A friend of mine has a 86 Goldwing 1200 Interstate and his seat padding is gone. The seat looks good on the outside, but the inside padding is shot. He is setting on the metal seat pan which is very uncomfortable. He has looked on eBay, but had no luck. Does anyone has any suggestions on a good fix that doesn't break the bank?

Any of the area in the southwest part of West Virginia is nice. I've made the ride from Marlington north and circled back through Elkins several times. I have been scoping out some future rides, and actually Scenic Rocks and Black Waterfalls areas is at the top of my list next summer when I set off the first "West Virginia Skid-In". I also found another shorter ride I may use for a nice day ride. It would match the Tail of the Dragon Ride easily, but without all the law enforcement. I plan to ride one or two these road this fall before making my final pick. My wife now is even looking forward to the event next summer. So far everything is a GO! Hope you get to make it. :GREEN:

You're in beautiful country John. About anywhere in Pendleton County you'll find good twisties. I always perfer the Highland Scenic Highway near Marlington and any of US Route 60 near Hawks Nest is good too. If you make it up near Braxton County, Look us up! I hope to be out riding this weekend, it about time the leaves will be starting to change.

The *OFFICIAL* Gas Mileage Poll
Skid replied to Monsta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I mostly always get above 45 mpg unless I'm runnning in excess of 70 mph. Whether I'm running through the hills of West Virginia or on two lane country roads it doesn't matter..... -

install ham VHF radio?
Skid replied to Twenty7Delta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There is several hams here locally that operates on two wheels. Most of us just uses a HT. I can set my HT in the cup holder and use a ear mic when traveling together. One member has installed a Icom 706 on his GoldWing. He mounted the faceplate on the dash and uses the hand mic... 73's, N8YOW -

I've used Interstate Batteries for several years in all my vehicles, and in the scoot. I got about 5 or 6 years on my last one and have about 2 years on this one without any problems. Interstate Battery also has a exact replacement with new probe that will plug up to the existing wiring....

I read the other day that a study determined that the average for cars and trucks shown for every 5 mph over 60 mph, your mileage will decrease by 10%. Maybe this is true for motorcycles too. Best thing is to drive easy and keep the rpm's lower....
