  1. Taking with a friend of mine yesterday. Sharon's a retired private school teacher for the special kids. At 64 she has no health insurance, perscription or dental. She'll turn 65 in two weeks. Her husband Jerry who is a few years older and on medicare, just had a successful quadruple heart bypass. The Dr. wrote out the scripts for Jerry, Sharon went to Wallmart to fill them. First she ask how much they cost. It was $300 for one and $500 for the other for a one month supply. She said "now I know why people have to make the decision on wether to eat, or, buy their prescriptions..." She said no thanks, I can't afford it. She called the Dr. back up and ask how in the world was she suppose to come up with that much money "every month". The Dr. Said let me work with the folks at Wallmart... After switching the medications she is now paying less than $14 for a 3 month supply. Just though I'd pass this on as it may help one of us or someone you know...
  2. Has anyone had there bag rails rechromed? If so where and how much did it cost?
  3. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I recently had to replace my tires and if not for the quick and efficient service of Southwest Moto Tires (http://www.swmototires.com/) I’d have had to miss a long anticipated ride. I went with the Dunlop 404 WWW and am so far very pleased with the ride and must say that www’s look great with Black Cherry. When I placed the order I had trouble entering the credit card information for my order however I sent them an email, they replied within 45 minutes, my order was processed the same day and I received the tires a few days later. I picked them up and had them installed in the States and was able to make my ride the next day. Over all, I purchased and installed the tires for half the price it would cost me to do it here. In fact the two tires cost me $207 US where Canadian dealers are asking $229. just for the rear tire. The best part is that while the tires were being mounted I had lunch with one of our members and got a great ride out of the deal!
  4. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200326924_200326924 As I needed some accessories for my Dremel for my fork polishing project I came across this at Northern Tool. Since I was already in possession of a NT 50 dollar gift card it only cost me 10 bucks!! The same stuff with the Dremel kit would cost well over 100 bucks! At 59 bucks its quite a steal. If your into any type of hobby stuff this tool is a great addition for the price.
  5. I just purchased a bottle Of Australian Clear PK4 from Australia for Arthritis ,Muscle and Joints Remedy for the Cost Of $65.00 You ever heard of it ???
  6. Just curious for those that have installed an AMPLIFIER on their RSV's...are you happy with it? Was the cost of that upgrade WORTH the enhanced sound quality, or was the sound quality only slightly improved? Did you install in the trunk or under the fairing? Have you had ANY issues with the electrical system since installing this upgrade? I know there are several threads about what kinds, and how to mount, but hopefully this is a "different" thread. Thanks for all your replies. Wally
  7. Ran across this on craigslist for $3750. I am not in the market for one and have no idea on point of cost but looks pretty good. http://www.austrackcampers.com
  8. Does it cost to advertise a bike on this site? I haven't been active in the last year do to health problems.

  11. Last week I called J&M about a headset that was way out of warranty (bought in '07) and that the upper portion of the cable's wire had broken internally. They told me to ship it to them and they would look at it and give me a repair cost. I sent it out Priority mail and in 2 days received an e-mail in the a.m. that they received. Another e-mail later that afternoon that they shipped back a NEW headset !!!! Received it today and I can tell you that their customer service was great. I was looking at a replacement cost of $170-ish. Thanks J&M !! BEER30
  12. I just bought a pack of 25, 10mm copper crush washers from McMaster Carr. Cost was $7.61 + $4.39 shipping, total of $12.00. McMaster P/N is 97725A200 for 25. If you are going to do brake work and remove the lines, these should be replaced. The items I received looked identical to what is used on bike. I counted 23 of these washers on my 1st gen. The price at partshark.com was $1.38 each + shipping. Total for 23 would be $31.74 before shipping cost Part # is WASHER,PLATE - 90201-10118-00 Same part # is used on 1st & 2nd gens. Gary
  13. A local leather shop made this bra for me. His suggestion was to fasten the bottom through the bottom tank bolt rather than use clips. I am very happy with it. Only cost me $50.
  14. MAGNUM Metallic Brake Pads which are made in Europe, The are 50% the cost of EBC
  15. I got to talking with the guy that used to do all my lettering for my race cars. He says that it would be easy for him to do up a vinyl decal that we can put on the scoots pretty easy. Now if only 1 is made it is $10. However the more I can get made the cheaper each one becomes. Now if anyone wants this I am willing to mail them out to everyone once they are made so the only cost will be the decal itself. But I may be out of line even having one made for my bike. I just thought if I could get a dozen or so made that would get him to keep the templates on hand it would be neat. Shaun PS- if this is in the wrong forum feel free to move it and beat me with a wet noodle. Shaun
  16. I got an email from Ebay today indicating that they are going to start charging final selling fees on sold items that include the shipping cost. As a carrot type thing, they are now giving 50 free listings a month, so there may be a lot more junk type items listed. This may eliminate the practice that some sellers have been using to reduce the cost of selling items, which is to inflate the shipping cost. I sell some of my wrenches on there and have had them listed as free shipping for a while. Cost reflected this, but it seemed like an eye catcher to someone looking. On a related note, does anyone know how to do a search for Venture parts on Ebay and not get the snowmobile stuff. The Japs didn't know many English words apparently, so they made a snowmobile the same name. This is the search string I use, which eliminates a bunch of snowmobile & 2nd gen stuff, but not all. yamaha venture -gt -700 -1999 -2000 -2001 -2002 -2003 -2004 -2005 -2006 -2007 -2008 -2009 -rsv -600 -snow -star -enticer -blaster -600cc -480cc -wave -viper -vector -xenon -phazer -mountain -exciter -snow* -srx -venom -vt600 -vt480 -vt700 -sxr -carbide Gary

  18. Hello all, I am a new member and looking for some help. I have a 2005 Royal Star Tour DLX. Love this machine just looking for more POWER. I have been told I can have the engine pumped up to the VMAX power. Can someone please advise me as to what has to be done to do this and a ball park as to what it would cost and a good place to have it done around the Toronto Ontario Canada area or anywhere near. Thanks ever so much in advance.

    Dyna Beads

Put the dyna beads in last week had to break the beads on the tires due to the TPS system not able to use the valve stem. The cost $65 not bad had 3000 miles on the tires hope to get better wear and mileage out of them. I am getting a better ride a lot less wobble at low speeds with no vibrations. I would recommend this on new tire installations to absorb the cost of re braking the beads, if you don't have TPS there easy to put in threw the valve stem. Next tire change i will be going to the darkside with beads.
  20. Advice please, 2009 Royal star venture. The audio control shows no sign of life. checked connections. Will clean and reconnect after reading threads here. Is there any other secret repair. I have also checked the fuse and voltage to the brown/white wire. If it doesn't come to life what are the alternatives. How do you tell if it's the brain box or the controller and display on the handlebar? Is there repair for them? Where? cost? or replacement? where? cost? Thanks for your help.
  21. How do you get books for a E-Reader? I usually visit all the 2nd hand shops for my books don't want to pay what they cost new. I now have a E-Reader. Kind of fancy. Yeah I'm cheap. Free access some where??
  22. Is there any left in the US??? Nothing here in Canada...it sells right out of the shipping crate it seems! If I could get my hands on one for a Christmas gift for the kids it would be great. The ebay ones are way way out of what the stores are selling them. 149 is the usual cost at best buy etc. We are currently stalking EB games here in town but they never seem to get that shipment in when they say they will get it!
  23. Friend at auto body shop, not computer savey brought a car engine code reader for $425 from snap-on guy, asked me to look it over, I found it works with windows xp only, he has win7, told him give it back. All snap-on ones work with xp only. Anyone know off one that would work with win7, for no more cost. Its not something he has to have but he sees alot more warning lights on the dash and he has to send it out to clear it before he returns it. thanks for any help

  25. A couple of weeks ago I posted that the tabs in the fairing where the bolt go that hold the windshield in place were broken. Today Berkeley Yamaha replaced that part of the fairing. While they were in there they found some other stuff that was jacked up and fixed that too. Cost to me $0. I must say, their reputation of going above and beyond is really true. Thanks to everyone that suggested I take it back to the dealer.
