  1. Great news for both of you....healing is done better at home for sure. Take good care of her!
  2. We're going Brian. Now just to see if Vogel lines up! You are most welcome to come with us...but I gotta warn ya...we can be slow pokes as we both pull trailers and likely have kids with us. But they travel pretty good though. If BigBob goes you can hook up with him and spend the night here before we head out. That seemed to work good for him for all the trips so far.
  3. Do both vogel and the international back to back! We will attend both as we've wanted to do Vogel for some time.
  4. Great news....tell her to take it easy for a bit....by the sounds of her, she wont....but you can try anyway!
  5. Now that is funny! Scary but funny...I would have loved to see that! Poor deer must have figured it was going to be jerky soon!
  6. Perfect!! Son loves snakes! Well enough highjacking the thread...thanks for the answers....now the big wait!
  7. Well this novice did his own change over. I took off the false tank cover, side covers and front lowers. Carefully watch and place each screw you remove into its own area so you know where they belong later! If you have big mitts then it can be tight getting the wires in. I did one at a time so I wouldnt mess them up. It took me...and I am a dummy..about two hours to do it....some new curse words helped and a couple of beer. Made a huge differance in performance. Dont just do the wires.....replace the caps as well. The stuff is old. It may improve mileage but there are other things that affect that as well. Like diaphrams being a biggy.
  8. That sounds like the right size...thin walled deep socket...its tight in there.
  9. Sounds perfect then! Can the kids swim in the pond or do they need to watch for nasty critters? Serious question as I am out of touch as too what kind of nasty things may live there.....bad snakes, gators.......
  10. Well..diamondr sells passenger pegs for the RSV. If the RSTD (foot position) is the same then they should work. But scroll down to the bottom of the page and there are several posts, some with pics, for you to check out. It seems if the passenger is of the longer legged variety then these pegs may not be for them. And I am trying to remember if she is the longer legged variety! Mike....its likely to be one of those thing were she needs to sit on a bike with the things installed to see if she likes them.
  11. Nice offer John! It would be a great place by the sounds of things. I have stayed out of the voting or anything. I just wait and see where the next one is and if we can make it we will be there. The only thing that really stops us is the date. If its too early...June...we can't be at any ralley as we have kids in school and and will have an exchange student to pack off home. The dirt road is not a concern to me....but what happens to that road if it rains.....me and wet dirt roads dont get along very well as I tend to crash on em! The distance is a little closer than Kitchener which is nice too. We had bad weather coming home and it made for a very long 1400+ mile drive home! We are waiting in eager anticipation as to were we are heading next year! I need some more southern states to put on my map!
  12. To me the yellow means "Clear the intersection" cause the guys going the other way are going to start moving! If you are turning left....be very careful in Manitoba...specially Winnipeg....I once counted seven cars going straight through after the light turned yellow then red. We have had several bad accidents in Brandon (including fatals) because some of the country folk sort of panic and tried to complete their turn without waiting for the oncoming cars to stop. I tell our daughter this about the lights and crosswalks......it doesnt matter what color the light is for you....make sure that everything is stopped for you before setting foot on the road. Same goes for driving...me thinks. You can stop and be right.....you could also be dead right. Careful out there.
  13. Keep us in the loop with "Moms" surgery would ya. We do care and only have the best wishes for a very successful outcome!
  14. Great news Don! Prayers still being said.
  15. Sounds good Randy....pretty fair deal. It is too bad that Yammer didnt get so lucky. But it is good to see someone not get hosed to bad.
  16. Great story and great site. How is "Mom" doing now?
  17. Safe riding Puc! Sounds like a great time...much like Lowell's trips. Just do it!
  18. All the best to Jan...hope she gets home soon....the best healing is done there! Then she can make you crazy getting things for her!
  19. Glad it was a success Steve. Others I've known that have had it done wonder why they waited. Here they wont do it unless you are older than dirt...for the most part.
  20. You are right Goose, he did get his tire exchanged. He originally was hoping for Blaine to send him one without him having to buy it. We lose a little on exchange plus the drive down to the border to pick it up and taxes. Blaine did send him a new tire as ordered and took off the delivery I believe but my bud had to send the old one back to them. Not a real issue....it worked out. My bud was dissapointed with the tone of the email and frankly I was a little surprised as well. No, nothing bad was said.....but from what I understand, they have helped VR with a couple of bike fixes now and was surprised to hear that he didnt care what organization we belonged to. Thats it. And I am most happy that most of the members are having great success with them.
  21. That might be it Dan! Not bad for a guy that wasnt sitting around the same camp fire bsing! Thanks
  22. Shameless bummmmmp!
  23. While sitting around shooting the breeze in Kitchener...the topic of good glues came up. Someone mentioned a really great glue that was better than crazy glue, invisible and they used it to glue some..."angel wings" back on a ornament. Anyone remember this conversation? What was the stuff and how does one get some? Thanks
  24. :rotf: There is a bit of an inside joke there...reminiscing of that night around the campfire in Kitcener!
  25. This is what my buddy here encountered when his Avon front tire started "cracking" on him. This is his email to them: Blaine, The guys here in Brandon tell me their distributors will not give them credit for tires they haven’t purchased from them. Nobody wants to warranty it for me. I’d like to avoid the cost and wasted time making multiple trips to the border and have all the down time waiting for the new tire. How about you bill me for a new one and just credit me when you get the defective one back? I’ll have it off ship it back to you when I pick up the new one. I forgot to mention as well that I’m a Ventureriders.org member and got your contact info from the guys there. They tell me I was supposed to let you know as members buy at a discounted price? Too bad, so sad I guess, but I’d appreciate it if we could work something out on the return freight? Let me know. This is the reply: sorry you have jerks for dealers. I treat everyone equally no matter what club you belong to or what political party or color your skin is, and everyone, even my dealers pay the same price as you. If you order a replacement from my store and email me at the same time, I will deduct the freight from the new tire. You must return the defective one to me whether you are in Canada or columbia, or el salvador, or across the street from me in Tucson. I wont walk across the street to get it. YOu must return it. I will credit your card when I recieve the defective tire. blaine To me the tone of the email says something is not right...or am I reading more into this?
