Hi All, Have just purchased passenger floorboard mounts from nawarhorse in ebay store. They sent an email saying that shipping would be $US150--for two puny brackets:crying: I've sent an email requesting they use USPS which is cheaper, but have had no reply. Any advice on how I might get these bl***y brackets to Oz ?? my friend owns a 86 and he loves it, he asked me a question that i couldnt answer,i told him to join the site and i think that he is going to, thats good, so the question that he asked me is,@ a steady speed of 40 to 45 mph his bike seems to hesitate and sputter a bit, and it does it all the time, does anybody have good advice that could help solve this problem, let me thank you in advance for your help. thank you:thumbsup2:

We picked up my trike from Hannigan on the 26th but didn't get home until late saturday. Today was the first chance to get it out and shake it down. I think I am really going to like it. I am about to change the oil in my 87 Venture Royale and am looking on some advice on the best oil to use. Also since the bike has 74k miles on it, is it good to run any oil treatments or something along those lines in it? Any advice would be appreciated.

I 'm a new member as well as a first time owner of an 88 VR. Never been bikeless since 1963 and currently ride a 90 PC. Very excited to get this VR on the road as soon as the snow melts here in Ontario but have one immediate issue. There is no clutch pressure so I checked the reservoir and it was empty - strange since the previous owner drove it to where it was parked, although that was a year ago (he bought a new RSV last year). I added some fresh fluid but couldn't get pressure. Should my first step be to bleed the line and then check to see that there are no visible leaks. Any advice on this problem or bleeding the line and anything else that I should do to check it out and make sure all is good. I hope to ride this bike for many years. [ATTACH]26653[/ATTACH] -
Im considering getting the Dydna 3000 ingition system for the 2nd Gen. I was wondering if anyone on this site has used one, and could pass on a little advice. 1) Do they increase H.P.? 2) Are they easy to setup to increase RPM range of the bike? Thanks, BoKeifUS

I finally got my bolts for my clutch. I bought a new torque wrench. I took it for about a 30 mile ride today and I loved it. Real easy to put the new clutch in. I changed all my fluid in the brake and the clutch. Thanks to everyone for their advice. hairman:thumbsup:

Sometime in June I am planning 7 or 8 days in Eastern Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia. Can anyone give me some advice on "must see's" and your idea's of the best rides. I plan to ride some of the Blue Ride Parkway, but I don't really care to stay on it too much. Is there a section that is a favorite ride. Thank's for your input. Jeff

a 15 day trip this summer!! :banana:Plotting a ride from North Central Iowa to Glacier National Park and up to Banff!! Would love any info that you have on campgrounds as we will be tenting it most of the time. Also any roads, restauraunts that are worth stopping at. Thanks for any advice!!

Thought there used to be a thread section for "All other bikes" but couldn't find it so I just put it in the Watering Hole. My son just put a new straight pipe on his bike. It has no baffles. He wants to know if he needs to have it rejetted. Appreciate any advice.

I have to purchase a software program for our office that has greeting cards, etc. You all know I am not a computer wiz...so I need some advice. What program is easy for someone like me to install/use. My computer is a Vista. We send a lot of corporate birthday cards, Christmas wishes but also personal cards. I would also like to be able to use photographs that we have taken and use them in the cards. Anyone have any advice? I really need an easy program to use.

Trying to send a form from documents on the computer to an email addy, and it tells me that I'm getting an SMTP error. It asks me for a server name, says its an account POP3 error with an error # of 0x800CC0D. Any advice?

I've been having a problem with my '99 Venture wandering or darting side to side when hitting uneven roads or bumps. Yamaha checked the suspension and said it looked ok. I still feel something is going on. Any advice on what could be checked to diagnosis what could be happening? How do you check the front forks for problems besides leaks. Is there a way to check the spring tension from side to side?

I bought an alumna trailer, put on the hitch and wired here in. Now all I need is the nerve to climb on and try pulling it! Are there any hints or advice from the crowd before Itake off? Thanks, Kenw

Hey I have recently decided to modify and old trailer I had around the house to pull behind my RSTD. Almost got the frame ready to sand blast and paint. Got a few guestions. 1. What is the recommended tounge weight for these bikes and what is the max that should be pulled. 2. What is the best way to wire the bike for the trailer lights, as I will be doing the wiring myself. 3. I have heard rumors that towing a trailer will void my warranty, is this true? 4. Any advice other advice you can give! Thanks in advance for the help!

Mrs. Vicco here. Saturday we went for our first ride together. To put it mildly, it didn't go well. No, we didn't go down or anything like that. The problem was, I was a nervous wreck. To begin, I'm claustrophobic so putting on the helmet started a panic attack. I couldn't see, hear, or breathe. Opening the visor helped on the breathing, but the reduced vision stayed a problem. Vic said he thought we worked very well together when it came to stopping, cornering, etc., but I was in a state of terror almost the whole time we were out. So...any advice out there to help a newbie relax? And don't say, "Just relax," that doesn't help. I know I'm supposed to relax. What I'm looking for is advice and explanations that will help me relax. Cornering/leaning was especially frightening. Right hand turns were worse than left for some reason. The odd thing is, we rode together many years ago and we went through corners, leaned, stopped, all that. But I don't remember any of it. BTW, we're going shopping for a different helmet before we go out again.

Ok so Sunday the nice state trooper in Wisconsin decided he would give me a ticket (not to the policeman’s ball either. 68MPH in a 55MPH zone, which is a $160.00 invitation to court or just pay it and suffer the consequences with the insurance company. Before you ask I have no idea how fast I was going all I know is that I was going up a hill in the passing lane and the trooper was at the top of the hill with his laser radar on. The rest of the story is history as they say Please resist the funny comments I told them all to myself. I don’t know if I should fight it or just pony up the $160.00 and call it a day. My gut tells me to at least go to court and try to fight it. Anybody know any thing about laser radar? Accuracy? Problems with their use? Interference? Any LEOs out there that have any words of advice? Other than cough it up and get over it? If I don’t show up they find me guilty if the trooper doesn’t show, what happens then. Will they dismiss it? Not to happy with myself…. I haven’t had a ticket in over 40 years. Advice Please

Is it OK to use a synthetic grease on the drive shaft splines, I have a tube of Amsoil 2000 series racing grease which has a lithium complex, it says its good for high and low speed bearings, wheel bearings and any high performance/output equipment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm going to remove the rear wheel to replace the tire and may as well lube the the shaft at the same time. Thanks Ian

I will be flying to Squidly's on Aug 6 to pick up his 86 Venture I just purchased. Will be rideing it back to Louisiana. I am 54 and have never flown on a commercial airline so I have questions. First has anyone here done this and how did you carry your helmet???? I was trying to avoid checking in baggage and thought I would just bring a carryon bag and stuff the helmet, clothes and needed items in, then the bag would fit in the trunk for the retun trip. Problem is I can't determine on their web site if a helmet is allowed on carryon. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated and advice on what to make sure and bring. Also any advice on checking in etc., will be changeing flights in Atlanta Ga. Thanks

I'm trying to get a non running 84VR from PA to GA. What I really would like to do is ride my 87 VR :7_6_3[1]:up there via Blue Ridge Pkwy/Skyline Drive towing a trailer that I can load 84 VR on and tow back via interstate. Is it possible to come up with some trailer configuration considering weight/load distribution to safely tow one VR with another one? Does anyone have any experience doing this, is it possible. Does anyone have any advice?

OK, heres the deal. I got all the paintable covers off and need to make them one color. I hope to get some advice when painting them with a spray can. I sanded them and am repairing the broken parts. What is the best techniqe to use? I plan on priming them and sanding the primer with 1200 sand paper before shooting them with the can. after a couple of coats of base, I plan on 2 coats of clear. Is this a good plan? I would love to take them to someone to have it done, but its just not in my budget. Thanks for any advice.... Ron

Need advice on changing the tires on my '08 Venture. I've seen on the website that the Avon tires seem to be the best. I would like some advice on what size and series would be best. Is it true that putting a smaller tire on the front helps with handling?
