I read Don's thread @ http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15376&highlight=surging. In that thread he mentions "Surging", what would be the description of that. I run my mini Shuffle with a cassette adapter and it act like it changes sides when playing. It will always keep playing but there is a pause about every 15 seconds or so. Is this what Don is referring to? -
Last week when Don sent the email out about the new costs that have been incurred. I immediately responded and paid for a full year up front. Now before you think I am tooting my own horn let me explain to you why. I had narrowed my choice of motorcycles down to a either a Venture or a BMW 1200 LT. I ended up with the BMW. But for several years I had been a member of this forum reading how you guys reach out and help each other in very real and personal ways. I am a member of other BMW forums, but I haven't seen the level of camaraderie of this group. And I told Don this. So here I am with no Venture, but I would love to be a part of this group and if anyone in or near Wilmington, NC needs something or just a riding buddy, look me up. Thanks for letting me stay and be a member... George

Now that I can go without my glasses, I am looking to find a good pair of sunglasses. What do most on here use?? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Don H.

When this site seems slow can anyone that is having that problem please goto www.speedtest.net and run the test and post your results here. That would be good to help Don a little with deciding what to do next. Mine is currently 5374 kb/s down and 3130 kb/s up

several months ago, someone posted a link to a place that had replacements lenses for the accessory rear lighting. These are the small oblong red lenses that go in the chrome rear bumper and side panels under the saddlebags on a 1st. gen. I somehow have managed to lose this link. If anyone knows of what I am talking about and has that info, it would be greatly appreciated if you could repost it. Don H.

Please excuse me for saying , but sounds like we have crisis at the present time . Fund raisers ....raffles and all good deeds are great for the future , but the problem is now ! Everyone is saying they are willing to pay ....."well crap or get of the pot !" is what my grandpa used to tell me put in a nicer way . I know Don is doing the best he can , more panic over anything and he doesn't ask for anything or much at all . But it time for us that say they are willing to commit , then please do so . This our home , just need to pay the rent somewhat . i put this in its own thread because it needs to said and Beer said it perfect , Don is gonna to hate me and he has never ask us for a dime ! sometimes it feels so good to take a crap so everybody that can try it and see how goood it feels !!! i feel a lot better now that i did !!! thom

Just got in from the Houston m&e ride. Had a fantastic time, met some of the greatest folks, had good food, can't beat that. I want to thank everyone who came and helped to make it a success. Without y'all, it wouldn't have happened. Pics will be posted later. Don and Linda H.

just had dinner, with "TXVENTURE", and his bride. i think squid, might remember them. we had a very good meet and eat, "all,two, both of us." don and linda are staying in victoria tonight, then going to refugio, in the a.m. if i didn't know better, i'd say, don, wants to be "just like THE AMBASSADOR". has a decent looking 'mkII, '87. gonna look a little better now though. i made him some "polished stainless" side louver replacements.gonna look really sharp. i think. just jt

Don, was kind enough to spend time on making this so it would read on-line I just emailed him the stuff from Word and he made it work.. Thanks Don. Ok, I've heard of fast service but come on Don........ I'm telling ya, he's got lightning in his blood I swear. I was reading about the two fellas that changed their names and have been doing the same with a lot of my online stuff and caught the name-change bug so I sent Don an email to change mine. As I'm in the forum I happened to lok up & there it is......... POOF! OdinsMaiden becomes CrowsNest. Thanks Don Brandi

I particularly appreciate your skill, tact, wisdom and levelheaded approach in moderating this site. You seem to chime in at the right time with care and consideration to all while encouraging and maintaining respectful freedom of expression and opinion. Your efforts undoubtedly foster the sense of family, respect and kindred spirit by way of example and have not gone unnoticed. Don't know if there's a way around it but since Ebay has redone their security I don't think we are going to be able to tell if we are bidding against one another on an item. Don added that field but then ebay now blanks out the middle of the bidders name. So no hard feelings if you get outbid by someone here. Don did try.

Most of you know Don graciously hosts this site free of charge for all of us to use and enjoy. He pays all the bills from his own pocket and never asks for anything from the members here.
