  2. Looks pretty cool but I prefer to put my stuff IN a trailer, not on it.
  3. Shirley and I have included Ponch and family in our prayers.
  4. I dont know about 2 ply vs 6 ply but 55 pounds is WAAAY too much air in that tire. I have been running 25 pounds in my Aluma MCT tires for around 30000 miles and they still look new. (Wish I could get that kind of mileage out of the MC tires). I carry a plug kit and pump instead of a spare.
  5. 3 to 4 hours commuting. I guess I "average" around 30 hours just riding. That number can fluctuate greatly tho.
  6. I have no doubt the ins co will require me to get a professional estimate. I already know where I'll take it. I seriously doubt there is more damage, it was a very low speed impact and they stopped almost as soon as they made contact. But a pro will make that determination. I dont know if the shop will charge for the estimate or not, but the guy I talked to at the ins co said they would pay that. I may be jumping the gun as well. They MAY require that a shop does the repairs. We'll see.
  7. Hmmm. Black IS the fastest color. Part of the reason I got this bike is because Shirley LOVES the color. But this may be an option if I cant find the right color. The only damage is to the fender. I've checked it out very well.
  8. Yep! That pretty well says it all.
  9. A woman backed into me at the gas pumps and rolled the tip of the front fender under. I can feel a slight crease in the fender back near the forks where it mounts. The crease is hard to see but I can feel it. The fender will need to be replaced. It appears their ins. is going to pay up and I'm waiting on a call from their claims adjuster. An estimate has not been done yet. I'm hoping after the estimate is done they'll wright me a check for estimate, parts and labor. I could then install the fender myself and pocket the labor $. I don't know if it will work out this way or not. Luckily this is my first expierance with something like this. The problem is, I cant find a fender in my color. No, I havent checked with the dealer yet. I'm trying to save a little. 2009 RSV"S" in Seashell/Raven. Any ideas where I can find one?
  10. Look at the Honda VTX 1300. I have an 04 model with over 65000 miles on it. Toured with it, 2 up pulling a trailer. It sits alot lower than the RSV with a much lower center of gravity. It acually feels small compard to the RSV. It should do you well. I love mine.

  12. You know a furnace has a fan too, right? Fans do little good at 100+ degrees. My AC went out last week. 2 days to fix. Lucky for us I was off so we just went to my sisters house. She has a pool. Hope you get it fixed quick
  13. Sounds like a great day. Cooler temp is ONE of the reasons we can be found in the mountains most weekends.
  14. I know what you mean. I hate when we roll up on something like that. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to see it. Hope they weren't hurt too bad.
  15. How come every time I win something it ends up costing me?
  16. Martha & the Vandellas.
  17. I can't believe they let people like that drive trucks.
  18. Pppfffttt! I was going faster than that on my stock 09 RSV last week. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?pictureid=5687&albumid=517&dl=1310929526&thumb=1
  19. Shirley stood up, leaned over me and held the bars so I could hold the camera with both hands.
  20. I've been pulling a MCT for about 5 years and couldn't be happier with it. Great find on a great trailer.
  21. This thing showed me doing 334 mph, off road, flying over 3000 foot mtn tops. I don't think I'd put alot of confidance in miles traveled. I stopped at an overlook for about 5 minuts. It still showed I was doing 135 mph and that I was 30 miles from where I really was. It's never told me to turn left in a tunnel, but it has tried to get me to turn left off the side of a mountain.
  22. The land speed record is 376.363605 mph on a highly modified suzuki. I think I'm going to put on an air kit, some pipes, cut down the windshield and head to Bonneville. I may just have a shot at this. 25 September 2010Bonneville, U.S.Rocky Robinson U.S.ATop Oil-Ack Attack streamliner2,600 cc (160 cu in)376.363605.697twin Suzuki engines [18] First record over 600 km/h (373 mph)
  23. I keep hearing you guys with the first gen's bragging about how fast they are. Well, heres proof that my second gen is not only fast but handels very well also. This was done on Ga hwy 348 (Richard B. Russell Scenic Hwy.) which cuts through the mtn's of north Ga at some of ga's highest elevations. I never felt like I was doing more than 70mph. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?pictureid=5687&albumid=517&dl=1310929526&thumb=1 I don't want to hear anything else about the speed of first gen's. :no-no-no::rasberry:

  25. I ordered mine Saturday and they arrived Tuesday. Installed today. They work as advertised. The only problem I have is getting Shirley to push the button to talk. On second thought, maybe thats not a problem at all.
