  1. Holy cow!! Seattle with more than 24 hours without rain!!! We not only experienced a rain free day in Seattle when we were there but I got a nice shot of a full moon from the Space Needle as well!
  2. That's kind of a toughie! Well, the obvious is Niagara Falls, but there are sooo many other saights in our state as well, such as Cooperstown, Letchworth State Park, Lake George, etc! If you did the western part of NY state you could see the falls as well as several other historical sites as well as Letchworth State Park, and see the most famous sites of the area as well, Bongo Bob's hangout!!!
  3. OK the pictures don't do it justice, poor color duplication, lighting, etc...
  4. Sure looks shiny!!!!!
  5. Just because you ride a Harley wannabe doesn't mean it has to ACT like one...:stirthepot:
  6. Hmmmm, better put that on my "To Do list" for this week...
  7. You guys would really like what I did today then! I polished 2 sets of the riser part of the handlebars and one set painted the black inset part Gold for Goldie, and the other set Navy Blue for the '85's paint scheme!! The ones for Goldie look dynamite!!! Yes, pictures to follow...
  8. Don't you watch the news????? Nice day, eh?!!? I assume Ken used his fine Police training to regain control of the vehicle... You weren't actually planning on riding home today, were you?? It's gonna be crappy all week!!
  9. They do make paint designed specifically for painting plastic. That's what I am going to use to paint the '85 project bike with. TRhey also make a primer specifically designed for plastic which you can paint regular paint on top of if there is a specific color you are locked in to. Funny thing is that the color scheme I'm going with is 2 tone blue (Navy and medium) with silver accent! We want pictures of yours, or at least I do to see what it looks like. Before, during and after is way cool...
  10. I'm going to be taking my whole fork assembly off and putting on a rebuilt setup, and replacing all the brake lines, calipers, and master cylinders aswell. I could use an extra pair of hands or two gettring things done and making sure I don't accidently drop Goldie on the cold hard concrete floor in the process. The garage is heated, there is half a case of Mexican beer in the garage, and I wil buy pizza and wings for nourishment. I'm thinking next Saturday to get started. If anybody is bored or would like to help, come on over...
  11. Maybe I didn't express it right. I am offering the triple tree off Goldie WITH the original race that is mated to the original bearing. I installed a new bearing on the replacement painted triple tree complete with new race that will go into Goldie when I do the final swap hopefully next weekend...
  12. Uhhh, Squid, I'm looking out my window to a good 4 inches or so of snow as we speak and I do believe we are further south than you...
  13. I have 3, all aluminum. If you can wait a few weeks, I will have the one off of my '84 available. The triple tree assemblys are all the same for all years. I am replacing my lower only because I'm updating to newer style brakes and instaled new bearings and repainted my upper and lower gold and have the whole assembly ready to go complete. I will be removing my front end as a whole and putting in the rebuilt assembly. The '84 has only 15K miles on it and it will have the race for the bearing included.
  14. Uhhhh, cause they need a box to put the parts that fall off into???
  15. Oops, my bad, my mind read Clutch MASTER cylander, not slave... It's heck getting old!
  16. Check the free play of the rear brake pedal. There should be some, if not the master is not completely releasing causing the brakes to drag a little bit...
  17. I am planning on going with E III's this year on my scoot...
  18. Heck, I'll do it for 1/4 million...
  19. You're right, it usualy gets destroyed removing it. In the center it goes into a recess on the pushrod/piston and can be removed with a pick or jeweler's screwdriver.Once you get the rubber out of the groove then the bottom is just a force fit so just pull it out to access the circlip to remove the guts of the unit... If possible, it is a good idea to hone out the cylander before reassembling, and take the time to clean the unit with solvent and make sure the little passageway in the bottom of the resovior is clear.
  20. Rick at Buckeye Performance is a good one, member here and gives a nice discount to Ventureriders...
  21. Welcome aboard! Do a search on "Plastex" for information on how to repair the plastic. f you list what you need there is probably one of us who has what you need and will part with it for a reasonable price. Either that or click on the ebay clasified link to see a listing of all current Venture parts listed. Freebird gets a very smal commission for the site on ebay sales in return for the link...

    Why, yes I AM interested!!!
  23. Word of warning with Teknics jackets, their sizes run small. You may have to order the next larger size. Both Becky and myself had to with both of our "New" jackets...
  24. Thanks, Squeeze, and yes the seals are fresh, just rebuilt the assemblys. All the former dirt bike riders at work say synthetic as well as it holds up better. Just kinda pricy at over $20 a quart...
  25. So, I'm ready to instal my new progressive springs and I'm looking for opinions/facts about which type of fork oil should I use and why. Should I use regular fork oil, a synthetic blend, or a full synthetic? Advantages/disadvantages of each?
