  1. My apologies. I'm running behind as usual, but my new shoes is on and I'm ready to get crankin'. Since I'm right here at Montgomery thought I'd start there. If some one wants to meet me in one of my neighboring states for the hand off let me know and I'll make travel plans accordingly.
  2. I bought mine from a member of this site for 2500, and I've seen them in varying condition from 2000 to 2500, 3500 seems to me a bit high, but I've not seen it. Even so, if it is in excellent condition as described it's probably a good deal, IMO.
  3. I'm concerned I'm not seeing the diagram properly a sleeve about 3" long with about 3/4" smaller outside diameter on one end fell out and I'm concerned I put the wrong end in. It was covered with grease and fit over the inner gear. The diagram has left me feeling not real good. On the other hand maybe I didn't put enough grease on the gears, but I doubt that.
  4. Finally got the rear tire mounted and wheel back on, but to what I think is to much gear noise. Not enough grease or did I put something back wrong? Little help please?
  5. Doubt RideOn can handle a gash. 1/4 inch hole is what it can handle.
  6. OK, you got the jump on us, but I did get half a tire on today. Maybe tomorrow I'll finish up? 1st Gens are a bear IMO.
  7. Beer30 that is? He ain't been on here since January. Beer are you alive?
  8. He was just trying to be funny. He did give you a compliment. At least he didn't ask, "Is that one of those foreign jobs?"
  9. I had that problem recently with the 86. I just rocked it a little and finally worked it into neutral. Later I adjusted the linkage so it the pedal was a tad higher and i was using a straighter push pull.
  10. Man that is good news. Glad Dave is up, if not running, yet. When I dropped mine in '06 every one held me down in a giant fire ant hill til the EMS arrived. I was fit to be tied, but I was walking the next day.
  11. Aren't we a fine lot? I was just gutted like a fish early March to fix a bowel and hernia and am not supposed to do anything until the first week in May. Too late, I think I already did something wrong, my guts are killing me. I'm just not one to sit around much. I was hoping to do the tires today, but my friend didn't come by to help and I knew I couldn't do it all myself. I think I pulled something getting on the motorcycle and lifting it off the side stand, not sure, but it does hurt.
  12. Been there, done that. Just got a replacement bike in December and now I'm out of work again. Health reason this time. Back at the auto plant in May though. Any way, just thought I'd let you know the auto industry is alive and well in the deep south. Have you ever considered moving?
  13. I didn't think we were to let th e other team know what we were using for a baton and to be honest I haven't thought of anything. I'll come up with something.
  14. Out of work myself and off and on for the past 1 1/2 years I understand. Congratulations on the assignment.
  15. Tire change for me tomorrow and then run up to Montgomery for the Alabama capitol. Then I'll head south toward Florida or east toward Georgia and pass the baton. What say ya'll? Any one in the Tallahassee area?
  16. Good luck! Prayers for the best outcome!
  17. And there you go again being preachy!
  18. I like the way you think, young man, but I must reserve the right to flame or not to flame. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  19. You wouldn't be lifting the entire weight of the bike, but still, if it could be used and I doubt it without adaptations. I wouldn't try it.
  20. Well, IMO Nebraska is a northern plains state. Is that how we're doing it, or is it just be on a team based on your riding preferences?
  21. Hey, make this post a sticky and each time a member joins they can add their own name to the list.
