  1. Rick. PM and phone number sent to you. Cheers, Gary
  2. LilBeaver; I saw your post about your windshield last night and planned to private message you. However, Gary N is correct and I can help you out if you would like. I have an original windshield for my 05 Venture that I can give you. A couple of little scratches but I'm sure that won't matter. Penticton is about 4.5 hours from Vancouver in south central BC near the US border. Not in Vancouver but not THAT far all things considered. Anyway, up to you. PM me if I can be of help. Gary B
  3. Ron, we are terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your friend in this way. Its a tradgedy in any light but drunk driving has to be stopped. The penalties are just too lite to get the message across. Hang on to the memories and cherish them.
  4. I'm very happy to hear you came out of this as well as you did, especially after seeing how much damage your bike took. Hope you recover quickly and make out well with the insurance. Ya, nail the driver for her negligence. Half of them shouldn't be on the road anyway.
  5. We sure do have our share. And both of us have some good ones too.
  6. So what makes you think it was Jake and not his owner???? Man, at first I thought you were going to say you ignited something with your cigarette. Glad it was only "P".
  7. Good question. We have almost 40k miles on our 05 and because people have had this happen I keep an eye on it but it has never been loose where as others fall off after no time. I better knock on wood or something!!
  8. I hope Squid doesn't mind if I jump in on this part. I used 1/4" aluminum and the template MrRadi8 showed in his post and did not trim the corner off. I made them last winter and have put 9k miles on with them. There is no obvious flex and they appear just fine when I inspect them visually. At a total cost of $5 Cdn I didn't worry about corrosion. So cheap I could replace them easily.
  9. I took some pictures today and will try and post them here. Hope they help. You might not have full range of adjustment of the rider pegs with the deflectors but should be able to get pretty close.
  10. Yes you can. I have both. I have the Kuryakyn Offset Dualies. Part number I think is 7976 and others will work as well, just takes a little time to adjust them properly.
  11. There are no negatives really to the 130 size tire at speed that I have ever noticed nor can I recall negative comments by others. The actual width of a 130 will actually vary a little between manufactures. I just did a quick measure of my Avon 130 and this may not be 100% but its pretty close to 5 1/2 inches wide.
  12. Sorry, I don't have a pic but there in the site somewhere or look at Yamaha Accessories for the Venture or Tour Deluxe. They attach to the lower guards that are behind your lower fairing. Same place you would attach rider pegs. There is room for both the deflectors and rider pegs.
  13. Thanks, interesting info. I'm thinking the ATF/Acetone mix wouldn't be friendly to painted surfaces. ??
  14. That would be my suggestion too and they use USPS so the shipping will be more reasonable.
  15. The Catalytic converter started in 05. I have a set of those from a RK and did not punch out the Cat. No loss of power or vibration for me. The Cat does not restrict the pipes to any significant extent.
