  2. I mostly always get above 45 mpg unless I'm runnning in excess of 70 mph. Whether I'm running through the hills of West Virginia or on two lane country roads it doesn't matter.....
  3. I get between 47 or 48 most of the time unless I'm 75 mph+ then it drops to about 42 mpg....

  5. There is several hams here locally that operates on two wheels. Most of us just uses a HT. I can set my HT in the cup holder and use a ear mic when traveling together. One member has installed a Icom 706 on his GoldWing. He mounted the faceplate on the dash and uses the hand mic... 73's, N8YOW

  7. Mine didn't work when I first got my scoot, I discovered that mine was just the fuse. For some reason I thinking it wasn't one in the fuse box that it was an in-line fuse, but I may be wrong...
  8. I couldn't believe the difference either, for just a little money and a couple hours...WOW What a Difference!
  9. The difference is as much as night and day, also changing to Progressive Springs is very easy and takes little time.

  12. I've used Interstate Batteries for several years in all my vehicles, and in the scoot. I got about 5 or 6 years on my last one and have about 2 years on this one without any problems. Interstate Battery also has a exact replacement with new probe that will plug up to the existing wiring....
  13. I read the other day that a study determined that the average for cars and trucks shown for every 5 mph over 60 mph, your mileage will decrease by 10%. Maybe this is true for motorcycles too. Best thing is to drive easy and keep the rpm's lower....
  14. I got mine from Owl, and replaced one on my scoot. Just drill out the hole and bolt in the new ball stud and makes an exact replacement for the stock ball stud. Works well!
  15. I always use the regular at 87 octane and don't have any problems. I mostly ride two up and get from 45 mpg and up...
  16. Here is a pic of mine. Its located at the top right corner of the tank cover. I use it to power my XM until I hard wire a plug in permantently...
  17. Allen, I am saddened to hear the news. I can not say anything that hadn't been said. I can not imagine the emptiness you must be feeling. I hope she is with the Lord and hope the Lord will be with you in time to come. You will be in our Thoughts and Prayers this week. I know we are a long ways away, but anything any Member can do for you I'm sure will be taken care of. Its good that you can come to this site and hopefully find some comfort among your friends at VentureRider.org.

  19. Congratulations! You both will enjoy XM. I have a Roady2 that goes from my scoot, company vehicle, house, and others vehicles. My wife has a factory setup in her Accord...we're both addicted....

  22. And how much did the lady get for spilling McDonald's Hot Coffee on her? Sounds like a major liability problem, especially when the workers stated they know about it.
  23. I used an Interstate Battery, works good, lasts good, it comes with the battery sensor too...
  24. I saw on tv a while back where some company was designing something like that for sport bikes. It goes around the engine to protect the bike doing tricks. It would protect very well against dropping them over, but none for touring bikes yet....

    My condolences to any parent that has lost a child. My children are 3 and 9, I just couldn't imagine....
