  1. I'm sure they didn't see a need to make one to fit the RSV's 150 wide front tire. But I bet a Hardley tire will slide right in. Later, Scooter Bob
  2. Yep, 27mm it is, I have that one oddball wrench hanging on the wall, and yes it's a tight squeeze, but can be done with the handlebars on, just got to keep flipping the bars bck and forth to use it. Later, Scooter Bob
  3. Good one Dave, Karen is :rotfl::rotfl: Later, Scooter Bob
  4. TMI my friend, TMI
  5. Next Wednesday, June 15, is national Ride to Work Day. This marks the 18th national Ride to Work Day. Ride to Work Day is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization whose mission statement is "advocating and supporting the use of motorcycles and scooters for transportation, and providing information about everyday utility riding to the public." We at the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) support this group and encourage everyone to participate, at the same time wondering, shouldn't every day be ride to work day? Learn more at http://www.ridetowork.org/ OOOOPPS, I thought it was yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that,etc... Later, Scooter Bob
  6. Just a thought. I think my Dad had trouble kind of like this once. I believe part of the problem had to do with the file having every available language in it. I think he had some computer guru friend somehow eliminate the unnessasary ones to shrink the file. Might be something to check out?? Just my .02, Scooter Bob
  7. Most I've done is 5.5 gallons. I'm curious about everyone's filling procedures. On the stand or straight up? To the bottom of the long neck, or add some extra?? I've always wondered where they calculated the 6 gallons from, but fortunately I've never found the bottom...yet... Later, Scooter Bob
  8. Is it safe to say you got an e-mail from me??? Later, Scooter Bob
  9. Maybe I'll try that. You gotta give me a break though. I rode HD's for 18 years, and if that backrest showed up without a lock nut, I'm sure I thought it was just forgotten, cus it never would have stayed in place on anything I owned before. I do enjoy the fact that I can push the bike out in the cold weather and let it warm up without my gloves and stuff bouncing off the seat. Later, Scooter Bob
  10. I don't recall if mine came with a lock nut, or I put it on, but I do have one on it. I also picked up a small cheapo 7/16" wrench and keep it in the pouch behind the seat in case I need to tweak on the road. Later, Scooter Bob
  11. Mine does go back to my Hardley days. Rode the shovlehead to vegas and yellowstone and the 99 Electraglide to Washington State. But we'll be adding more with the Venture this year(2 this past weekend), as soon as I redo the Map. Later, Scooter Bob PS Map is redone, that was easy!!
  12. Smart Man, we'll be looking into a different route next time. But, we did miss all the rain as well. Cinderalla must have been farther south. Nice meeting you Steve, and we'll look you up next time we head west. Later, Scooter Bob
  13. Karen and I had a great time. We met so many great folks. I didn't know till this morning that it's now the biggest VR rally ever, (and we got to be a part of it!!!). We got home about 8 last night (ya, we let Dan drag us back through Chicago:beersign:). Guess they should have put a string of bells around BongoBob's bike as well (glad you're OK:2132:). Looking forward to attending again next year(if we can find a long way around Chicago:soapbox:). Later, Scooter Bob and Karen PS. I've got all day to figure out again how to add two more states to the map:smash2:
  14. I've been running Amsoil 10w40 motorcycle oil since the second oil change at 4,000 miles. The nearest Yamaha dealer is 30 miles away, but I can buy oil and filter at the Fleet Farm 4 blocks from where I work. I change somewhere between 5 and 6,000, when it's convenient. I've never had to add any oil between changes and it now has over 52k. I think the amsoil did some good to quiet the gear whine in the drive train. Come think of it, it's about time to change again. Just my , Scooter Bob
  15. You'll love it Danimal. I had a backrest on the shovelhead, 99 electraglide, and I put the Utopia on the RSV right away. I had a partial discectomy in 95, and still have issues ocasionally(mostly in winter) When my lower back hurts, I go for a ride, soothes it right out. Enjoy, Scooter Bob
  16. Stock Road King(electraglide) cans aren't a whole lot louder than stock, just a throatier sound and a little less restriction. I don't think they could ever be called "annoying". I have a set from my 99 electraglide, but I think they used really cheap chrome on them (probably cus they new everybody would change them anyway) that is starting to get pretty rusty looking after several years of winter riding. I put the stockers back on at the tire change a couple weeks ago. You should be able to find some in your area pretty easily, just have to put your tail between your legs and walk into an HD stealership. Later, Scooter Bob
  17. Karen and I just signed up. We'll be riding to Huntington, Indiana (Fort Wayne area) Thursday night to visit my grandma, and running the rest of the way Friday afternoon. We're looking forward to meeting more of you folks from the site. Plus, I can add two more states to my signature map!! Later, Scooter Bob and Karen
  18. You're right, enough said By the way, I really love the quote at the bottom of your post:thumbsup2:
  19. Maybe I'm wrong, but I never figured the Auto makers owned the dealerships anyway. I thought they gave out a license to sell their products?? Or else how could you have dealers selling more than 1 brand?? Just my
  20. I would think someone here has a track less than 210 miles away. I won't have time to run to Chicagoland till Memorial weekend. But if that's what it takes, we'll do it then. It's not that tough!!! Later, Scooter Bob current target still is... you/ your bike/ a nascar race track or entrance sign/ and 3 fingers held up. by eusa1
  21. You should know there's 4 seasons in WI, almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction. Seriously though, I've seen car tires and rims damaged by hitting sharp edges like that man hole sticking up. If I were you, I'd check those out real close. Jack 'em up and spin them and look for out of round or bulges from broken casings, etc... Glad you made it out OK, Scooter Bob
  22. Karen is still trying to figure out the proper hand signals for a chinese fire drill:confused24: Later, Scooter Bob and Karen
  23. We had about 20 people help out throughout the morning. Not bad for first time and a cool, dreary morning. A couple close to crashes cause they were reading our signs or honking instead of watching the guy in front of them(and yes, the cab driver does ride). All in all it turned out good, and I hope we got the message to a bunch more folks on the road. You guys might recognize a couple riders in these pics that helped us out. Love the mohawk Dan!! Sorry the old guys liked our bike better. Thanks for coming up and hope you made it home safe:happy34: Later, Scooter Bob and Karen P.S. Karen still hurts from laughing so much:rotfl:
  24. Should be one awesome bike when you're done!! We'll have to come out and see it!! Later, Scooter Bob
