  1. I need a set of first gen mufflers, doesn't matter so much on the condition, just looking for a really cheap price, will pay for shipping. Going to do some "reconstructive" work on the mufflers, so the quality is not that much of an issue Thanks! -CJ
  2. I need a pair of first gen pipes, I want them to be very inexpensive and it doesn't really matter on the quality. I plan on drilling them out anyway, so if anyone has any pipes, please let me know THANK YOU!!! -CJ
  3. Which one should I get? I like to play race car games and anything that flies... simulator's, fighters, helicopters. Also I understand the PS3 has a better quality Blue-ray / DVD player...?? What's your experience guys/gals/kids ?? What about the Wii ??
  4. Has anyone purchased a customdynamics led taillight/brake light? Thoughts and comments on quality, brightness, etc.
  5. Hi there, can anyone recommend a retrofit for the rear air shock and compressor system for the first gen bikes?.... mine is toast and I think I want to just install a quality monoshock and chuck all the old components. thanks for any advice Gary
  6. Saw this reseach on another section and it sure looked good... http://www.gdlcycles.com/general/PU/PU-12-94470--1.jpg EMGO part number 12-94470 listed several places at $20 This might be a real thing... Has anybody TOUCHED one to see about quality The company DOES show it as a direct replacement item for the 83-93 Venture.
  7. Looking at Bub Sleepers and Baron Bag-Slashes for a 2006 RSTD right now. Not looking for anything too loud, just a good quality, good fitting slip-on. Any sort of consensus on this around here?
  8. Wow, these are awesome. Got them put on tonite and man, they really add to the front of the bike. Can't wait to try them out on our way to Florida this weekend. My compliments to him and his friend and the quality product they turned out. Way to go!!!

    Leathers

I am in the market for a solid leather jacket. I hear that a leather company called Fox Creek makes an outstanding jacket. They are pricey tho. Anyone use one or can tell me one way or the other about their quality. Thanks Nevada Max
  10. I was wondering if anyone has purchased one of these covers from this company for their RSV. If so was it a good experience and good quality. It looks like a decent idea as it is compact. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Jim http://www.tourkingcovers.com/shop/
  11. Hey folks, this is my first time to post a thread. What I want to do is replace oem antena w/ shorter black antenas w/o loosing reception quality. What is a good brand and where can i fetch-um? Thanks in advance. Carl:7_6_3[1]:
  12. I would like to give a big public "Thank You" to Squidley. I asked around for info on RK muffler brackets and he had a set for me. Top quality in service and craftsmanship. Thanks Squidley!!!!!
  13. I found this on another message board and thought i would share it with you all. Went to Daytona yesterday anxious to see the new Kawasaki Voyager 1700. Kawi had one bike to show and it seemed to be the center of attention. Kawasaki seemed to have done a pretty good job on the styling and the frame mounted fairing was nicely laid out, though I didn't much care for the 1969 Chevy Camero style analog gauges. Would have like something a little more high tech but hey, that's just me. As everyone was looking it over, one guy popped open the rear trunk and commented that it was plastic and not fiberglass. Thin plastic. Also, when I sat on it, I felt like the seat was pushing me into the gas tank. I had my brother with me and he agreed that it was a good looking bike. Still no price or delivery dates. While I went there with the intent that I wanted to buy one, after seeing the real thing, I changed my mind. The manufacturing quality of this bike can be summed up in one word - cheap. Even though assembly workmanship looked good, chrome was very low quality and most likely would pit or dull in a short time. The general quality of materials was low and had a very "made in China" look. The bike was never started while I was there, so can't comment much on the engine. My personal opinion is that while the Voyager is a great looking bike and most likely would pass as a low cost alternative to a Harley or Goldwing , I would still choose a Star Venture instead for one reason - build quality. __________________
  14. BEER-30, These are BEAUTIFUL!!! Being US Army and knowing high quality Fabrics and Sewing and Strapping these are 100% US Army quality. As promised I posted these pictures but not responsible for the flood of new orders LOL. Also Ordering was a pleasure and not to mention getting a UPS Tracking # via Email = FIRST CLASS SERVICE all the way. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/pics032.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/pics033.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/pics034.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/pics035.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k249/frogmaster_2006/pics036.jpg
  15. I'm investigating new mufflers and it is between the BUBS sleepers or the KhromeWerks slip ons. I don't seem to run into other Royal Stars that have made the switch to compare. Does anyone know a site or sites that have the sounds? Also, Anyone that has experience with both, regarding quality.
  16. I've installed the Polk 401db speakers in my 06 Midnight tonight.. Man, there's a job ya only wanna do once, especially in the trunk!! But was well worth it.. I don't think the volume is any higher than the clarion speakers but the quality is better to my ears. To my ears.. the Polks at volume 20 is like the Clarions at volume 17 or 18-ish.. Not sure.. One of the rear speakers on mine was damaged so I had to replace it.. I find these speakers to have a better quality sound, a deeper and richer tone to them.. Tomorrow I'll find out what they are like on the road..
  17. These days I find that most products rarely come-up to what's advertised. But today I installed a Mix-It2, so that I could hear my satelite radio and the Garmin at the same time without an overall reduction in sound volume and quality, and without having to use a switch. Not only does this thing work as advertised but it has taken all static out of the system and improved the sound quality. And not just on the XM but overall! I am not generally easy to satisfy, so when I find a product that truly exceeds expectations I figure they deserve a little word of mouth advertising. www.mixitproducts.com
  18. which one is better im looking at both and noticed that the only Diffrence is size but wieght capacity is about the same, now I have found throught cyclegiant.com a rack that should fit both GW or the RSV pic quality not the greatest but the price is pretty good for only 73 bucks, for the rack OME through yamaha I can get it for 100 buck give and tack. Now my question for those that have seen both or even had both is, which one in quality is a better product? :bang head:
  19. Hi - Is anyone on this forum familiar with any quality and trustworthy dealer/independent Yamaha service provider in an around Fredericksburg, VA? I can go North towards Woodbridge, South towards Spotsy or West towards Culpepper. Thank very much in advance, TTW
  20. My brother sent this to me and it's definately something to ponder. And they're building bikes!! http://www.coatesengine.com/ http://www.coatesengine.com/videos.html http://www.coatesengine.com/motorcycle.html I wish the motorcycle video were of a better quality, and from what I could hear the thing sounded kinda funky. But they're taking orders.... Wonder how a Venture V4 would behave..
  21. I plan on purchasing a set of headsets this year....I use a half helmet. Which headset seems to be the best quality and reliable? Thanks for your input. randy
  22. I just wanted to give everyone my recommendation on a portable FM Modulator that you can use on your motorcycle. It comes with an adapter for use in a cars accessory port/lighter, but it is also portable via a set of batteries, so you can have it anywhere on you or the bike. http://www.buy.com/prod/cables-to-go-port-authority-2-mp3-to-fm-stereo-adapter/q/loc/111/10407003.html It's sound quality is the best I've heard from modulators, and it's convenience of being able to use it with any stereo tuner is a HUGE bonus.
  23. Folks the thing we are seeing with the toy industry is just the tip of the iceberg. In the 35 years I have worked, after four years in the military, most all of it has been in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control area of manufacturing. I spent over fifteen years for a company that made electric motors for the appliance industry with the last eight being the Corporate Quality Manager over four plants in three different states. Their product was the small motor usually used as the condensing fan motor in refrigerators, water coolers, coke machines, etc. When I left, they were producing 65,000 motors a week. Without naming names I will say that the largest customer's name started with a "W" and ended with an "L" and they made refrigerators and a lot of other appliances. At the time I left, the price of the OEM motor to them was about $7 each. If it was an aluminum frame motor, it was generally a fifteen year motor and if it was a cast iron frame motor, it was generally a twenty year motor. That means that under normal circumstances you did not have to replace that motor for about fifteen years at a cost of $75 to $100 bucks, if the refrigerator was still worth it. This included the service call. The motor sold to the general public for about $30 from a place like Granger. Several years ago, this famous customer decided they wanted to get motors from China and save a few buck on each refrigerator. Now the motor they are using is about a five year motor. Therefore, for them to save a couple of bucks, it would cost the average homeowner up to $200 to keep that refrigerator running over ten years. But then again, they are hoping that by five years you will want another new $1,500 or more refrigerator anyway. To put this into human perspective, the company I worked for had a plant that employed about 200 people (largest county employer) in one of the poorest counties in east Tennessee. This company had some of the most loyal employees that put out some of the best quality. The return rate on their motors was less than one tenth of one percent. That is less than one in a thousand, and historically half of those returns were customer induced problems. Now that plant is closed. After that company, I worked for a company that made aluminum and zinc castings. They also had three plants and then spent millions building a plant in Mexico. One of the castings they made was the case for the Tremeck six speed transmission that went onto the Corvette. They paid seventy cents per hour for labor to make parts for a transmission to go into a $60,000 car. That company ended up closing three plants including the one in Mexico. I have now been with a company that makes tank type water heaters for over four years. Now, almost everything that we use other than the tank and jacket comes from Mexico or China. The only reason they are still in the US is the physical size of a water heater. It absolutely breaks my heart to see what this country is doing with their manufacturing. One of these days it will be just one big service industry. RandyA
