1. looks like you have to add the Canadian provinces to your map of "conquests"
2. Hey Muffin Man..... you know why some women marry a military man ? you know how to cook you know how to make the bed AND YOU KNOW HOW TO TAKE ORDERS! :rotf:
3. Can anybody tell me how to filter listings so I don't even see the listings with a reserve on them? I see the filter for auctions....but nothing to select no reserve only.
4. Glad you enjoyed it! (at least most of it) I know I enjoyed reading about it and the pics. Mary must have been a little green around the gills....I know I am.....just a little green with envy! Thanks for taking us along with you on the trip! I hope others on an adventure such as yours do the same so we can all enjoy the experiences along with them.
5. Here's your biggest order yet! I would like a bunch of the rubber grommets that the various body panels' clips and pegs fit into or around.
6. Perhaps you could just post one of your great "how to's "????
7. There was someone making up heavier battery cables (lonestarmedic) but he's "expired". is there a " how to" anywhere on how to make the new cable set? Is there anyone else making and selling them? If you see this...how much including shipping to Canada?
8. If they are out there...and still circulating, I would certainly love to see one! Please put me on the list.
9. How sad is that? But that brings up 2 thoughts...IMHO If they have too much inventory, perhaps it is because the customers are telling them they don't want 1980's technology on a 2010 bike (carbs and cassettes) at 2010 prices All businesses are in business to make money...to take care of the bottom line. But there is a basic truth of business. "NOTHING HAPPENS UNTIL SOMEBODY SELLS SOMETHING". If they don't take into account what the customer wants, they won't sell very much...and won't continue to be in business very long.
10. Dibbs on the last one!
11. I never had a problem with going over the monthly limit. A few times when I downloaded video etc and went over my "fair share" hourly limit, then they slow you down to dial up speed for 24 hours. But....I was paying $118 or so a month.
12. We only tagged along for about 40 min....straight down Hwy 38 between Sharbot Lake and Kingston. They stopped in Sharbot Lake for some PR and cheque collections then headed out very soon after. I'm sure many of them are having the trip of a lifetime!
13. 1983 VR, 86,000 km Here's whats happening: A few rides ago, I noticed my temp guage dropping to bottom every few minutes...like a loose wire or something. Today, I noticed my voltmeter reading 9-10, previoulsy it was always at about 13 After a fairly long ride, there wasn't enough power to start...like battery was dead. On the way home it was missing occasionally...like starved for fuel or spark. At one point, I was sitting at a light and put on my turn signal, and the tach was pulsing with the flasher! It was bouncing from 1100 to 3000 when at at idle (tach reading only...not revs) So does this sound like TCI is on its way out...or could low battery from poor stator output do all that?:mo money:
14. Well, I didn't meet my goal for fund raising...but we joined up with the ride near my home when they made a stop in Sharbot Lake, and rode with them into Kingston. There were probably 200 bikes! Some of these folks are riding from coast to coast. ....we were about 3/4 of the way back
15. I don't know...the baby's hand on the girl's thigh looks like it belongs. And the shadow under the baby's Right arm(left side of bucket) looks real to me! But then again...the more I look at it....the girl's arm holding the bucket doesn't look like the hand would be in the right position does it...unless maybe she has an "overhand" grip on it. You might be right.....I am a gullible sort...
16. Every decent sports car has bucket seats...now bikes do too!
17. so...once you pack in in like this, you roll it between your fingers , lick the edge, roll a little more and it MELLOW TIME!
18. O.M.G.!!!!!!!! Its like it just never ends! Watching that sure got the pulse rate up!
19. I used Hughes.net....or Gallaxy Broadband as it's known here. It cost me $118 per month and if I tried to download movies...or watched more than a few minutes of video streaming, then I was over my usage limit and they would slow me down to dial up speed for 24 hours. No warning...nothing...but if you went to the diagostic's page it would show that I exceeded my "fair share" limit. (or something like that) I moved and I'm now on DSL , thankfully!
20. Today and tomorrow is the National Capital Stage of the Ride for Dad. http://www.ridefordadanniversary.org/en/RideOverview.asp I was hoping to take part in both days but it looks like tomorrow will be the only day I can. If you can spare even $5 it would be appreciated and would help me meet my goal. you can donate via credit card. http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=923981 If I meet can my goal and do ride with them, I'll take pictures and post them. If not, they will be riding right past my home so I'll take pictures as they go by.
21. WOW!!!! What kind of police state do you think they live in??? Is it conceivable that the US authorities may consider an honest person, who finds and returns someone's wallet, as a threat to national security? SO WHAT if some of the cash is missing! When GARY N goes in and expains how he found it, the risks he took to recover what he could and they see that he is obviously honest enough to return it...the only consequence will be a "thank you" and perhaps, letting some people know that there are still some decent people in the world! If they ask for ID, I'm sure it would only be to award any unclaimed money after 30 days...not to check to ensure this honest person isn't a terrorist! I think you have been watching too many B movies! Meantime.....for Gary N......:clap2: GOOD ON YA!
22. That was part of the reason I bought a big coushie tourer. I figured it would help me slow down and be "responsible"...meaning save the fines and suspensions! So far so good... but slow is a relative term!
23. for some people, Full Dress means saddlebags , trunk box and fairing. Though I wouldn't expect a dealer to be so loose with the description.
24. This bunch sure likes to count! Countdown to Muffinman coming home ---14* Countdown to PIP-----------------------24* Countdown to 10,000 members-----------35* It must have been all those hours with Sesame St. That's 3! 3 counting threads! Ha Ha Ha (accompanied by lightning and thunder) *These figures were obtained thru the latest post in each of those related threads and the originator of this post makes no claims on the accuracy of the said figures
25. I think like Condor said....years back it was an acknowledgement of another free spirit...a brother rider. Today...there are so many bikes on the road that I don't really feel special or any real comeraderee....sometimes I just don't bother! Now when I see a venture....
