As I sit here tonight and watch the snow pile up outside and look at a projected low tomorrow of 7F, I can only be greatful to the wonderful folks who invented global warming....

What do the letters stand for in the cycle names?
OldBear replied to a1bummer's topic in Watering Hole
'course it could be worse.....you could have an alphbet soup bike, you know, one of those FXWGLSBMF's or somethin:buttkick:! Seriously though, you have to look at each individual manufacturer's own line of machines and then try and decipher what the heck they mean. .. Don't try and make sense of it, it'll drive you balmy:bang head: -
Thanks Guys! This is exactly the information I need. I'm gonna start with WD-40 (since I've got it here already!). The decals mostly "gone", but I've got a good bit of glue left. Hopefully your ideas will solve that problem. Thanks again!!!

Sorry to hear about you guys losing your buddy. I know they sure do get under our skin don't they? We've got a 6 year old lab here than someone dropped off (country road) when he was about 3 months old. He's a housemouse and the biggest baby you can imagine IN THE HOUSE. Outside, he "runs" the farm and chases off whatever else shows up (coyotes, fox, dogs, cats, deer, rabbits etc. etc) He's our buddy and we'd be lost without him. Previous had Bouvier des Flanders for 11 years. Would never have believed a "dog" could become such an important part of life, but they surely DO, and a little dog can sure leave a big hole in your life when they are gone. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm ATGATT. I've got an Olympia Airglide jacket and pants for hot weather and heavier stuff for when it's cool(er) or cold. I've ridden and done OK when it's upper 90's. A little warmwhen stuck in traffic but not bad at all when you're move. A evap o dana around the neck and I'm fine regardless of temps. Again, it's a personal thing. How much risk are ya willing to take? I'm too old for road rash if I can avoid it:clap2:

+1 on the dimmer switch. Those things will get rusty/funky from road salt and trash and give you a dead short (and THAT's the reason they no longer put 'em on the floor!)

Remember the old Charlie Daniels song about "a big tall tree and short piece of rope"? Kinda applies here too don't it?

Unfortunately Boomer's right on the money here. You'd probably be "offending" someone if you made 'em whiz in a bottle and be straight to get their Welfare!

That's why I've got a Nuvi rather than a Zumo....Every couple of years I just replace with a new unit for less money that two year's worth of updates...can't do that with a $500 + gps...

Started mine today. (Had to buy a new battery for the duc:think: despite it being on a battery tender (old battery, what can ya say?). Anyway both ran well. Wanted to take a bit of a ride 'cause the temps were up in the mid 40's, but I've got a 1/4 mile driveway and it's still got some ice on it, so I'll wait another day or so:happy65:

Hey guys, Need to pick your brains for a minute. Does anybody know how to remove a decal from a painted metal surface without screwing up the paint? I put a new battery in my old Duc today and had the tank propped up. Fuel leaked out:thumbdown:and messed up the warning decal on the back of the tank. No harm done really PROVIDED that I can get the rest of the $%$##! thing and the glue OFF. Any ideas or suggestions will be Greatly appreciated!! Thanks all!!.......Hm...maybe a guy could take the "Yamaha" decal off the back of the trunk...put an HD logo there and REALLY confuse the Harley dudes:innocent-emoticon:

We had a Meet n Eat there in October. I think that was the first one in the area. I'm "new" as well having just joined VentureRider in June last year.- 20 replies

I've had good luck with arctic cat. Got two of 'em, a '99 300 and an '05 500 TRV. Both are 4wd with a winch. I prefer the old 300 because of maneuverability in tight spots. Also, it's got the Suzuki engine with a three range transmission, giving you 15 speeds forward, 3 reverse. An absolutely GREAT ATV.

Congratulations and good for her. She is definitely doing the right thing by going for RN. The pay is much better and she will ALWAYS have job security!

Congrats on the new bike! You'll quickly learn to love it's ride and power and the handling cames after a while (I came from an FJR and the weight DID take some getting used to. For the clock, try holding the "select" button in...it SHOULD bring up the clock! Good Luck with the new bike and welcome aboard!

What he said! Mine bucks and generally doesn't like FIFTH at much under 65... Yeah, you CAN shift at very low speeds, but why? She'll shake, rattle and roll 'till you get her up to crusing speed.....just wind her up a little don't even use 4th 'till your above 45 or so and you and the bike will be a lot happier!
