Balance issues maybe? is fairly easy to check just stick axle through tire and set on car jack stands and spin buy hand to check for heavy spot I think ther maybe tread here somwhere with more detailed howto. -
never heard of boiling carbs but guess it would clean em. Sad to say yup diaphrams are expensive the cheapest Ive found them for 83 was 56 they just went up to 66 apiece ouch, might try liquid tape if just pin holes.

About to paint my bike.
cliffno350 replied to NLAlston's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I noticed one thing I would like to add, your local auto paint stores should be able to put auto quality paint in an arosol can for you it is more expensive but is a better paint IMHO and you can also get some clearcoat, and no one really mentioned wetsanding? I have found I get much better results with a time consuming good wetsand. -
Thats my dads trike he/we built a few years ago, VW powered. he enjoys it alot, tinkering with it as much as riding it. and no didnt we get to buy the 57 anyone notice the white bumper tips?

cliffno350 replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
my 88 was kinda squirrelly till I put new steering head bearings and set them to a 2 pound pull now is stable as any bike, I have cheng shins front and rear the hi max ones forget the numbers, except the rear is narrower than stock a 130/90 instead of 140/90. I still have rubber engine mounts and two up or 1 up is solid, and no wobble at any speed hands or no hands. oh don't know if it matters probably not but I got steering bearings from motion industries not Yamaha. -
soory dont know torque but that is a sweet bike he got...
-
Glad you got her home Larry look forward to seeing your new bike, and thanks friend. We will get some pictures this weekend for sure. :dancefool::dancefool:

it should use some oil most 2 strokes require a 32 parts gas to 1 part oil mix, I would make sure its a 2 stroke and then check lines from oil tank to the oil/injection pump, may have to prime pump by forceing oil into itthey can cavitate and suck air make sure oil lines are tight to pump so it cant suck air. I am not familar with a darby but have worked on quite a few different 2 stroke scooter/mopeds. let us know what ya find.

Was 8500 too much? i didnt think so, but not my bike..
