  1. I was thinking of this same topic yesterday. Cruising 75mph solo, I get about 38 mpg. At 60 or 62 mph solo I get about 45 mpg. Aside from my 210 lbs butt, I might have an additional 10 or 15 lbs in the storage.
  2. Now that is funny! Dealing with UPS all day, everyday at work, I can relate.
  3. I have not ridden in this area, but check out this link. Great pics, maps, and story to go with it, in south central Indiana. http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1283
  4. Thanks for the replies. The one on Ebay is the same as Signal Dynamics, but they want $23 shipping. I have a 15" under the trunk of my RSV, I am looking for this for my wife's VStar.
  5. I thought I saw it on this site some where, but cannot find it. I am trying to find an LED light to replace the 6" x 1" red reflector located above the factory taillight. I have seen a few at JP and Kuryk. but can't seem to find the one I ran across the other day. Anyone? Thanks
  6. Tried laying them sideways. Did not work. My Fulmer helmet barely fits in there. My extra HJC fits, no problem. Wifes Scorpion does not fit at all. If we are in eating, I try to sit were I can see the bike. Then I don't mind if the helmets are in the trunk or hooks. But times when the bike is out of site... When the weather warms up enough, we wear 1/2 helmets anyhow. They fit in truck or saddle bags.
  7. Who is up for a trip to Venezuela to fill up the tank? :rotf:
  8. Now why didn't I think of that! Thanks Brian
  9. We got caught in the rain last week and when we stopped did not want to hang the helmets and have them get wet and did not want to carry them inside with us to eat.
  10. I love the look of the luggage rack on my bike. Problem now, the had such close clearance before that now I cannot close the lid with my fullface helmet becuase the bold heads will rub. Aside from trying to find carriage type bolts to fit, any ideas? Even before the rack, my wifes Scorpion full-face would not fit anyhow unless I took the mat out of the bottom.
  11. I put the Grip Puppies on my RSV. I have only rode it twice with them, but they seem good so far. I just got a set of the Kuy.ISOs my wife wanted for her Vstar. Have not got them on yet.
  12. Should be an 8mm.
  13. Mine came new with Dunlops, also, in March 2007.

    stock seat?

Not sure how the seat is on the RSTD, but on my VStar650, I could only go 75 to 100 miles before having to stop on the stock seat. Wife was the same way. Put a Mustang seat on. It made all the difference int he world. Just my 2bits.
  15. My daughter calls me saying that some one is following her, I'm 3-waying with the sheriff and/or telling her not to stop and got to the cop shop. I agree that there are not enough facts in the story. The kid on the bike very well may have swerved at the father. However, if the girls were in the driveway and Dad was not out with his gun (which he should be allowed to do on his personal property) the biker may have cussed and been on his way. I can't imagine anyone on a bike 'following' a cage. If he really were that much of a nut, all the car driver would have to do is stop quickly
  16. Don, sent you the paypal for mine.
  17. One please.
  18. For cold: heavy sweatshirt under my leather jacket with liner and neck wrap. Keeps we warm and protected at 40 degrees.
  19. Had a 17 year old girl make a left in front of me last fall (in the cage). Three witness told cops it was her fault. She did not even get a failure to yeild ticket. Totaled both vehicles.
  20. They did an episode of MythBusters about this stuff. It failed on their show.
  21. That is the same thing I was just thinking.
  22. A lot depends on the service department and your relationship with them. Before I got my RSV, I was talking with service manager, when I had my VStar in. I mentioned getting a RSV and putting a hitch on it. His comment was that the hitch would "void" the warranty; however, the hitched can be removed before bringing the bike in. Then he added that if I want to pull a trailer, I should put on the K&N intake and change the exhaust. Basically, he had not problem with with me putting on a hitch and getting warranty work done. Depends on the dealer. He also mentioned that manufaturers (not just Yam) send reps to national rallies that will document VINs of bikes pulling trailers and log them to later deny andy warranty claims.
  23. Here is there phone number. Just give them a call. They are very friendly. 817-925-4901
  24. Had the seat off a month ago and noticed this plug and had nto thought about it again until today when I had the seat off to check battery. There is a white plug just above the battery on the left hand side. It has power when the key is on. Is this the power plug for the CD changer? Bronson
  25. Goes up only $3.00? They told me $30.00. Maybe they kickback for issueing more. Oh well. Had to be done anyhow.
