1. Hello Everyone, I'm just about to become a new owner of a 2000 model XVZ1300A Yamaha Royal Venture Star. I'm already having some problems over here regards being able to get accessories for the bike. Its not very popular in this country and Yamaha Europe are beginning to discontinue the parts that I can see advertised from the star accessories web site. I am wondering if you can advise if there is a source for accessories for the bike in the US that would ship things to the UK........ These are the parts that I would be interested in getting for the bike. Front passing lamps STR-4XY35-40-00 Passing Lamp Mounts Fits '99~'09 Royal Star Venture STR-4XY35-10-00 Passing Lamps Fits '99~'09 Royal Star Venture Pannier Protector Rails STR-4XY72-70-00 Fits '99~'09 Royal Star Venture & '05~'09 Tour Deluxe "Leather Tank Bra with Pockets" STR-4XY49-10-01 Studded, BlackFits '99~'09 Royal Star Venture Headlight Visors STR-4NK58-10-00 Fits all Royal Star models, V Star 650 & 1100 Classic/Silverado and '99~'09 Road Star Standard/Silverado Hopefully someone in the group can assist.
2. Does anyone know if its possible to wire up Hazard warning lights on the Royal Star Venture. I've checked star accessories, but don't see any options within electrical. Has anyone managed to figure out how to perhaps get this feature wired on the bike ?
3. ok so ive been hearing a lot about SEA FOAM and its miracle work.... my 98 royal star that i recently bought with around 16300 miles on it....seems to backfire more than usual.... the last owner said it sat around for about a week or so, but i dont really trust him... i think the bike sat for longer than that... will the SEA FOAM better the backfiring problem??.... How should I use the SEA FOAM??... i know the bottle has directions but i wanna hear some of your techniques!! thanks!:bowdown:
4. I just got my V Star back from servicing at the stealer, didnt make out too bad, but thats not what this post is about, I took the bags off of the V Star when I took it in, so I figured I would check with Rick Butler about his saddle bag screws for the RSV. He said they would fit and its was a wise investment, it was a snap putting the bags back on without any tools, they come from the factory with allen screws and its a pain to take them off and reinstall them, not now. I recommend anyone who owns a V Star 1300 Tour get these, you wont regret it. Thanks again to Rick Butler for another fine product by one of our talented members..............
5. Is there any difference between 1999 to 2010 except for the colours?
6. I just bought my uncles 96 royal star with only 4300 miles on the ticker... A few months ago it would not run and leaked gas by the carbs, and he had it to the local dealership for "bend ya over" carb servicing. I took possession of it this weekend, and warms up fine, and idles fine, but when you crack the throttle it bogs... When accelerating from a dead-stop it bogs and I have to rev it and ride the clutch to keep it from stalling out. After that the initial low rpms it kicks in and accelerates fine, but still feels weak (though I have never ridden a Royal Star.) I really do not want to trouble shoot everything, and would like to get to the heart of the matter. So, based on my description would anyone have a good idea what it may be, and to remedy it? Thanks!
7. Does anybody else check this out? I have been checking their reviews of modular helmets and have gotten some good ideas. I also notice that this site is reviewed as follows: VentureRiders: VentureRiders is a very active site and by far the largest site in the world that is dedicated primarily to the Yamaha Venture, Royal Star Venture and Royal Star motorcycles. They also have a number of members that ride other brands as well, so check it out! It seems we get around quite well! Dave
8. Well we finally got some nice weather and I was able to work in my shop and install the gauges on my 1996 Royal Star. I used the 2" Equus gauges because they were the closest match to the speedometer and you can change the colour of the background lighting. Everything working and no leaks so far. Many thanks to Ponch for the water temperature adapter swap. Doug
9. hi well i hope this is in the right spot . i have a 2006 royal star tour deluxe . i would like some input on some white wall tire size front Bridgestone/g705g rear 150/90b15m/c some input on exhaust looking at roadhouse[ Yamaha Royal star Venture (99-10) Slash Cut Tip} looking for not to loud but deep rumble} back rest for driver seat . would this make the bike over dress thanks dave
10. Thought I'd drop into a couple of our local Yamaha shops and see what was available for windshields (other than stock). Like a wider one and maybe a bit shorter than stock. So, I asked the question.. "What options do you offer for windshields for a Royal Star Venture?" First dealer: "We have a few different ones but you also have to buy the mounting hardware." Me: "What mounting hardware? The windshield bolts to the existing fairing bracket." First dealer: "For what kind of bike is it?" Me: "A 2006 Royal Star Venture" First dealer: "Let me look" ... she goes through a couple catalogues muttering about the brackets and then says "We don't list anything for 2006, only 1996 thru 2001 for a Royal Star" Me: " I said Royal Star Venture.... they are made from 1999 thru 2010 and are all the same" First dealer: "Well, I don't list anything and you'll still probably have to buy the mounting kit" Me: "Forget it!" and I walked out. Second Dealer: (I asked the same question but spoke with a sales rep) "Yamaha sells one. I'll get a printout for you" He comes back and sure enuf, it's a shorter, wider one... to the tune of $288. Me: "What about non-Yamaha ones...??" Second Dealer: "I don't think anyone makes them ... and if they did, the quality just wouldn't be there." Me: "OK, thanks" ... and I leave. geeeeeesh! What the heck is the matter with these people around here... they just don't cater to the "touring rider" by offering much of anything in the way of accessories for the RSV, let alone knowing much about them it seems. I remember several years ago when I had my '85 Venture I had to go to a Kawasaki shop to get a new "non-Yamaha" windshield and a pair of Jardine mufflers coz the local Yammi dealer "couldn't get them".... it must be that Yamaha is very restrictive as to what their dealers can / can not sell.
11. Anyone know where I can get a maintenance manual for a 2009 V Star 650. My brother just won it in a Raffle for $25. It only had 800 miles. I would like to find a manual for him if possible and I know that if there is a manual for a Yamaha anywhere on the web, someone on this site would know where it is.
12. I didnt think to see if anyone from here was going or not but we just got back and had a great time with everyone from the indy star chapter and thought I would put some pics on.

14. First of all I would like to thank Squidley, Eusa1, and StudMuffin. Still need one more set though. For providing me with the parts I needed. I got a hold of some older Chrysler Emblems and starting hacking , dremaling , and I still am not done yet. But almost! I want you to tell me what you like or do not like. OR Don't even add the part. Should I place it on the bottom of the hatch or the middle? These are not even glued or set it. I just have them hanging and they still need to be cleaned up.. HEY , I gotta do something to keep me busy during this long long winter The one That (YOU) decide I should not use will go on my Trailer back-side. These are pics of Just the star and the other is with the star and logo. These are of just the star in the middle and lower of my trunk hatch # 1 - # 2 - These are of just the star with logo in the middle and lower of my trunk hatch # 3 - #4 - # 3 - The one with the star logo does form better on the hatch I noticed and it is a bit wider. Thanks for your in-put! Jeff

16. I stored my 2006 Royal Star Venture in my outside garage in November for the winter. I went to start it today, it would not let me turn the key in the ignition. I tried spraying WD 40 in the ignition but I still can not turn the key. Any suggestions on the cause? I am sure it is the right key.
17. I'm in the market for a Travel Cover for my RSV and I'm giving serious thought to buying the Star travel cover (STR-4XYTR-CV-R1). If you have one, would you mind answering a couple of questions? 1) Are the soft (non-scratching) areas for the windshield and trunk areas? 2) Are there grommets at the bottom so that the cover can be secured? Thanks!
18. I received this e-mail tonight from South Seattle - thought I would share. Dear valued customer: We here at South Seattle Sports Plaza, are facing a dilemma that has us torn between some directions in which we need to move to further provide you with all your motor-sports needs. First question is, do we drop our current discount to between 15 and 20 percent like all the other dealers, giving that extra profit to Google and Yahoo to stay in the top positions of their search pages? Or, do we keep our discount at 27 percent and cut our expenses on search engines and hope our customers keep spreading the word to receive the volume of business we need to support that high of a discount? On Yamaha’s last price update Oct 1st, they not only did a major price increase but they also dropped the dealers’ profit margins on thousands of items. One example is the new Star custom wheel kits. The front wheel for a Road Star, part number 5C7-f54E0-V0-00, retail is 1449.95 and dealer cost is 1087.50. Our price is 1087.46 on our website. This is like many other accessory items that have a 25% or fewer profit margin and we loose money. That is the bad news. In these times things have increasingly slowed and we are in need your business and that of your friends now and in the future. So for the good news, we are going to leave the 25% discount on accessories where it is and has been for the last couple years and increase the parts discount to 30%. We will keep these prices until February 2009 and then change the parts discount to 25% and the accessories discount to 22%. I would also like to add that right now our Star inventory is well stocked and we have a lot of items that Yamaha even has on backorder. When ordering parts, if you see something that says backorder, we still might be able to get it out of Japan or even have it in stock. If you order a backorder item and it will be awhile before available, we will contact you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. 20. I asked the question on the Star site if there were any problems being a member of another orginization and a star member. The answers ranged from no problem, to no problem as long as we don't wear the other org. patch or show thier colors, to it doesn't matter Venture Riders and Venturers are just forum sites they're not Orginizations with real members. My wife and I are not renewing our membership with star because of this. We discussed it and decided we didn't want somebody else telling what we can wear, how to wear it, and so on.We have an venturers decal on our trunk, and in the next couple weeks will order the Venture Rider decal to go there also. We hate to be like this as we have made a few friends at Star but if it has to be then....Have talked to a couple of folks here and have enjoyed the site, and the knowledge of some of the members. I guess what I'm getting at is, we have found a new home. Hope ya'll don't mind. We'll try not to get to rowdy!!!!!:confused24:
21. I took delivery of a new leftover 2007 Royal Star Venture. I am so pleased with this motorcycle. The Venture is my 21st Bike and I absolutly love this machine! Thanks Yamaha! Happy Venture Rider
22. Well its almost time for the Lone Star Rally in Galveston Tx. Its Halloween weekend as always. I was wondering who is interested in going. I am leaving early Sat morning to head down to Galveston and have a room reserved on the SeaWall for Sat night. Anyone interested in meeting up and riding down there together? My room is at the Best Western and I will have a spare bed if anyone decides they want to stay the night. I hear that past crowds for this event has been up to 400k people :wow:with every kind of bike imaginable and tons of things to look at and do. Let me know if you want to meet up and head down there. :hurts:
23. Files Updated on 10/28/2009 Minor corrections done to both schematics. Text realigned for easier reading Gary I have completed the 1999-2009 Royal Star Venture schematics. The 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Wiring Diagram Rev B file shows all the connectors and resembles the wiring diagram in the 1999 Yamaha Royal Star Venture service manual that is referenced in the Second Gen and Royal Star Technical Library on this site. The 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Simplified Circuit Diagram Rev B file is the complete wiring for the bike in a much simpler format. Since the wiring connectors are not shown, components can be rearranged in a more logical format that reduces the wires running back and forth. Some of the switches are shown in a more convenient manner also. This file would probably be the one most used for trouble shooting. I have also added a legend to this group to help users understand the schematics better. If you find anything that needs changed on these schematics, let me know & I will fix it. The files will look best when plotted at 11" x 17" size or larger. Office Max, Kinko’s and Staples as well as others can do this for you for a minimal charge if you want a printout. I paid $1.00 for an 11" x 17" color print at Staples. All you have to do is take the PDF file that you download to their store and they can print it. Double click on underlined blue text below to down load the schematics in PDF format. Files were created in Adobe Acrobat 7.0. 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Wiring Diagram Rev B.pdf 1999-2009 Royal Star Venture From 1999 Yamaha Royale Star Venture Service Manual. Pages 9-7 & 9-8. I could not find anything similar in the information I had available. 99-09 Yamaha Royal Star Venture electrical info.pdf This file is a compilation of various sheets from the 1999 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Service Manual that would be helpful when working with electrical system. They are not modified in any way, just as they appear in service manual.

25. I noticed this item didn't show on any of the Yamaha accessories list but Crusier Customizing still had it on their site. I ordered it and this was the response I received today. Good Afternoon , Unfortunately the manufacturer Star Yamaha has discontinued part number STR-4NK27-19-01 and it is no longer made available to us. Due to this unavailability, this item has been removed from you order. How many other items were dropped I wonder ? Keith
