Great news:thumbsup2: Prayers still coming Ponch and Kathys way. -
Got the trike back from Lanes Yamaha Saturday with a new clutch. So it looks like we'll be on 3 wheels this year instead of 4.

Prayers are on the way -
use a car style floor jack under one of the driver floor board mounts where it bolts to the frame. Remember it's on three wheels it can't fall over.

Now you did it,Robin's crying. She says if everyone else is getting new cars she should get one. this is me crying.

2001 RSV Chripping sound
steamer replied to Richie R's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There is a lot of threads here about that wounderful music our ventures sing to us. Some folks have found the problem to be in the final drive. But most of us know for a fact that it is in the clutch. Keep reading you will find many posts about this subject. -
which trike kit are you looking at? if its a Voyager kit,it adds about 200 lbs.If its a conversion kit it will depend on what trike company you go with. My Motortrike adds maybe 300lbs.

Potential buyer questions
steamer replied to jgcable's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
install the Barons lowering kit. I have 29" inseam and have no problem with the lowering kit installed. You may notice a difference in the way the bike handles, but you get use to it. -
OMG!!! Thank god its back. Robin was about to call the paramedics. Thought i was going to have the big one. That was a close call.....Please don't let that happen again.

I was over on triketalk.com and was reading a thread about how hot the HD Triglide is and how much modifications and $$ they have to put into there stock trikes to just make them bareable to ride. Wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a liquid cooled trike? Don't get me wrong, I like HD, but not if it's going to cook my butt and other things.

Possible New Venture Owner
steamer replied to rcbimmer's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The up grade to the trunk should be rectangle steel plates with a hole in each one. Don't know what the hole is for. If you have round washers only, the upgrade was not done. The parts can be gotten at a yamaha dealer for about $10.00. Also check your antenna's the CB antenna should be on the left side of bike, sitting on it.Looks like yours is on the right side.Make sure thier not hooked up wrong. Trace the cord to the CB under the trunk. the Cb cord is only about 12" long. The CB antenna has a black peload in the middle of the antenna. -

Looks like the antenna's are reversed. Also they look like the orginal 99 antenna's, be carful the can come lose and fall off. Did you check the trunk mounts to see if the up grade as been done? Just some things to make life better. -

Need a poll for second gen rear shock
steamer replied to CaptainJoe's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Might be a trend going on here. So far, the majority of multipal shock changes are from area's that have large temp. changes. maybe something to track. Or maybe I'm just full of hot air. -
General Questions
steamer replied to Mountaineer47's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
As for Pinwall,I have had some good deals and some so so deals. watch they're pricing, I picked up a full set of very nice black engine fins for $39.95, but have seen single covers sell for as much as $70.00 each. Some of they're stuff is price right, some not so much. The pictures don't alway tell the whole story. They don't take enough close up pic's so you don't always see all the damage. With that said, I have saved well over $1000.00 in parts. All in all, they're ok. -

07 RSV Rear Shock Not Covered??? WTF ??
steamer replied to StarRider07's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Tell them to log on VR and read about all the great high quality yamaha shocks that have had to be changed out by most of the folks here. I would Venture (pun intended) to say it is probably around 50%. Thats alot of shocks. We are constantly hearing about someone having to change out thier rear shock with very low miles on them. Some have had to change them out 2 or 3 times, under warranty.Alot of use have had to pay big $$ to do a change out. You know Yama-moma Knows whats going on. You can bet your butt they know they have a piece of crap shock. If they didn't think they had a problem they wouldn't have added that useless vent hose to the new shocks. They put a 5 year warranty on the bike, they need to honor it.
