Oh yeah, researching. That's why I'm asking for input. I like my Teamset & it's worked very well but the ear speakers are a bit thin in sound.

Does anyone have any experience using the UCLEAR HBC100 Bluetooth helmet communicator? It's microphone is built into the speakers. It says it's military specs and that the wind/traffic/engine noise is eleminated. My current SCALA Team Set is getting a bit old and I'm thinking of changing our headsets out. www.uclear-digital.com/

I guess I'm a sort of odd ball (there are many more like me of course). I have never done drugs, no marijuana, no cocaine, no meth....nothing. A 12 pack of Miller long necks will last me 2-3 weeks and a bottle of Gentleman Jack sometimes for 6 months! My vice is coffee. My father had an alcohol problem and I was a drug counselor in the Navy for a short while. I have been drunk a time or two when I was younger. I did not like it!

Let me expand this question/topic if I may.....How do I add maps for Europe and Australia to the US/Can/Mex maps? I did not find any on that link.

Comfort: We've done several 300-700 mile rides and have no complaints for comfort. I would suggest (personal preference) a driver back rest. I have friends who have made rides well over 1000 miles and they say much the same. We're doing the entire Natchez Trace Parkway next month. We did part of it last year. That will be our longest ride so far. I anticipate no discomfort. Well perhaps the price of gas Mileage: I get an average of 42-46 MPG on my 2009 Venture, two up, bags and trunk packed. I follow the speed limit pretty closely, 70mph on interstates (cruise control) and whatever is posted on the state/county roads. Engine: As previously stated the Venture engine/drive system is considered "bullet proof". A lot of riders talk/complain/mention a whine when driving (not the passenger ). I have that on my Venture but don't find it to be a problem or annoying. I just got used to it. Not every Venture seems to be affected. Acceleration: The Venture will keep up and/or outrun any of the dressers. To enter a busy interstate ramp (I-40 east to Knoxville for example), just cruise up the ramp in third gear, twist the throttle and you'll be seeing triple digits before you know it!! Twisties: I live and ride in east Tennessee. We have Hanging Limb/the Dragon/the Snake and many many more twisties. The Venture in the parking lot at paddle walk speed is top heavy loaded with passenger. Lots of loaded dressers are also, but when you get up to "feet on the floorboards" speed, it handles quite nimbly. You probably already know the Venture has a full audio/CB system. That is the only thing on my bike that has caused a problem. My dealer (Alcoa Good Times) took care of that. -
Just my two cents worth: Last year Hannah and I rode from Banner Elk, NC to just west of Knoxville, TN. It rained all the way and when I say rained I mean it was NOT just a sprinkle now and then. Our new Frogg Togg suits left us wet (damp really) up the center of the front of the upper body. Also the crotch area of my suit left me looking like I had "had an accident" (smile). Considering that we did a five and a half hour ride in hard rain I suppose that was not too bad. Still I really believe the Frogg Togg suits performed in a less than satisfactory manner.

Yeah, it happens! I started working with computers in the Navy in 1968. It was a Univac 1004. Been a computer nerd/geek/junkie ever since and other than a single course in college using Apple products, I've always been a "PC man". BTW, over the years the most crashes I've ever had on computers were those in the art class at college. They would crash while recovering from a crash!! Some days students would spend literally the entire class waiting for their machine to reboot to a usable state. Long story short....I bought an iPad 2 a few months ago. Love it! The only problem, my wife can't seem to put it down.

Why would that be a Clarion problem? That door is part of the fairing.

Bought our sheep skins in Exmouth, W Australia in 1985. I still have them and use them on my 2009 Venture! Cool in summer, warm in winter plus it just looks good/different.

Playboy I see you're near Rockwood. Do you have any links with photos for that MP3 splitter you mentioned?

Two Irishmen are sitting in the pub window seat, watching the front door of the brothel over the road. The local Methodist pastor appears, glances around and quickly goes inside. "Would you look at that!" says the first Irishman. "Didn't I always say what a bunch of hypocrites they are?" No sooner are the words out of his mouth than a Rabbi appears at the door, furtively looks about, and goes inside. "Another one trying to fool everyone with pious preaching and stupid hats!" They continue drinking their beer roundly condemning the vicar and the rabbi when they see their own Catholic priest knock on the door. "Ah, now dat's sad." says the second Irishman. "One of the girls must have died...

I have and use that Joe Rocket bag (even the same color) on my RSV. It is small, holds what I want/need and I simply pull it off and into the motel it goes. One thing, I did remove the rubber bib/strip from my tank. The bag fits much better and I think the Venture looks better without it. You may of course want or need a larger bag, so this is just my two cents worth

What company would that be? I didn't get a link.

Have you considered using "hibernate" instead?

I'm waiting for the Hannigan kit to be built/paint matched for my Venture. You're close to Murray and the Hannigan folks. I believe Hannigan uses automotive rear end. Whichever you choose I believe they are both good for us old timers. I'm having mine done because my left knee does not always fully support when I first get up from a seated position. And I have already had the Venture tip over with the wife aboard. Geez that thing is a bear to get back up!!

I agree, great site and really good members. I've asked a number of questions (some bordering on dumb) and never had a "snooty" reply. I'll definitely be renewing.

Thanks...the bag is on it's way to Murray. Met Randy and Kim (www.volunteercyclesandtrikes.com) this past weekend. Nice folks. Waiting for them to call and tell me when my kite will be available for installation. Apparently it takes 5-7 weeks to build each kit, paint etc. Sure am anxious. We have a couple of longish trips planned for May.

I use a Nelson-Rigg half cover. It takes care of the entire top half of the bike and is small enough to take on weekenders without encroaching on too much of our luggage space.
-
I looked at ColorRite, got the paint code and they still need the saddlebag. Don't know why they insist on having the code and the saddlebag? I took the bag up to Volunteer Cycles and Trikes so the process has been started at least.

I was 14, it was a Cushman Eagle. First motorcycle was a Triumph T-21 350CC in Ireland.

Sometime circa 1966/67 while stationed in Londonderry, N. Ireland I rode a 650 Matchless G12 CSR from the Navy base down to the town, out the Prehan road to New buildings, left at New Buildings and on to Tagherena where my girlfriend (now wife) lived. From the townsite at Craigavon Bridge out to New Buildings and on to Taherena. I made the first set of tracks! For the the area it was a major snowfall. It was about 4-6 inches. I almost froze my keester off, my fingers have yet to warm up, my ears still tingle if I flick them, but...it was worth it that evening!! -
errr, uhh.....Who'd a thunk it? A "Wing" site has both patches I want. They even have a Canadian patch. Thanks, I'll be ordering those patches and I appreciate you providing that link.
