  1. My wife loves her Diamond R armrests and adjustable foot pegs, beverage holder keeps the complaints to a minimum (other than my speed). Armrests along with my Utopia backrest makes her feel very secure ~~ She actually reads books or naps while cruising the interstates! Went with a Russell Day Long custom seat. We're in the saddle 11 hour days without and discomfort or complaints. No more butt breaks ~We only stop for gas, chow and restroom.
  2. I run using these hot white LED running lamps switched on at all times,... only draws .1 volts when feeling uncomfortably vulnerable I activate the headlight modulator too. The combination will wake the comatose! :yikes: http://www.motorcycleimpacts.com/images/led-running-light-pods.jpg
  3. Just spray some WD40 around the rubber & bushing while working the clutch lever. Will clean and lube the area eliminate the pop and squeak. I do this every spring keeps thing nice, smooth and quiet.
  4. Dang, did that once many years ago. Since then I usually keep my wallet in a zippered inside jacket pocket or tucked in the tour pac. Makes the ride much more comfortable! For touring I drilled a hole through the corner of my credit card large enough for a small key ring or clip to pass and wear it on a lanyard around my neck. Makes gassing much easier without risking loosing my wallet or any of its contents. I can feel the card against my chest before pulling away. Just a suggestion .... it works for me
  5. A few years ago I had similar problem with my Rivco stand. Found the stops had bent back a slight bit placing the stand at a more severe angle when engaged (rear tire just grazing the floor when up on stand) that made it about impossible to get bike down. Contacted Rivco , sent stand back and they replaced the stand at no cost to me. I no longer sit on the bike to rock it off the stand and thing have been perfect since. To get it down I reverse the up process while standing at bikes side.
  6. I replaced my stock with a Day Long many years ago.(went with the cloth covering) At 6'03" 260lbs I ride in total comfort all day without any soreness in my upper legs when dismounting. Wife loves her passenger pillion too. Best money spent in my mind ... and butt.
  7. When my Yuasa battery gave up I researched and found good reviews of the Deka glass mat battery. I ordered the Deka model ETX20L Powersport battery (310 cca) from Tri-State Battery in Newark, Delaware. Internet pricing was a reasonable $77.95 delivered. Placed internet order on Tuesday morning and TSB had battery delivered via UPS on my door step in N.J. at 10 a.m. the very next day. Battery fit my 99 RSV perfectly and was ready to go right out of the box showed 12.7 volts. I was put back on the road quickly.... Will definitely use this company again http://www.venturers.org/Forum/images/smilies/jumping-smiley-013.gif Link is http://www.tristatebattery.com/product_ ... cts_id=981
  8. I'm running 25 psi in my 5.30 x 12" trailer tires.
  9. I've got the XL trailer and absolutely love it Makes going on trips a breeze - no more worrying what to pack - she can take it all with her. Don't feel it while cruising. Be sure to give yourself more room / time for braking, that's when you feel it pushing. I've been running tires at 25 psi with good results.
  10. Even naked a Venture looks really gooood! :big-grin-emoticon: :big-grin-emoticon:
  11. Love the back design - suggest Ventureriders.org 'nuff said on the front
  12. And no riots, looting?? Where's the demands for federal funding? OOPS..... forgot - this ocurred way up north
  13. Used my Transition jacket last season. Very impressed with its warmth, lots of features and pockets. Waterproof to point where I don't even consider stopping to put rain suit on. Wife was so impressed with mine that she wanted one.... needless to say, she now has one. We're thrilled with this jacket Got mine online from Leatherup.com fast shipping too. www.leatherup.com/s/tourmaster transition 2
  14. During my trip to the Dragon a few years ago I stayed at a Microtel Hotel in Robbinsville. Nice, clean motorcycle friendly hotel - have dedicated cycle spaces by the front door. Note - Hotel is in a dry county. Must bring in your own adult beverages from outside the county.
  15. I had the same problem with my aux. set up. Rather than using the Mix It device, I installed this AmpliRider. Works great, Aux volume now equalized and can be adjusted independent of the bikes audio volume controls. Super easy installation and less $$$ than the mix It. Got it from these folks: www.electric-avenues.com/amplirider.html I disassembled the remote volume knob from the box and mounted it through the dashboard just to the left of the left speaker for a "factory" look.
