS and laying out WHAT I WANTED for coverage. And I made damn sure he explained to me every part of my Policy which is cloaked in the "legal terminology" the Insurance Industry uses. Yes I probably pay more than most but I ride with a peace of mind that no cheap Insurance Policy could ever provide. I'm can't fathom the mindset of someone who will spend thousands of $$$ to personalize/customize their bike yet go with the minimal/cheapest Insurance that is out there.

I used those very plans and had my Flag rack made of HD aluminum....the whole rack has been powder-coated black enamel. It fits perfectly into my VentureDad trailer hitch. On the upper eyebolts of the rack I simply zip tie them to my helmet holders as that does not put a lot of stress on the helmet holders. My Flag poles are also the same material/paint as the Flag rack. I fly the 3x5 American Flag and the 3x5 Patriot Guard Flag on all Missions. On a Midnight Venture the whole set-up looks really sharp! The rack/poles set me back about $400 but the PGR Missions and what we do are important to me so cost was not an issue. Note: I put 2 extra grommets in each of the 3x5 Flags to keep them tight against the poles with zip ties. There have been times when doing a Mission where we end up on the Interstate doing speeds of 60mph....no problems at all!

When I crashed in July-08 Geico was on the spot about having the scoot taken care of. The Adjuster had the Dealer strip the whole scoot down to the frame, inspect every part, and set all damaged parts aside. The Adjuster collected ALL damaged parts (even my helmet) and authorized the Dealer to order and install new OEM parts only. Nothing on the bike was allowed to be re-painted. I didn't have any after-market parts damaged but it's my understanding that Geico would not have covered that unless my Policy specifically covered such parts. You have the right to be there with the Adjuster when he inspects your scoot. My Adjuster was willing for me to be there but I was home hurting and the scoot was out of State to boot. My bike came home in Showroom condition and all it costs me was the Deductible which I selected when I bought the Policy. Wish I could tell you something good about Allstate but I have heard nothing good about them from anyone who rides a scoot. Good luck with your bike!

Regardless of the manufacturer I have never had good results towards longevity with any air horn. Altho I have Carbon One's horn bracket for the Stebel I have not purchased that air horn. While I recognize that LOUD is better I'm somewhat reluctant to spend the $$$$$$ for a pricey air horn only to see it fail within a year or two. Like you George I am seriously looking at electric horns for my Venture which can do as well as the Stebel air horn and last a long time as well. With Winter upon us I now have the time to snoop out all the makes/models that are out there.

Don't bring a lot of cash with you. On the Ship everything you buy will be put on your Room Key Pass. You will settle your Bill with the Purser long before the Ship does final docking. The Disney Cruise ship does NOT have a Casino on the ship. All the other Cruise Line ships do have Casino's on board. Have a great time....I know you will all love the adventure!

Wife and I + 2 sons have gone on 2 Disney Cruises. Worth every penny IMHO. Make sure you alert the Cruise Ship Staff of any medical conditions. You will all be treated like royalty I can assure you. Renting a RV will cost big $$$$. Why not take the train down to Disney? They (Disney)will pick you up at the train station and transport you right to the Cruise Ship. Don't overpack on the clothes! Laundry and Dry Cleaning service is available 24/7 on the Ship. You'll be amazed at all the activities available for both adults and the kids. Simply not enough hours in each day to see/do everything. Expect to gain a bit of weight too....the food is to die for....and you can have meals brought right to your cabin 24/7 as well.

I have OnStar and have been very happy with it. Several times I have used it to report serious accidents (I have seen on the road) and my cell phone was in a dead zone. My Insurance Co. gave me a hefty cut too because they(OnStar) can track/locate the truck if it is stolen. I especially enjoy the cell phone service which is hands-free and I can crank up the volume to really hear the incoming caller. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it IMHO.

What a little beauty she is!! The last time I looked into a set of gorgeous peepers like that it cost me a trip to the Altar........That was over 25 years ago. I never get tired of looking into my wife's eyes....except when she is PO'd of course.....

I'm looking for the tail bone relief that this mod will provide. On a long ride day in excess of 400 miles the posterior discomfort is something I can live without. With a 36" inseam my feet have no problem finding the ground on the bike.

Shipped my seat off to Rick Butler this morning. I have parked my butt on 2 Venture seats that he has done his Mod to and I am very confident in his craftsmanship.

New Idea for Air Filters
BoomerCPO replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Those filters really look nice! Could you provide info on them and cost? -
My local Dealer has laid off 4 of his 6 Sales Reps. He still has 6 Service Techs and I don't think he will cut any of those guys as they have all been with him for many years. Even with Winter here the Service Dept. is going strong because guys are trailering the bikes in to get work done before Spring gets here. Between this Site and my Service Manual I hope to learn enough to do most of my own wrenching.....now if I could talk my Chief Financial Officer into letting me have a heated garage I'd be a happy camper!

Yer right Wayne it is a training scenario. I overlooked the padded upper suit the "perp" is wearing. You'll notice tho that the pooch went for the nearest extremity;which happened to be the left arm. Perps are predictable about presenting their arms when a pooch is coming at them.
-
Nice work by the pooch! I'm surprised that the LEO Handler turned the dog loose on that perp tho considering the JERK was throwing lead at the LEO's. Pity the pooch didn't nail the guy by the throat and save the taxpayers some $$$$. Yes I know Police dogs are trained to go for the extremities but it doesn't hurt to dream!

GeorgeS are you OK? I'm very, very worried about you

The brief news clips of the flooding out there do NOT look good. Prayers and good thoughts for the safety of George and family. Regards and respect...........Boomer -

On the day my switch failed I had just gassed up the bike. I noticed that the key was hot but there was nothing I could do about that. When I re-inserted the key into the switch the failure happened and the key locked up in the switch and I was unable to even start the engine. Luckily I have a good Dealer nearby. The scoot was picked up within 30-45 minutes and on her way to the Shop. Dealer installed a new switch with no questions asked as the bike is still under Warranty. There is a procedure in the Tech Section for bypassing the ignition switch in an emergency with the use of a toggle switch. That toggle switch bypass is now in place on my Venture so hopefully I will never be stranded because of switch failure. Good luck with yours. ps: I think Yammi charges about $125 for a new switch assembly.
