  1. Gary what a great trip, I'm so sorry to hear Mary got sick. Same thing happened to me and Jen on vacation a few years back, a quick stop for some food a few hours later she was bent over stuff was coming out of both... well you know the rest of the story. Wish Mary well from both of us and have a safe trip home. George&Jen
  2. Looking forward to any updates you can provide Gary. Pictures if you can! George
  3. I would buy a newer Royal Star to get the realiability your after.
  4. hey enjoy the new bike, a friend of mine had one I loved the way it looked and rode!
  5. Had an accident almost 4 years ago to the day, went over the bars into a windshield and onto the pavement on the other side of the van that you guessed it turned left in front of me. I had an armor equipped jacket on and I'm here to say all my injuries were lower body. Maybe armor jackets aren't as cool as leather but they are number one in my book when it comes to picking out riding gear! By the way I like the yellow!
  6. Hey Wally sounds like mine less the Khrome Werks exhaust, never bothers me.
  7. Could be a goose in there somewhere hiding. Otherwise its kind of hard to pinpoint but I'd say its in the air intake system somewhere. Its not a mechanical kind of noise, if I pull in the clutch it doesn't make any difference. Its not that noticable or worrisome just curious to what it could be.
  8. I've been reading about a couple other noises and it got me thinking about my 06 RSTD and the kind of honking noise it makes when its iding higher than normal cold with the choke half on. It has a kind of rythem and is not there once I shut the choke off and its at a normal rpm. Any ideas?
  9. here are a few pics of my 06 RSTD at the dealership just before I bought it a few weeks ago. Since then I have changed the exhaust tips to the Khrome Werks turn downs, put the original height Cee Bailey tinted windshield and lowers on and added chrome reservoir covers. The guy that had it before me me didn't leave me much to do, I'm pretty happy with it, well for now anyway...
  10. Wow Gunky that thing looks very cool, I love the pipes bet it sounds great too!
  11. Wow sorry to hear about that, and I thought the wind blew hard here in southern Ontario...
  12. Well here is a pic of the job. It went perfect, I used many of your suggestions and wanted to say thanks!
  13. Wow 14 offers and still not sold, must be holding out for close to the "buy it now". Anybody here try an offer?
  14. Funny I just went from a Harley to a Royal Star and now I feel all grown up!
  15. I agree that could easily be a beutiful cycle again. Probably $4500 would do it, replace the seat (keep the tan though) probably tires and a major tuneup and your in business. Hope someone here gets it!
  16. Probably a happy new owner bringing home his new ride! Good report a picture would have been great though LOL, hopefully they will find their way to this site if not already here...
  17. Oh what a feeling! Way to go nothing like closing a deal and having the title in hand!
  18. Well this is interesting, I had to add some fluid to my clutch reservoir the other day on my 06 that went into service in 07 and noticed how much clearer the new fluid was. That got me thinking I should do a fluid change but after reading this thread it's a for sure thing to happen first chance I get.
  19. As just signing up as a new member I was really pleased to see the VR List, what a great idea. Is there a place to put in GPS co ordinates that I may have missed? Also if you are planning a trip how is the best way to know what members are along your travel route?
  20. I like doing them both. Right now it's a tough decision for me when I have to decide which one to do. What I'm really looking forward to is when I'm retired and have lots of time to do them both!
  21. I thought I should post a pic of the light rim.
  22. I think this is the part number you are looking for, it lists at $162.08 USD. My 2006 RSTD has the visor style headlight rim and that's what I looked up. SKU: 1D6-84315-00-00 RIM, HEADLIGHT
  23. well I just went from a 96 cu in HD to the V 4 Royal Star and don't miss the twin at all. I've always liked how unique the Royal Star motorcycle and it's engine is, and not to mention the sound it produces with the Khrome Werks exhaust. Your probably just having a case of wanting something new to ride. I'm finally down to one motorcycle, it's nice just having one to pay insurance on and to maintain, keeps it simple and more time to ride. Don't jump into anything maybe the urge will pass! LOL
  24. I'm not real happy with my self canceling turn signals on my Royal Star from what I've read on other threads I don't think there is anything wrong with them. They just seem to cancel too soon or too late if I have to turn them on a second time. Maybe I will get use too the way they work as I've only had the bike a couple of weeks, but anybody else noticed they are a little quirky?
  25. The only information is what the sellers on eBay are offering which is quite brief. On the Yamaha web site they don't even mention them so I'm assuming that the On Tour line has been discontinued. From what I can tell it is a textile jacket with a waterproof liner and some armor.
