  1. HERES TO A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE EASTER EVERYONE
  2. The State of SD just launched this web site: http://www.southdakotarides.com/ While I just did a quick look around, it seems to have a LOT of information for those who plan to visit up here. It has some interactive maps, web cams, and other stuff on it. If anyone does get up here, let me know if you want to go to the best DQ I have found, right here in Madison!!!! Stay Safe, Dave
  3. I have been searching for over an hour trying to find an exploded view of a trailer hitch to fit my 85 with light bar, could someone help me out? I have been up all night working on the beast, putting her back together in anticipitation of warm weather, and if I had an exploded view with a part list I have a good friend who could weld it up for me. Also where would be a good place to order a clutch kit and fork seals to complete my mechanical problems? If I can get her reliable and safe I will worry about looks and my broken fairing next winter if possible. Thats the problem of riding on a budget, a lot to do in order to have it as right as possible. I'm just thankful that I have tools and a little knowhow to keep my costs down. If not, I will have to part with her. I do appreciate any help as always. I talked to someone this AM about these things but he was unable to help. May God bless all and keep us safe is my prayer!!! Jeff Boyter
  4. Another spring storm (tornados) on the way to Central KY The Lexington mayor asked businesses to close at 3:00 so workers could go home. Schools let out 2 hour early. They told everyone at my work to go home at 2:30. Just going to ride it out. Be safe everyone. Dennis
  5. Just sharing the info. Do with it what you wish. http://pastebin.com/NYNQXtps Don't worry, the link is safe.
  6. Hey Boss, I heard there are Monsters Of Loch Nelson, and now Lions....Is it safe to camp in your backyard????
  7. May this year bring you excellent health and miles of safe riding, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all and your families.
  8. HAPPY NEW YEARTO this whole crazy crew here. A healthy, wealthy and safe one.
  9. With the warm temps there will be a lot of bikes on the road this weekend. http://www.weather.com/maps/activity/travel/usweatherday3_large.html Especially Saturday. If your traveling try to get to your destination before 6pm. Quite a few like to start drinking early. Be safe... Happy New Years!
  10. We have a rather large (72x48x24) fire safe at work that is used to store documents and they want me to put some lighting in it. I need to get 120v power into the safe but it cannot compromise the fire rating of the safe. Are there any kits available to accomplish this? Or a DIY way?
  11. Have you seen this statistic. 98% of all harleys sold are still on the road. The other 2% made it home. Ride safe, Mike
  12. Thanks Dale (Midnight Rider) and Cindy (Cinderella) for the help getting us moved. If anyone needs a gun safe moved, Dale now has experience.
  13. Thinking of buying a 83 which is in great condition except that it "suddenly" will not go into 4th or 5th gear. Any ideas on what I might be getting into here. Asking price is $500 and I can do the work myself! Ride safe, Mike
  14. Got home safe about an hour ago. As usual at one of Lew's parties, had a wonderful time! :clap2: There is good news that I will let Lewis tell. There is bad news. The Alabama riders kicked out butts on the fund raising challenge. There were also several more of them that showed up in Memphis today.
  15. With the potential threat of Hurricane Irene hitting the coast this weekend, should anyone need to evacuate, our doors are open for you. In South Carolina, we are located basically in the center of the state, around 120 miles from the coast, so you would be on safe ground. Just let us know if we can help, my cell phone is on my profile, give us a call. Bobbie and George
  16. Everyone up the Eastern Seaboard pay attention to this girl, she means business. We hope everyone stays safe and has little to no damage. Right now the eye is projected to make landfall about 15 miles from us and then go right over us. Everybody in low lying areas head to higher ground she is going to be a big Rain Maker ala Floyd. Only she will be moving faster thank God. So play it safe please. Wayne
  17. Here's a few pictures from my latest tour. I just got back last week. Vegas to Calgary and back. The 2011 Goldwing was a rental and I can't speak highly enough about it. My 1996 Goldwing is a great Motorcycle, and Honda just keeps refining it. I also have a 1992 Venture Royale that I bought new in 1993. It is the best Motorcycle I have ever owned. I just wish more parts (e.g. Fairing parts) were still available. Thanks, ride safe, and have a great weekend ! 20. Haven't seen anything lately about PIP so thought I'd throw it in the mix of Cody messages. Got reservations set for Pines motel in Lake George. Whoever wins the chili cookoff in Cody is welcome to bring on down their winning recipe and challenge mine. Yes Russ, I'll even let you bring out your Betty Crocker oven (I'll supply the light bulb) and you can cry in your chili when your beat. Hope everyone has a safe trip to Cody and enjoy the scenery. Lots of Pictures are appreciated by those who couldn't make it. Ride safe, God Bless. Mike
  21. Decided to replace the speakers in the '91. Got a set of 4" 3-Ways for $23.00 at Wally World. When I pulled the grills this morning and the left grill came out in pieces. I think I can get by for the time being, but I don't think this grill will last too long. Any help finding a replacement will be appreciated. Y'All Ride Safe... And have a good 4th.....

    tires

I don't post much here, mainly just read other's posts but I'm on quite a bit. What concerns me is the last few days I see other riders having tire issues, Avon's with the sidewalls cracking and tire blow outs. I kind find it hard to believe that us riders are negligent on tire care such as inspecting them, and maintaining tire pressures ect. What is the consensus that perhaps like alot of things now that the quality of materials are lacking? I guess in the back of my mind I'm thinking that the costs of raw materials in today's society that manufactures are going the cheap route, and lack of proper quality controls to produce a good safe product. When I get back to Pa. my other bike will need tires and I'm concerned on what to get. I put the e3's on the venture two years ago and couldn't be happier with the bike. How old can tires actually be to actually be safe to use? I realize that tires have a manufacture date, and set on a shelf for a while, but how old before the safety factor comes into play? Any other's see a possible trend here? Thanks..

  25. but It will be a proud day when I get to where I am going. I am going to Omaha Ne to see my son retire from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant on Friday 6-17-2011. There will be a retirement ceremony and a reception to follow. After 20 years of service and several trips back and forth to war he is finally done and safe. All the years he has been in the service I really didn't know what his career was all about, only thing he could say was it was all top secret and will tell me when he is done. I hope to find out. What's good is he will retire on Friday walk out and return on Monday 6-20-2011 with the same job at 100K a year plus his retirement. Needless to say I am proud of my son. I will post some pictures when I return on Sunday or Monday. Any members who have family in the service God bless them and may they return home safe and sound. Star4772
