Many on this site have know Paul much longer than I have. Since I met Paul a few years ago, he's been a great friend and a fantastic ridding buddy. Last Thursday or Friday he set out for a multi day trip with his wife Cynthia and they had a rear tire go flat. Details are still not all in. Both had to be air lifted from the Vernal, Ut area to the hospital in Grand Junction, CO. I understand that they are there still for a few days. Both suffered broken bones and at least one had a punctured lung. Any prayers, thoughts and best wishes would be greatly appreciated. All this after Paul had a solo accident (no real physical injuries) in Feb when he went down on his '08 RSTD and now he's down on his replacement Venture. Dave

Minor Brake Rub on Rear
utadventure replied to utadventure's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for the responses. They are very much along the line of what I was thinking, but it's always best to check with those smarter than me (which includes all of you). Earl, that's for your wealth of information in your post. Dave -
I'm pretty good about riding with a helmet, mostly because I like tunes as I ride. Tonight I'm away from home assisting tomorrow in the MS150 ride for Multiple Sclerosis, I went to top off the tank and could hear some minor rubbing on the rear brake rotor (only in one spot, not all the tme) Do you think opening the reservoir or the brake line bleeder valve solve the issue? Welcome also to the site. Greatest place for information. I think I have a replacement, not in perfect shape but better than what you seem to have there. I'm gone until Monday, pm me then if something else hasn't come along to your satisfaction. Dave

Sorry to see you having to make such a choice. This place just won't be the same. Stop by the library every now and then and let us know how you're doing!! Hope to see you back online again soon. Dave

Here are some of the pics Sam and I took on our trip to the Billings Wing Ding in 2007: http://s470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Wing%20Ding%20Billings%202007/ Beartooth Pass, Yellowstone, Red Lodge-MT Some personal pics too. Enjoy! Dave

I've been watching this too. I understand it's open over to Red Lodge, MT. I have a brother-in-law going to Billings in the next week and I'm trying to get him to go that way and report back. I'll let you know if he does! Dave

Forward Controls Who has them Pros and Cons
utadventure replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
My wife has forward controls on her '08 Harley Sportster 1200C and loves them most of the time but also fought not being able to shift position while riding. I added a third set of pegs in the mid position so she can stand up a little, shift her legs etc. Adds an interesting look to the bike but is very functional. In order to clear the brakes, I had to shim the right side mounting bracket 3/4" and use longer bolts. -
Those are great. I'll have to post them (especially #4) for my employees. LMAO (blind with laughter) Dave

Help find a cure for MS
utadventure replied to utadventure's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
That's great that she is walking again. There are so many great things that are happening to help those with MS. Dave -
Our youngest, Andy was diagnosed with MS just before his 19th birthday. We are so blessed that his is not very aggressive at this young age. Both Andy and Jan are riding in the Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride 2011 to raise awareness and research funds to find a cure. While keeping in mind the current economic times, anyone that feels they are able to make a small donation, I have included the link below. You can donate on behalf of Jan or Andy Harris. https://secure3.convio.net/nmss/site/Donation2?idb=604336954&df_id=31240&FR_ID=15231&PROXY_ID=9324307&31240.donation=form1&PROXY_TYPE=20&JServSessionIdr004=0yr044n173.app330b Thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers or donations. This weekend (Friday - Saturday), Jan and I took Quickstep's bike for a shake down ride to the Rat Fink Reunion in Manti. We traveled 325 miles over the two days and got to see some of the artists do some great work. I've gotten the bike repainted and the plastic reinstalled for the trip. The bike averaged about 45 miles per gallon. I did have one issue with the clutch master cylinder losing the nickel that was covering the missing site glass we'll fix this week. While we were looking around the museum, some paint from Frank Fallond got on the bike....check it out. I think we'll leave it on, kind of adds character: http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Alans%2084%20Rebuild/IMG_1176.jpghttp://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Alans%2084%20Rebuild/IMG_1177.jpghttp://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Alans%2084%20Rebuild/IMG_1181.jpghttp://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/Alans%2084%20Rebuild/IMG_1185.jpg We're almost ready for you!! Thank you for this rule ( Sorry Condor). I just don't want to have the image of Russell stuck in my head. At sometime in the future I may be struck with Alzheimers and this would be the one thing I'd remember. Oh, the pain and torture...LOL Dave

Jan and Carol are planning on participating. They will have all the equipment they will need! Dave

Need tires again! No Dunlop T.E. III rear though?
utadventure replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
Jake Wilson or Rocky Mtn ATV (same thing) is here local in Payson. Order today, usually arrives within a day of shipping. Real good service. Dave -
Great looking trike Annie. Glad she's on the way. Don't worry about the riding. The beauty about your trip is you can go at your own pace. You only have to be in a couple of places on certain dates. The rest of the time you can go, and when you get tired, pull out the VR.org list and find a temporary home with one of the great members here. I think we're almost as excited for your trip as you are. Dave

I'll keep his secrets, if he'll keep mine!

Great passengers, a little on the quiet side, but cute as can be. Dave
