Aww, come on. Mardi Gras should last forever. That's it. Let's turn New Orleans into a theme park. Nothing but great food, Great Music, and Mardi Gras. We had yet another great year at Mardi Gras in the Crescent City. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Why, I have even been know to delay my enlistment to the USAF to see another MG. Saved up all my leave time to come back from England for it and get out early to see it. I hope I never grow up. Apparently my wife hopes the same thing about me! Not sure if that is a good thing or not - lol.

WHO DAT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAINTS IS ALL DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PARTY IN DA QUARTER, HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wish my DAD could have been here to watch and celebrate with us. Either back home in N.O. in the Irish Channel at Parasols or at the house. Drinking some Dixie or Jax beer! Remember going to the first game at Tulane stadium as a cub scout. Great memories and finally a SUPER memory after a lot of heartache.

Wasn't in the Navy. I was in the Air Force, but we worked with a number of different ships to provide assistance. Here is a picture of our Flr-9 that allowed us to provide occasional assistance. http://www.secret-bases.co.uk/IMG/chicksands-CDAA.jpg If you know what it is - wohoo. If not, it is just a big antenna and we can leave it at that.

Tom, You should check your phone. You may already have the ability to run your MP3s on the phone and connect it to the bike. Same with if you have a GPS. Some if not all have the ability now to store and play MP3s. You may need to purchase a memory card for storing the music for either the phone or the GPS.

Just curious. So are you going to work as a civie for the Army or the no such agency? I was stationed at RAF Chicksands 6950th USAFSS (later the ESG) after initially getting orders to report to no such agency. If you have to shoot me to tell me, I don't need to know - lol. Good luck either way.

Ron, From a former USAF and LaANG member thank you very much for your service and please keep your SA up. Joe

Wow, looks like you had a great time. So sorry we missed it. Definitely plan on making one as soon as I can resolve these medical issues, just not brave enough to venture (ha I made a punny. Ok, I quit that, now!) far from the house. Baileydude

I would highly recommend the USB Removable HD method. You can get a TB (1000GB) of storage for around $100. Here is an example: http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4622464&sku=I21-6238&cm_re=Homepage-_-Spot%2011-_-CatId_8_I21-6238

Hey Don, Got love life, always interesting.:rotfl: We catch a break in the kids are not going to be available. So we were really looking forward to going on the run to Avery Island.:hihi: Middle of last week, I start having problems. I finally break down and go to the doc and it is kidney stones. All he gives me is pain pills which I can't take and work. I still have not passed them yet and now have an appointment for a CT scan on Monday. Most of the time it is a constant dull ache, but of course for a little tabasco flavoring:stirthepot:, there are the times of excrutiating pain.:225: So we are not going to make it this weekend. We are going to try to make the Central Ms run to the casino. Maybe we can catch up then.

I have been looking to replace mine as well. Would love to know what else is out there besides the K's - not impressed. Not sure about the weights issue either, and after using a cheap wrist rest, would definitely be interested in that.

Haven't really named it, but "My preciousss" comes to mind - lol

Well, pushing a bit over 300 myself, and a petite wife of 100-105 range, went to the IR this year loaded for bear, or a weekend with my lovely wife's essentials. The luggage rack hasn't been installed yet otherwise it would have been loaded down too. No problems on the interstate, mountains or backroads. Not saying anything about my wife's stuff - incase she has decide to start lurking. Referring to my weight - lol. -
You might want to check out the Gretna Festival on the West Bank of New Orleans. Outdoor concerts are excellent. 3 Day festival, $10 a day or $25 for the weekend. Lots of carnie food, local fund raisers selling food, and a few good local restaurants inside the Festival area. It is growing every year, not as big as the Jazz Fest but much better prices. Line up includes National Bands: Chicago, Kool and the Gang, Los Lobos, The Guess Who, Better Than Ezra, Joe Dee Messina. Regional Bands: Alan Toussaint, Dash Rip Rock, Cowboy Mouth, Louie Prima, Jr., Clarence Carter, The TopCats, Rocking Doopsie, J.J. Muggler, Frankie Ford. Lots of free parking too. Check the site. http://www.gretnafest.com/:banana::cool10:

Classic! I have had the honor of making friends with an elderly gentleman and his son at LSU baseball games. He was affectionately known as Gizmo. I even took a trip in 2003 to Omaha with them and the grandson to see LSU go 2 and b-b-que. Unfortunately, he passed away a couple of years ago. He too, had an LSU theme. He was wearing an LSU suit and tie, LSU tennis shoes, LSU beads, LSU shirt, and it was intimated that his underclothing was too! The whole place was bedecked in LSU posters/photos and what have you. Everyone from the LSU baseball games around where he sat, came either to the funeral or the showing. Most were pleased and had a great laugh with the family over his choice of attire. Joe

Not a prob Don. It was good for a laugh for Deeta and I . We are going to try our best to attend, but we may have a chance to see our youngest niece and nephew (twins) that weekend. Don't get the chance often enough, so that is the priority. But, and we have our fingers crossed that they are going to do that a different weekend. Joe

They also have one on permanent display at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio. It is on the ground - almost close enough to touch. Awesome plane. It flew for about 15 years without most of the world knowing it exsisted.

Go figure, you would remember my wife's name - lol. :stickpoke:It is Joe not John. No worries, you are not the first person to get my name wrong. Looks like it may be a fun trip. At work presently, need to check the calendar and with the boss about the date. Look forward to it. Joe & Deeta

Not sure if you are still active duty or a reservist, but I would go to the JAG's office and talk with them. They can possibly help or atleast provide you some guidance in handling this as I am sure this has unfortunately happened to others in your situation. Legally, is the best way to ensure your protection.

Such a cool Post!!!!!!!! I just got out of the Air Force in 1982 and am still not mechanically inclined (almost was refused entrance into the Air Force because my mechanical score was soooooooo low . Fortuantely my other scores were off the chart) so I convinced my Mom to get me a loan. The premise was I couldn't afford a used car since I couldn't figure out the difference between a wrench and a spatula. Couldn't believe she agreed - she hated the thought of one of her children on a motorcycle being a nurse:no-no-no:. But it was either a brand new 1981 or 82 Yamaha XS 400 Special II. Didn't have it a week and it drag me into a 15 foot deep canal - left the choke on and was trying to make a 90 degree turn from a stand still and being young, stupid, and knowing nothing about motorcycle riding. My lesson was the ride home from the shop on the back of my bike - wohoo!! Survived it to move on to a Honda 70's CB750, then a 83 Venture Royale and now my 07 RSV.
