  3. Yamaha Canada sent out a "tweet" on the 12th Sept, stating that the New 2012 Yamaha's will be on there web site at "noon EST" 13th Sept. Not too many on there when I checked, motorcycles that is. 2012's are up. No change for the Venture, well different colour. Keith.
  4. I replaced the fuel pump, 4,000km later and no more issues. Thanks for your help. Keith.
  5. Unfortunately mine is out of warranty, I ordered the fuel pump today should see it tomorrow, hope it fixes it as I ride down to PA on Thursday AM.
  6. Hi guy's. I had the same thing happen to my 06 about a month ago. I replaced the fuel filter and thought that the issue had been resolved as I have put around 600km on since replacing it. Well I was heading out on it today when she quit again. It takes a while to get her going again I seem to have to wait till it cools down before it will start, I first thought that it was an overheating issue. The pump did come to mind as it did not click at first, then around 7 clicks, then it clicked as it would at the beginning of the season when the gas has been drained. So now I am leaning towards the pump again. So "stvmair" did you replace the pump? And if so did it fix the issue? Cheers, Keith.

  8. If you are going to ride the "Land of the Lakes" you have to ride "The Trace",(Hwy 453). Take it from the North starting at US 62, this is a long smooth and curvy stretch of road. There are lots of side roads coming of "The Trace". The one that we took is "Fort Henry Road" which is 7KM North of the finish of the Trace, which ends at "Donalson Pkwy",Hwy 79. Take Fort Henry Road West until it changes to Blue Springs road, continue West until it turns back into Fort Henry Road, continue on this South until it comes to an end at "Donalson Pkwy"' (Hwy 79). Take a left (east) and head another 9KM to Cindy's Catfish Kitchen on the North side of 79, for there lunch buffet. Have a great trip. Keith.
  9. 68% 177 miles 443 seconds, oh yea and I went for a coffee whilst doing it. Keith.

  15. My wife and I took one out for a ride last year at Americade. We were out for about 30 - 40 minutes, were we did mainly freeway riding, I was at the back of the pack so I had lots of opportunity to "sling shot" and let me tell you this bike has a lot more power that the Gen 2 up at the top end. I would like to have taken it through the twisties to see how it handled, but I must say the bike handled really well on the few corners that we were taken through. My only complaint was the mirrors, might as well take them off and use the space for storage, cannot see a damn thing out of them as your fist blocks the view rearward, me no like this. My wife has short legs so she had a hard time to reach the floor boards, mainly because of the side bag's apex being so high. The look's are not that bad, I can live with the looks, the price I cannot. Keith.

  22. Mine also snapped off on my 06. It also was replaced under warranty. Although I did not get it before a 10 day trip down to South Carolina. What I did find impressive, on the way back I stopped of at Anderson Brothers Yamaha, Elizabeth City, North Carolina and the fine folks there offered me a used one free of charge, gave me and my wife a t-shirt each and a cold soda to cool us down on a very hot day. So if your anywhere near there on one of your road trips or live close by I strongly recommend that you pop in and say hi. Keith.

  24. September 1, 2008. "Dear Yamaha Dealer: Yamaha Motor, works hard to remain your #1 source of parts and accessories. We strive to provide high quality parts and accessories at competitive prices. Due to a significant rise in supplier cost, a price increase will be implemented starting October 1st 2008. This pricing change will only effect parts for units no longer in production, some selected older parts will have a greater increase than others. In early September, two price master files will be distributed to your Dealer Management Systems and posted on YDS for your convenience. One file will have the parts prices for the month of September. The other file will have the October prices. By comparing the two files you’ll be able to see which part numbers have been impacted. It may be beneficial for you to stock up on these parts in September before the price increase is implemented. Thank you for your continued support of Yamaha Genuine Parts and Accessories". Trevor Kemp National Parts & Accessory Sales Manager Parts & Accessories Division. My Brother in Law forwarded this onto me after he recieved it from Yamahasportsplaza.com. Keith.
