Cool - that's neat when you can get your handle on your bike like that. I like it.

A friend of mine just bought the new 2009 Screaming Eagle - the Orange/Grey color - incredibly sharp looking bike - for 40K out the door with couple of options put on. The price for this trike I think is very respectable - especially given the cost to convert one as someone else had mentioned.

Thanks for asking about the West Coast gang - those "small quakes" just shake things around, maybe bust a glass or two - but here in No Cal anyway, we have been having a bunch of small ones - which I guess is better than the BIG ONE they keep saying is coming?!

I have a member in our chapter that has one on his Royal Tour Deluxe - he purchased that Royal from a mutual friend of ours. Meaning, that the seat was custom fitted/made for the original owner - however we are all "about" the same height, weight etc. I used the Russell seat for two weeks. I will say the seat is comfortable, what I didn't like was having to "climb" way forward towards the tank for stopping, whether at stop signs/traffic, whatever. I understand that that is normal for anyone with those seats and that you get used to it. I have a Rick Meyer seat on my bike - 200% more comfortable than the stock seat - but not quite the "barcolounger" and deeper cut that I am still searching for. Like Squid said, though, I know several people who have and swear by the Russell seats, just know that in stop and go traffic, it will take some getting used to.

Passing through Santa Fe, NM (Need Brake Job)
Lone Eagle replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
Hey, Pete - I am no mechanic - but reading Buddy's post - brought back memories of earlier this year when one of my buddies and myself replaced the rear pads. I was on a ride - and all of a sudden had no rear brakes. That is very scary - and I was one up - not pulling a trailer. I ended up having to replace pads AND rotor. Buddy was spot on - it was fairly easy, and it didn't take too long. I wouldn't wait - try and do something ASAP - it might save some money and headaches in the long run. -
WOW - that is sweet - great job. Whose fairing did you use?

The 4 corners as Eck said - Durango - Cody as Condor said - I think some of those are great places - and could attract the West Coast crowd out there. As YamahaBev said (or something to this affect) - let's have it somewhere where the weather will at least be decent when we get there - because for many of us from California - we would go across Nevada - and that ain't fun in the heat (I'm sure from the East might as well - I apologize, I haven't travelled that much in our Country). And, I would second what Squid said - I think the scenery around the main meeting place might be secondary - its about "shootting the breeze" with everyone, easy access to Restaurants, etc. Smaller rides will happen - but for many driving the 1500 ++ miles to get there - will be fun. Reading the fun everyone has at Don's Maintenance Day, Pork in the Pines, the Eureka event, it seems the comradery always comes first - with the riding secondary - I could be wrong.

HEY, YOU TWO - GREAT LOOKING BIKE. NOW YOU GOT NO EXCUSE NOT TO MAKE IT OUT TO THE VENTURE WEST IV RALLY - CONGRATS.

Not to highjack the thread - can you mount these risers on a Tour Deluxe? I thought you could - but someone told me that these risers won't work on the Tour Deluxe?
-
Wow, Scott, that is one gorgeous bike - good luck.

Hee Hee - as an eating club with a riding disorder - we don't know the difference sometimes between burgers, pancakes, waffles - etc. But this meeting place Jack is talking about is in Sacramento - so as not to confuse anyone. I will be leaving the Shell Station in Pleasant Hill at 7AM - see information in my previous post - so anyone from the bay area can meet me there and we will all ride up to meet the Sacramento group at the In and Out - and/or whatever is next door to In and Out.
