I'll be 68 my next birthday! Just had my '09 Venture triked because I can see that my left knee is apparently about 10 years older than the rest of me!

Checked out the 3M Paint protection film, watched a couple of videos. I would have to have that professionally installed. Closest installer is Morristown, TN. May give them a call for a price guesstimate. Thanks.

Not sure if this will be a help or not....Hannah and I use Consumer Cellular. It is a "no contract" and I believe they use the A.T.&T. network/towers. We have had excellent service from them for several years. And they have boosted minutes two or three times at no extra charge. We also get an AARP discount, small but everything helps. http://www.consumercellular.com/

I find that when I click on the globe icon to check a members location I frequently get something wildly incorrect. What's up with that?

Motorcycle Etiquette: How Not To Wave Like A Dork!
alwrmcusn replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I'm a "3" and/or a "4" waver. I also wave at pretty much anything on two wheels and I hope someday to add a Segway to my list of "waved at". -
Does anyone know if/where fender/stone guards are available to fit the Hannigan trike? I've spent a few minutes searching and I can find them for every trike kit but Hannigan. I spent an hour this morning washing the trike and cleaning bug guts off the bike. I'd like to avoid gravel chips and such to the paint job.

The area should be pretty good for October. Of course things happen. If you want to hear God laugh, just tell him your plans Our STAR chapter (www.starchapter424.org) usually schedules our last group ride in October (end of Oct) and after that it's call a buddy for a spontaneous ride. We are a ways off from the Franklin area but still fairly similar conditions.

Just under two weeks with the new trike and we just today returned from a four day ride down the Natchez Trace. The trike handled great. Thanks to Hannigan Trikes and to Randy at Volunteer Cycles and Trikes for doing the conversion. The trike rides even smoother than the two wheeler. Too bad my MPG dropped from 45/46 to 32 MPG. Oh well. We even had enough (barely (smile)) luggage space for my wife! Met some STAR members along the Trace near Jackson, MS. Natchez was terrific, crossed the Mississippi into Vidalia, LA. Great trip with some super friends who rode with us.

Rode the entire Natchez Trace Friday/Saturday. Mid 90's both days. Lots of hydration stops along the way!! Rode Natchez to Leeds, AL on Sunday, again mid 90's and again lots more hydration stops! Leeds to Rockwood this morning, cooler ride until about Chattanooga where the sun was high enough to start heating things up pretty good again. You may not feel thirsty, but you sure better hydrate! I prefer Gatorade or Power Ade.

I just triked my 2009 Venture last week. I have a rear shock with 23K on it. I have no idea what a "final" is. It's yours for the shipping if you still need/want it.

2nd Gen Handle Bar ?
alwrmcusn replied to GolfVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hmmm, I did not know for sure so I called Ed's Cycles in Cleveland, TN. Gina says the Venture handlebar is 1 inch. -
I use the same Nelson Rigg half cover I used before I triked. Basically I just want to keep the "control room" dry!

Fender man myself but that is a special story and a for sure keeper on the guitar!! Any photos??

The last 100 yards!! I did not think he was going to get that nose out there, but he did. I'd sure like to see a Triple Crown winner this year!!

Just rode my 2009 Venture (Hannigan) home yesterday. It sure is a nice looking trike. It sure was rather scary riding hwy 321's curvy road after being so familiar with it on two wheels. Hope you enjoy it when it gets finished. -
Brought my 2009 Venture trike home yesterday afternoon. Two hour ride home, curvy roads, four lanes and some interstate. Definite different ride style!!

2nd Gen Handle Bar ?
alwrmcusn replied to GolfVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I would be interested in a 2nd Generation Venture accessory mounting bar. I have passed several PM's with with "Golf&Venture" concerning my thoughts on the bar. This is a photo of my 2009 Venture and the inset has a rough (very rough (smile)) depiction of the bar as I see it. My reason for wanting this accessory mounting bar is because my cup holder blocks my view of the low fuel warning light unless I lean forward to see over the top of the holder. If there is anything in the holder, I have to lean left/right etc. My idea is that the bar would mount with a device similar to my cup holder mount, one on each side and the bar across the center. It must allow fuel cap access of course. Anyone else show interest in this idea? -
Is there anything similiar for the 2nd gen Venture? I was talking to another rider about how to design/make a crossbar for peripheral gadget mounting just a couple of weeks ago. The 2nd gen, as we see it, would require some sort of adjustable mount on each end to fasten to the bars.

That is a SERIOUSLY good looking Venture!! I sure wish there was an aftermarket for the rear speakers/housing!!

Hannah (wife, who is from Ireland) was at the top of the yard two days ago. She was gathering and tieing the limbs of a butterfly bush to keep them from dragging on the ground. A little garter snake about 10 inches long wrapped around her wrist. In amongst the branches and leaves of the bush she did not notice until she stepped back. Wow!!! she is 70 years old we've been married 42 years and I had no idea she could scream that loud, sling her arm that violently and move that fast from the top of the yard down to deck!! . That poor little snake musta been slung 30 yards before hitting the ground!

Thanks CSF My main use would be driver/passenger intercom. I use a modular helmet in the colder months and and open face in the warmer. Hannah wears hearing aids and we like the ability to communicate without helmet smacks, rib pokes etc I can see/hear my GPS just fine without using it's bluetooth and I prefer my MP3 via the Ventures speakers.
