  1. Do It! Sissy!!
  2. Ben, I'm glad you like it, it's a very fitting statement and it always makes me stop and listen for the ones that have gone to the other side....and yes, I do still hear them talk to me
  3. Very nice Ben, and time will heal the sting. Here is a little something that I have found makes a lot of sense...all the best to you and your family my friend. Irish Tombstone Prayer Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to eachother, that we are still Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used to. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was, there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before...Only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ
  4. I like Tweeties answer, I have wished a few times of being able to go back. I would have stuck it out in the service and retired in 2007, but then I might have been kiled on active duty I look at where I'm at, and the people I know here and who I'm married to, and it probably wouldn't be this way. In that respect I wouldn't change it, my life isn't perfect, but I have good people surrounding me...so I suppose I'm actually very happy

Ponch did that with him at the Rockport MD, thanks for the mention though
  6. I'm still cosiderate to all you OLD Senior Citizens....my parents be that now Notice the text is really big
  7. Carl....Heat it with a propane torch, it will come off as I had to do that with my '89 and Gunboats '99 when I did my starter clutch and his stator upgrade.
  8. Good to hear you got out buddy, sometimes a night out like such can straiten the woes of the world out for a spell. So what was the hardest song they tried to get you on?
  9. We just always broke out the guns and had them all over the kitchen table cleaning them. The daughters date would have to come in to meet the parents and see all the guns being cleaned and the targets with no center sections in them and would then be asked what time he was having their daughter home at. The smart ones said what time would you like her home Nice job Pinky, next time be building something and accidentally swing that 10 ft 2X8 into him mellon
  10. Happy Belated Birthday Gary!!!
  11. Herbert, I'm not very up to date on all the newer coolants, I do know there is less toxic ones as mentioned here, but I have always used a good quality "Green" antifreeze and mixed it myself. I know some of the newer GM stuff, the "Orange" coolant has specific ingedients that are comaptable with newer seals and Orings. The difference on using them on older seals and such can help to deteriorate them
  12. Looking forward to seeing the pics Tom
  13. Neil, I just looked up the Ethanediol and it doesn't give any difference between it and Ethelene Glycol. Any green type automotive antifreeze will work, you just dont want to use the GM type Dexcool as it's not compaable with the seals and o rings on the RSV. I'm sure some of our chemists will come on with more info than I am able to find.
  14. Ben, Words always seem inadequate at times like these, we have all lost loved ones, but it's never easy to let them go. Your Father fought a heroic battle, which unfortunately did not turn out like your family wanted it to. I think the one thing I would say is to take the time you had with him in the end and cherish that. I'm sure there were conversations that helped to complete the time you and he had left. As always, you and your family are in our thoughts my friend, lean on us should you need to, knowing that we are here for whatever you need....all the best.
  15. Nice thinking outside the box, for a solo rider that is very nice. Where did you end up hiding the CB box as I see you still have both antennas?
  16. All the best to you both Joe
  17. Annie....fill us in will ya kiddo
  18. Must be my Manly Physique
  19. I dont like the 404's at all, but tires preferences are like....well you know. I am a fan of Avon Venoms, some aren't, but I have had great luck with all the sets of Avons I have owned. The E3 Dunlop, and yes I have had a set on my '89 VR were ok, took a bit of getting used to but performed reasonably well. Best thing I can tell you is do what I have done for all the years I have rode Ventures, try them all out and judge for yourself.
  20. Dan...I'm at an age where if I wanted to go fast I would have a bike for that. I do so much love busting your chops though
  21. It's unfortunate to hear all this James, just remember to focus on 1 thing at a time. If you try to tackle it all at once you will overwhelm yourself and get discouraged. We'll keep you in our thoughts my friend....all the best to you.
  22. You wanna go fast, buy an FJR or a Busa
