It has the most incredible catfish you will ever eat. Order the thin catfish. It is filet so thin you can almost read through it. It is then battered in a typical Creole/Cajun fashion. Great seasoning. Recommend tasting before adding anything to the food - that includes salt.

  3. I just used one on the ride from Baton Rouge to the IR in Arkansas with a mesh jacket. While I did not wear the jacket or the vest on the ride around Arkansas, I did on the longer hauls to and from the rally. It was a life saver. I was not nearly as dehydrated as normal. I am sure I would have had to stop more often for fluids. While it does not work quite as well in the humidity, it is still cooler. My wife who is a couple pounds (hundred) lighter than me did not wear the vest, was very pleased with the mesh jacket. I would definitely recommend you try again with your mesh jacket. I definitely agree with a need to stay safe when riding. But I believe part of the staying safe is being comfortable. You definitely make better decisions when you are not dehydrated or freezing. Joe
  4. We made it home from the IR and our vacation on Sunday. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves and meeting everyone. Thanks for all the insight and laughs. Look forward to hooking up again with everyone. Joe
  5. Darn, we won't be getting back till Sunday from the Rally in Ark. till Sunday:doh:. We are staying for the week up there. If you have another one later, please post again or shot me a PM. Have fun.
  6. I'd be interested in a couple of the mugs.
  7. Thank you all for the insight. Turns out, when I hooked my MP3 player to the Aux jack and selected the radio on my MP3 player the volume setting was fine for listening through the bike's system. However, when I switched the MP3 over to my copied files, I had to turn the volume on the MP3 player all the way up to hear it through the system. That unfortunately was why I was confused. Normally in other things tha I have had to play around with, the volume settings are generally the same. The disparity between the two volume settings is abnormally large. Again, appreciate all the help and insight.
  8. Yeah, I selected the Aux. I was testing it there and can hear the radio from my MP3 play through the system, but it will not play the MP3 files I have created. The player is a Samsung YP-T8.
  9. I am curious if anyone else has had a problem with their MP3 connection. I am trying to use mine and it works playing a radio station from my MP3, but my recorded music which is formated MP3 does not play. I am curious if it is an early version of MP3 on the bike or if I need to change the MP3 format of my downloads????? Thanks for any advice.
  10. Never had it done before. Definitely curious about having something done.
  11. Excellent idea. Are the turn signals clearly visible from the side as well?
  12. Hmm, really? :confused07: I would think that would be the case with the antennas gettting rusted. If plated properly and installed properly, they shouldn't rust in less than a year IMHO.
  13. Let's see, what did I learn from the DVD. Hmm, basically the most important thing from the DVD is to practice. I have been taught the same thing when I took a driving course years ago, but needed a great refresher like this. My biggest issue is doing the practicing part. If I try to get on the bike, my faithful Co-pilot wants to ride too. Don't like practicing much with a passenger till I have practice alone - funny that way. Oh well, good to see I am still doing the most important things mostly correctly.
  14. Yep, I can attest to the virtues of watching behind you. This weekend on the way home from New Orleans, I got surprised by a "gentleman" on a older harley passing me on the sholder on the interstate. I could tell I was not in trouble because he was an "experienced rider" with his barefeet up on his crashbars, almost horizontal on his bike as he past me doing in excess of 80mph. Note to self, keep an eye on the mirrors.
  15. Thanks for all the reponses. I look forward to trying them out. Maybe wife will like one too.
  16. I am curious. I have seen several posts about gear to stay warm when riding in colder weather, but nothing about gear for the warmer states. I would like gear that breathes a LOT. Considering in southern Louisiana, there is the constant race between the barometer and themometer as to which one reaches triple digits first. While I don't mind the net looking stuff, my wife finds it very uncomfortable - itchy to be exact. So I am open to most any suggestions. I just want some protection in case something unfortunate happens in the hot weather. Thanks,
  17. Okay, here is the geek in me. They actually paid $28 for the room. Room was actually $25 + $3 given back = $28 and $2 was kept by the bell boy totaling $30. The gentlemen in the room were oblivious to the actual cost, thus the belief they paid $27 because they each got a dollar back is built on a faulty premise.
  18. And you just thought conspiracy nuts are a new thing.:Im not listening to
  19. Wow all this time, I thought the gallon reserve did not count. The indicator lets you know when you were a gallon from your reserve. Hmm..............
  20. Not sure why we need to split off MP3 from the Cassette player. Doesn't it already have an MP3 connection. Atleast that is what I was told the jack was on the side of the cassette. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet to test it, but am curious. thanks
  21. I agree, what is the part number? Looked at the K&N site for filters and they don't have one for the RSV.:think:
  22. I have purchased a set of risers based on all the wonderful information on the site. My question is, do the bolts have to be torqued? Not that I know much about anything mechanical, but would like to ensure that the handle bars don't come off because I didn't tighten them enough. As always, thanks for all the wonderful help.
  23. Yeah, I just saw this and was thinking: Damn, I tried to ask a simple question and start a war!!!!!!!!! Now I got to go to the rally to see how this all ends up. Trying to get it co-ordinated with my lovely wife (Peggy Hill's school of learning - "Yes dear, you look pretty") and RCI so we can have a time share to stay for the rally. This looks like it will be fun or funny.
  24. I loved the movie, but the TV series is better and the Radio Show was the BEST!!!!! Oh and anything with Monty Python.
  25. I-10/I-12 corridor in Baton Rouge is a disaster during rush hour. Also, be careful with the trip back, believe there is still grating down on the I-10 over Lake Ponchatrain. Atleast it was there a month ago. Worse MC accident I ever saw the remnants of was a guy that laid his bike down on grating. Otherwise, I-10/1I-12 is in pretty good shape for a change.
