  1. My sister living in Texas says it has been so dry they use this as a rain gauge.
  2. This guy must be a giant to see over his windshield.
  3. We've never met but I've really enjoyed reading all your posts; you've got technical insight, a positive attitude and great sense of humor. All the best with the surgery; I'm sure you'll come through it with flying colors! Cheers,
  4. Great video but maybe she should also be promoting not doing 120MPH as well?
  5. You are making a difference and enjoying life to the fullest. God Bless!
  6. If you have the chance, check out Quebec City. A lot of history and very scenic.
  7. You also may want to check the grade of that bolt/capscrew. Grade 5, 8, 10 or ? Just a thought.
  8. Hopefully you are correct. I paid the GST and PST to bring vehicles over the border, but that was a few years ago. Since we pay HST on almost everything here in Ontario I figured it may have changed to GST plus the HST. But maybe not? Here in Ontario, we do pay HST on the GST on our gasoline. Tax the tax...go figure? Best way to find out is to call the RIV or check out their web site.
  9. Go through Bar Harbour Maine...it is really beautiful; be sure to go to the National Park in Bar Harbour; amazing views. They have the Cat which will take you across to N.S from Bar Harbour. In N.S there's so many places to see, Bay of Fundy, Peggy's Cove and many quaint places along the Atlantic Coast. The people in N.S are really friendly and the lobster is amazing. I found New Brunswick to be very nice to travel through but the scenery seems to be trees, trees and more trees. If you can make it to PEI; make it part of your trip; it's another great place to visit. Where ever you travel there, you will enjoy! IMHO
  10. A couple of years ago, I had brought a couple of cars and and bikes over to Canada from the US. You'll require a US title for the bike, but the trailer requires an ownership/title with a 17 digit ser# which it likely won't likely have (depending on the age). Since the bike is over 15 years old, you do not require a recall letter for the RIV. I believe there is still a $195.00 border fee and then the GST and HST to pay on the Canada side. Sometimes at the border they will ask to see your EBay add, for proof of price paid. For more info check out the RIV info site.
  11. I see that no one will ever run into the back of you!
  12. I read his original post too... and I think he was asking for pillow top seats...nothing more
  13. I think I'd trust the people standing more than the one that's sittin'. I'm just sayin
  14. Ya that's right...I met up with Charlie and Evan at Evans cottage the other day for a fish fry. I was amazed at Charlie's cooking as it was the best fish I have ever eaten. He has my vote as Ontario's Northern Iron Chef. These are 2 great guy's and the weather for eating dinner outside at the lake was perfect; but Charlie's fish stories...now that's something else.
  15. Hmmm...the beginning of something good?
  16. Texting on a bike...at least he'll never know what hit him.
  17. I drive a Caravan so I used to wave at other Dodge Caravan's and no one ever waved back. Maybe there are just too many? What I do now is just ride and wave at those who will wave at me first; if it is convenient.
  18. I rode from Manhattan KS, to Marshall MI in about 14-16 hours (Over 800 mi) on my new Concours. Near the end of that trip I stopped at Bob Evans to get a meal; I must of looked pretty raunchy because before I ordered the waitress asked if I had money, and she sat me at a table away from everyone else. When I went into the restaurant restroom my hair was matted down and greasy; my face was black with dirt and sun burnt. I guess I couldn't blame her? I don't think I'll do that again...eat at Bob Evans.
  19. Colder? Must be that global warming everyone's talking about?
  20. Hey...that looks like Brampton!
  21. Intersections that has lights are safer than a Round-About without lights? I haven't seen anyone T-Boned or a multi-car accident at a Round-About yet...have you? I haven't heard of many fatalities either in a these Round-Abouts, compared to a intersection with lights either. I guess where you live must have a lot of accidents in these Round-Abouts As was previously mentioned, many people don't drive safely, don't know what a merge or yield sign means, run the lights at an intersection, don't signal and don't know how to pass.
  22. Poor Pooch. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ndco2Ts8juQ]YouTube - talking dog suffer just because the meat[/ame]
  23. It'll be nice when Yamaha finally decides to put fuel injection on their/this touring model. Ahhh...no more carbs.
