Not sure any of you heard. But J&M will be offering a bluetooth dongle to work with their Bluetooth headsets. This will allow for full comm, plus CB, GPS, music etc. But as usual it's expensive - the base bluetooth dongle is 349.00, plus you need the interface harness listed below. They are also producing one for their J&M CB 2003 as well as GL1800, GL1500 and Harley. $600.00 total - but you can cut the cable. From their 2011 Catalog: JBLU-BHDG05 This is a J&M custom BluHub™ dongle05 module featuring our exclusive JMAHP (J&M Motorcycle Audio Headset Profile) Bluetooth®software profile, transmitting true stereo to 1 or 2 J&M Bluetooth headsets, with simultaneous microphone signals transmitted back down to the dongle. When 2 J&M Bluetooth headsets are linked to the dongle05, the continuous helmet-tohelmet intercom feature is activated thru the dongle. Rider and passenger can also each simultaneously link their J&M Bluetooth helmet headsets to their own cell phone or Garmin Zumo, while linked to the dongle05. This dongle05 is used to create a full featured motorcycle audio system, with stereo music, CB/FRS, Navigation commands, cell phone etc available depending upon the capabilities of the external equipment being connected. The J&M Dongle05 is powered by the electrical system on the motorcycle (no batteries in the dongle to charge). This new dongle can be connected to most motorcycle audio system configurations by using one of the special connection harnesses offered as an extra cost accessory to this custom dongle. (see options below) $329.99 JBLU-BHDG05-CA03 for connection to the Yamaha Venture Royale. $249.99 Stu

I am wanting to test the factory intercom on my 1st gen Venture. The bike has the plugs in the amplifier for the headsets. I did not want to invest in new headsets until I know it works. I have searched through the forum and can't find any answers. I found the pinout diagram for the plugs and made two headsets from some computer headsets I had laying around. I can get the speakers in them to work but can't get the mic to work. I don't know why. Is the stock system capeable of using the mics or am I wasting my time? Or are the mics from the computer headsets not compatable with the Yamaha intercom? Any input is welcome.

We have J&M headsets in our helmets and the speakers hurt our ears on long rides. We would like to try earbuds. It doesn't look like I can remove the speakers without cutting wires. I don't want to cannibalize our headsets in case we want to go back to them someday. Is there a place to get a microphone only with a 5 pin plug? Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Ross

Good chance for someone to pick up 2 pair at one time. You can clik on the link below or go to Classifieds and St. Jude Auctions. Thanks to everyone for your continued support of St. Jude. Dont forget, Aug. 2, 2010 we will be meeting in Memphis to present monies and tour the hospital. St. Jude Auctions - VentureRider Classifieds

Model number HS-8154B-OF I asked them if my membership here qualified me for any discount. They responded back "no" but are giving me 10% off "just for asking". So, when you order something, ask for a discount... you may just get one!

I'm having a dickens of a time getting audio thru my headsets. When I play XM radio thru the speakers they will draw police attention because it can be loud. As soon as I switch to the headsets the volume drops to less than half. When using the headsets with the CB on and the XM on, I have to have the XM volume so loud it almost causes ringing in my ears just so that I get a faint CB reception. I know there is an answer - I just can't seem to find it. HELP !! btw - I have a Garmin 450

I know that the intercom is always hot, which means lots of road noise. Have just gotten some headsets and am really surprised how loud the wind/road noise is. Did some searches and see several possible remedies: A solution often proposed is the "mic mute" or similar product that mutes the mic until rider or passenger activates the microphones. Well and good, and seems to be well reviewed. But it seems to me that when the mic is on the issue of road and wind noise is still there. Another option would be helmet headsets that have noise canceling microphones. How well do these work and in fact, do they work to keep the background noise down? Or is that only when someone is actually talking? Finally, what about voice activated headsets? How well do they work? If the sensitivity is set to prevent the road noise do the people speaking have to shout in order to trigger the VOX? Lots of questions I know, but wonder what people think or have actually tried. Thanks in advance.

For those of you with a modular helmet AND headsets...any problems with radio or intercom because of wind noise? I've always worn a full face & just bought a set of HJC Symax II modular helmets. I knew modulars had more wind noise than a fullface, but after a test ride tonight in 20mph breeze, there's quite a bit more noise...so much in fact that I'm wondering if installing new J&M headsets is going to give decent results or be a waste of time. I'm guessing others out there are using a similar setup successfully but just wanted to verify while I can still return the helmets for refund if I choose.

Just got an 06 RSV Midnite and couldn't be happier! My son and I are going to be doing some trips this spring and summer. Ready to buy some headsets. I know the Yamaha headsets are made by J&M and I can get a 15% discount on those. How do they compare to the Edsets? I've read a lot of post and not sure which to purchase. Any advice would be appreciated as far as sound quality and wind noise, Reliability etc. What a great site, I look foward to joining. Thanks Scott

2000 RSV - I was told the intercom system has never been used on the bike. I'm looking at getting a pair of headsets for wife and I. Not sure what to look for. Are they available kinda like headphones so I don't have to mount into a helmet. Is the plug-in connector a standard connector? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It seems as if my radio comes and goes when listening threw the headsets also when it is working the volume has to be turned up more than without headsets. I think there is two settings for IC volume and Radio volume. I also noticed the CB was recieving or doing something because the RX would light up by the headset symbol. Any ideas as to what is going on or is there a certain way to set things up??? Thanks

I finally bit the bullet and ordered two sets of J&M Headsets. They came yesterday and I got them installed today. Also finished replacing the cassette deck with an mp3 player and wiring it up so that I can turn it on and off with the factory radio or bypass it all together. Now warm weather please get here soon before I think of another project.

OK, I need to find a REALLY good deal on a set headsets for two helmets. The wife thinks it would be a good idea to talk while we're riding. Does anybody know where I can get them cheap? A buddy said he saw some in an ad in Wing World for $69 for two. Of course, he didn't keep the magazine. Help. Mick

I want to tie the audio output from a navigation system to the audio system of the motorcycle. It needs to mute the radio when it talks. Since we always use headsets the audio through the headsets is the ideal solution. Essentially, I want it to act like a 3rd mic on the intercom. That way it mutes the radio and we hear it through the headsets. I'm wondering if I can't piggy back it onto one of the headset mics using a circuit similar to the one in the drawing. Sure would appreciate input from the electronics wizards.

How can I tell if the cb works? I can hear them.

My local Yamaha Dealer is desperate to get sales, he has a set of the 2nd gen Helmet headsets for $50.00. Will the 2nd Gen headsets work on the 1st gen? If so I'm gonna snap these 2 up as it seems that most online are 4X this price.
