  1. Brian, Glad your on the forum telling us about it. It definitely sucks that it happened, but your here and sounds like quite reasonably on the mend. All the best in your recovery and let us know if there is anything we can help you with.

  8. I haven't posted on the other threads Larry, but I knew Saturday night while we were having Gunboats birthday party as Heather called me. You have been in our prayers and I know that I couldn't have said anything that wasn't mentioned. I am very happy to see your green light on and YOU letting us know that your doing better. Been down, know that, and it's a great feeling to be the one conveying how good one is doing. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts, a machine can be replaced, you, my friend, cannot. I will continue to keep good vibes coming your way and wish you all the best.
  9. It will definitely be good to see you again Art
  10. Yeah it does Rob, with the springs out and the forks completely collapsed, the oil level needs to be 5 1/2" from the top of the tube. I usually just take a combination square and adjust it to the 5 1/2" mark and when the fluid just touches the end of the square I'm good. I have almost always cut the spacers at 3/4 of an inch with good results. I am going to try and cut a set at 1" on my '86 to see the difference in the ride.
  11. Rob, Absolutely you can, you can take a small piece of heavy wall PVC pipe (3/4 or 1" will work) and cut 2 pieces at 3/4 to an inch long, depending on how much spring pressure you want in the forks and a washer to size and install them in. If you have any questions my # is in my profile and I can walk you right through it.
  12. Thats awesome Lewis, I'm very happy to hear that she enjoyed it and your getting all the bugs worked out of it

  19. Ok Folks, I started a post to see if there was interest in a Houston Maintenance Day, folks are sounding like they want one. So here it is, Saturday October 27th will be the main work day, but anyone wanting to come over Friday afternoon and spend a couple of nights are more than welcome. We have 2 1/2 acres and plenty of space for pop up trailers and tents. I have all the tools we'll need to do just about anything you want to try and accomplish. I will ask that you bring whatever fluids you want to change with you. I do have a vacuum bleeder, a Carb and Color Tune, and I'll borrow the tire machine from Doodle and we can do some tires if folks want to. If you can give a yea or nay up top it will give me an idea of how much grub we need to think about. If you have any questions PM me or give me a call, my cell is in my profile. Looking forward to seeing all the brethren again
  20. Ok Then.... Lets call it Saturday October 27th, I'll be up early, so those coming can show as early as they want. There is plenty of space to bring a camper or tent if folks want to make a weekend out of it. I'll have some wood to burn and those that want to spend a couple of nights can sit around a bon fire and chew the fat. Just remember to bring any fluids you want to change out, I can also borrow the tire changer from Kregs house and we could do some tires if someone is so inclined. I have all the tools we'll need to do just about any job as well as an air compressor so we'll be covered on tools. I'll start another thread and folks can sign up so we'll know how many to expect and get some food for. Looking forward to seeing the crew again
  21. It's been a while since the Houston brethren got together, and it's long over due. What say ye to having a fall MD at our place in Cleveland? Lots of room here, the weather will be breaking in a couple of weeks. So would their be any interest in fixing on some bikes and lots of BSing, and a BBQ? Post up your thoughts and we'll see if we want to set a date or not
  22. Chris and Michel....were glad you both are here representing France
  23. Happy Birthday Randy!!!! May you have many more with us!
  24. John, If you want to talk with someone about pulling a single wheel trailer, talk with Dennis Traynor Midrsv on the site here. I know he had a unigo that he pulled behind his RSV and would be a great resource for questions......and loose that tire thats on there
