    My Credit Union doesn't allow them to put those charges on my card. Same way with hotels. Never had a problem.

    I buy all of my tires from Motorcycle Superstore, and they have always had a fresh date.

    The Pirelli Route 66s are a low-mileage tire. The bike shop next to me sells a lot of them, and people are starting to find out why he pushes to sell so many. They don't last long, and they have to buy another one soon. I tried a couple of them on my 850, and they were junk.

    I wash mine all the time, and have never had a problem. Dry the connectors out with contact cleaner, then add a bit of dielectric grease.

    That looks older than an '82. I sold my '82 GS850GLZ to my son. My tank was the smooth one. The G and L are a bit different, but I thought the tank was the same. Hmmm...maybe not. They are fun bikes...and fast.

    Glad he wasn't hurt bad. Been thru that with my son twice so far...it ain't fun.

    I haven't looked at it up close yet, but I am wondering, for those of us that are out of warranty, about something. Since you have to tap on the pump, to get it to start, I wonder if we could just pull the brushes, and clean them, and the commutator with scotch-brite? I know this works with just about every other motor I know of. Like I said, I haven't looked at it, so I don't know how accessible the brushes are.

    We are back home from our 1500 mile trip to Florida. Lots of heat(it was 103 in Macon, Ga yesterday), and lots of smoke from those wildfires. Gonna enjoy my recliner and some AC for a bit. Ahhhhhhhh!

    Still in Jacksonville, Fl. Rode down to the beach today, and had one of my favorite breakfasts(Red Snapper). Relaxing in the cool hotel room right now. Going to a cookout at a friend's condo later. Heading toward home in the morning.

    We are in the Crowne Plaza by the airport in Jax. Very hot ride at 700 miles, and 12 hours. I'll try to get in touch with you sometime this weekend, Ruffy.
