Here it is. Read this... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41546&highlight=copper+resistor

I found that it seemed funny to have a resistor type plug AND a resistor cap, so I removed the resistors from the caps, and replaced them with copper wire of the same size. Bike started soooo much better after that. There is a thread about it on here somewhere.

My Dad, my Sons and I usually eat at Applebee's every year. This year, it will be just me and Dad, as my Sons are currently deployed.

Need Prayers for Ponch!!!
Monty replied to Sweetnothing's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Hang in there Ponch! Sounds like you are doing great. The way things are going, you'll be back to normal in no time. We're all pulling for you here, my friend. Stay strong and keep fightin'. Love ya Brother. -
Brian, I doubt if that's his problem, since he says it only happens in 2nd gear. Pinion problems would show up in any gear. I'll bet he is having the famous 2nd gear issue. Do a search in the 1st Gen tech section, and you'll find lots of info about this problem.

Thank you all. They arrived safely yesterday afternoon. Some will be going into Northern Iraq, and some onto Afghanistan. We are hoping they stay in Kuwait. Much safer there, for the time being.

Look here. This guy has warehouses full of bikes and parts all over the country. His name is Sam. REALLY nice guy. www.sgcustomcycles.com

Well, my Sons finally left the country today. They just left out of Bangor, Maine, headed to Ireland, refuel, then on to Kuwait. Everyone, please wish them well. We'll see them late next year.

I already have one like that. I bought it at Wal-Mart for $30, and it works great. Philips MP3 player.

Fake or not, I still like it.

Right back at ya!

We're leaving soon, too. Gonna be a nippy ride!

Or...you could do this. It cost a little over $100, and I got to keep the trailer for like 4 days. Well worth it. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/IMG_3796.jpg

Good luck with the surgery, and hopefully a fast healing process.

Dan, I hauled my '83 in the bed of my truck, all the way from Dayton, Ohio, to Paris, Tennessee. It was an 8 hour trip. I drive a F150. I just dropped the tailgate, me and 2 other guys loaded it in straight, and I tied it down at all four corners, and one thru the rear wheel. We didn't need anything else. The tailgate held it just fine, with no damage. It rode back there like a dream. Now, getting it unloaded, all by myself, backing up to a ditch, was a little more interesting. I got it out ok, though.
