  1. The CB antenna goes on the left. Mike
  2. Holy cow. Hope everything goes well. Mike
  3. My opinion is worthless since. Well since I wrecked my Venture. The insurance company paid me off. So I went shopping for a new bike cash in hand. I came home with another Venture. Nothing else felt quite right. Mike
  4. I paid 12.50 for a pack of 50 with free shipping. Mike
  5. Sorry to hear about the crash but glad everyone came through ok. Mike
  6. Need to call him and tell him you are with the IRS and if he doesn't pay up he will be arrested. The cops are on the way. Mike
  7. Your gona like that one. It's gorgeous. Mike
  8. Can you add some info to this. My new-used bike came to me with the windshield stay end tabs broken and it has been bugging me. Mike
  9. "Mother yammy knows best!" Ha ha ha ha ha Thanks for the info. I ordered a pack today. Mike
  10. Wind tunnel tested? Mike
  11. Don First let me thank you for being concerned about the members. This forum is very open to discussion. If this previous member felt things were amiss he should have spoken up. He could have gotten his concerns out in the open but he chose not to. Perhaps he was talking about some of us not being to happy about Yamaha discontinuing the Venture. My feeling is he is trying to justify leaving the site. As a side note if you ever feel inclined to bash a Venture you can start with mine. She's tough and she can take it. And she is fast. Mike
  12. Clymer manual M374 'Yamaha Royal Star 1996-2003' has a fairly detailed procedure for engine disassembly. If all else fails make your own timing marks before disassembly. But I seriously recommend getting the manual. Mike
  13. That is similar to the v-nose I have. It works pretty well for me. I use it as my motorcycle garage and work shop. Only occasionally does it leave my driveway. I can tell you that backing a v-nose with a short tongue is a pain in ta. I insulated the roof and added electrical outlets and a wallboard heater. I am happy with it. As I am sure you will be with yours. Mike
  14. The slip joint is on the engine side. It needs grease. The differential side does not require grease although it won't hurt it. Mike
  15. Since this is a hydraulic clutch there is really no way adjust the free travel. What you might try is measure the steels thickness. New and old ones as a mix and match. If you have some that are thicker than the others you might be able to take out some space. So out with a thin, in with a thicker to end up with less free travel. Just be careful or you could end up with a clutch that grabs. If this scares you then do not do it. Good Luck Mike
  16. Put a volt meter on the battery. Attempt to crank her again while watching the volt meter. Did the meter pull below 9V? If so it is probably the battery. Did the meter hold above 9.5V? If so it is probably a battery connection, or a faulty safety switch preventing it from starting. Mike
  17. What Condor said +1 Mike
  18. So Hawks had nothing to do with it? Mike
  19. An amp meter would be more accurate in determining load but is much harder to wire in. At least until somebody comes up with a good inductive unit. Mike
  20. I would think the dealer could check the history with Yamaha and probably determine the previous owner(s) from the service history. It just depends if they want to put in the extra effort. Mike
  21. How do you get 32,000 miles in one month? There must be additional previous owners. Perhaps the dealer could put you in contact with them. Mike
  22. As long as I can turn it off I don't really care. Mike
  23. Whew Mike
  24. CB antennas need to be about 18 feet long. Since this is not really possible on a motorcycle, a coil of wire is wound up in the CB antenna to make up the difference in length. So the antenna with the coil in the middle of it is the CB antenna. The antenna mount on the left side of the bike is wired to the CB radio so that is where the CB antenna goes. The antenna mount on the right aide of the bike is wired to the AM-FM radio. Mike
  25. The mod you are referring to is for a 1999-2013 Venture with stock pipes. It is unlikely to be applicable to a four muffler set up. Mike
